I have just a form in my VB.Net project and even when I try debugging that - there is nothing going on besides the form being loaded - I get the error: No symbols are loaded for any call stack frame. The source code cannot be displayed.

View 2 RepliesI'm trying to get the HTML from a frame in a website which is loaded into a WebBrowser in my application.
I have this WebBrowser so that the user can login easily by putting the username and password on the login form of the page so that i can get the HTML code from the protected page.
However, i have to read the frame code while the WebBrowser being on the main page because if i enter the frame, it redirects me to the main page again so there is no way of reading the frame code by entering it.
So i don't know how to read the frame HTML code of a website[url]...

I have a web service I am working on. Recently I made a whole bunch of changes and now, although I can successfully compile it, when I run it my break-points will not work. The red dot turns into a circle and floating the mouse over it reveals the message:
The breakpoint will no currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document.
I have NO idea what I changed to cause this to begin happening. One big change was to add a reference to a WSDL, but I really don't think that is the problem.[code]...
I have now wasted 8+ hours trying tot fix this problem. My goal here is to get stack trace information from a dynamically loaded assembly. If the dynamically loaded assembly just throws the error back to the caller, the stack trace information doesn't tell you the location in the dynamic assembly where the error occurred. If I throw my own exception, passing in the original exception, it will get added as an inner exception and will have the information need. I'm trying to avoid changing all my dynamic assemblies to throw new exceptions.

Problem in VisualBasic 10 on Windows 7 OS I have a form which has 30 lines for user input in format <textbox for Name> <comboBox for Type> <comboBox for Quality> <NumericUpDown for Amount> At the start of each line is a CheckBox. The intention is this enables/Disables the line. I have associated each object with an Array - eg

and assigned

ie enable/disable the boxes on a line dependent on whether CheckBox is Checked The Sub for Picked_Changed refuses to allow referenced to the arrays within, even if not generated by the picking of box (see above - it allowed '=Men3.Value' but not 'Men(3).Value', although the button sub is fine with this)
Is there a way to see if a particular frame within the webbrowser control is finished loading? I know the functions webbrowser1.isbusyandebbrowser1.readystate=readystate_complete work for the main window, but it does not work when a frame is loading. It simply keeps saying the page is done loading. The event webbrowser1_documentcompleted sort of works, it registers when my frame has loaded, but it also registers when all the other frames are loaded. Is there a way to just check on the status of one particular frame.

I had gotten a whole new application off of another computer and when I run the project, it runs fine and also breaks at the specified break points. am developing an inventory management system. have two listview controls. one for ITEM and another for details pertaining date, quantity, cost, issued to and so on. i want a vb.net code that if a given item in listview A is clicked, listview B details are cleared and then the details of that item are loaded and displayed on listview B.there is no criteria of loading like between a range of dates; just all records in the database.

View 11 RepliesI have created a UserControl and I'm using a simple app to test it. However, when my code in the control throws an error, such as:

the debugger opens the module of the UserControl in the IDE of the testing application and highlights the code above, instead of highlighting the call made by the testing application itself, e.g. LG.Add(-1, ...).How do I make the exception propagate up the call stack?
I have looked I'm not just posting this question. My breakpoints turn hollow yellow and hovering over them displays "The breakpoint will not currently be hit. No symbols have been loaded for this document" Maybe I don't understand what is going on here. I set it up to use microsofts symbol server although I have no idea how that works. From what I've read i'm guessing I would have to know what dll file I was using in my application vb files I guess. I set it to load all symbol files. Anyway I've tried deleting my obj and bin folders, making sure I'm in debug and not release, I've tried it over and over again. I can't get my program to stop at breakpoints. It also will not "Break" and highlight the source code like Visual Studio 6 does. I've tried Visual Studio Ultimate and Professional versions. I've turned off everything and turned it back on and tried it in different paired configurations and I can't get this software to stop at a breakpoint. It tells me it's not going to but doesn't tell me how to make it. I've been to the top 50 webpages on google with the search of the displayed information and they all say to do something I've tried. I've tried running it as administrator. I'm not wanting to give up but man what was wrong with it not needing symbols and just stopping on the red dang dot!!! I enable dot net source stepping and it downloaded two dll files but it still says no symbols have been loaded when I click debug.
Ok here's what I did. I deleted my obj and bin files, started vs 2010 pro as administrator went to project properties, compile and select generate full debug information , I also enabled dot net source stepping and it started working. I have tried several things while not running it as administrator and that is the only difference in the steps I just took and THESE STEPS FIXED THE PROBLEM.

I have loaded "ShowFrames.php" onto my WebBrowser1 control and it loads both of the frames onto the webbrowser control. Now my question is, how can I get the source of either of the iframes WITHOUT loading that frame by itself? For instance, when you load 2 frames on a screen in Firefox, it lets you right click on it, and select "This Frame" > "View Source" so you can view the sources separately. Can anyone tell me how I can duplicate this and put the source in variable strSource? I know that to get source code for a page, you need this WebBrowser1.Document.Body.InnerHtml But I dont know where to go from there in order to get a specific iframe's source.
I would like to catch any exceptions from any method in a class so that I may record class specific data to the exception for logging before it is passed up the stack. I know that I can put a try-catch in every method of the class, but there are many methods and It seems there should be a more efficient way. Example of what I am currently doing:
