i have already enable the the Remote Connection enabling the both TCP/IP and name Pipes and its server authentication of our both msSQL server 2005 is SQL SERVER AND WINDOWS AUTHENTICATION MODE
and also i put a check in Allow Remote Connections to this Server...both our laptops...
but still encountering the problem... the default gateway of our adhoc is 192.168.137.1

Ultimately I am going to be installing this program in my office on multiple computers, but would only like to have one "server" program where the database is installed. All of the other computers will have access to this one database over the LAN. For some reason I am unable to access this remote database file over my LAN. i am building my first VB.net application with a connection to an Access database. Now, this works fine when I debug, however when I deploy the application I get the error saying "Could not find file", which I assume means i have got one of the publishing settings wrong? I don't think it is a code error because it works when I debug, but if anyone wants to see part of it please let me know.
I am connecting to Citrix database using SQL-defined ODBC. Having a problem with it. I am updating an existing application that uses the ODBC in SQL, and it connects fine. However, that database connection is secured, only available on the production side. The test side has a remote connection. I am attempting to change the remote connection values to match the parameters of the SQL-based ODBC, but the labels are different, and it doesn't seem to match. Specifically, I don't think I'm getting the DataSource correct. Also, it can't find the username and password that I use to log into the remoter connection - I get an error message "Invalid authorization specification".
2. I developed a form that had a combo box and Data grid view control The combo box is fed (linked) to a Access database list. The data grid view control is fed (linked) to multiple Access Databases. When I choose a name in the combo box, it loads a new database into the datagricview control. It works great. No errors. I have developed a frontend app using VB 2010 which is to connect to a remote MySQL server. My server has an internal IP address of 202.56.20.72 and an internal IP address of 192.168.20.44.
When I use the internal IP in my connection string and connect over LAN, the whole thing works fine. But when i changed the IP to the external address and tried to connect to the server over the internet, I get an error something like 'Failed to connect to MySQL server for user 'user'@'localhost', [using Password=NO]. This means that for some reason, it is not connecting to the server at all.

I am using VB 2008 Express and have created an application that connects to a SQL database to populate a datagrid.The application is working properly on my computer but will not on others 'remote connection permissions' error.After some googleing I found that the express version is crippled to only work on local machines that use a database.If I purchase Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition, import and rebuild my application, will my application be able to run properly on other PC's?

The MsgBox() returns a message that says: "Error: The 'MySQLProv' provider is not registered on this local machine". All I want to do is access the table in my database, is it possible? (also, without installing anything additionally?)

So I moved the code to an ASP.Net web app, which is impersonating a service account through the Impersonate section of web.config. The account I am impersonating does not have admin rights on any of the workstations so I put in a username/password into the constructor for the computer entry like so:

If I look at the Username property of the resulting deComputer object I can see that the username matches what I entered.Also if I enter in an invalid password it throws an error, so it is authenticating in some fashion.
However if I now try and add or remove a user from a remote workstation I get a general access denied error. If I add the service account that ASP.Net is using as a local admin on that workstation it will add and remove no problem.So next I tried using the LogonAPI (advapi32.dll ->LogonUser call) to login as the user account that is a local admin on all workstations, impersonated the resulting WindowsIdentitiy and tried running just the original deComputer instantiation. When I do this every property, excepty Path, returns an OLE exception..
