Retrieve Details From This Object 'on-the-fly' From Other Forms?
Aug 14, 2011I have a Login class with a doLogin() method which is called from a Button.OnClick() event from my Login form.If the login is successful, I then instantiate a User Class with the users details (username, first name etc.).The problem is, I don't know the best way to store this User object .I want to be able to retrieve details from this Object 'on-the-fly' from other forms, Such as UserObj.getFirstName(). And then have the ability to remove the object for when the user logs out, for example.
I really don't want to have to pass the object around to every form that would need it. That seems unnecessary and I'm sure there's a much easier and logical way.If it was possible to store objects in My.Settings, then It'd be perfect, but you can't (i think?).

I dont want new instance to be opened every time. I am using SHDocVw.dll for the same. I have coded for opening a new IE instance and URL is getting passed successfully. But meanwhile if I close that open IE then I get exception and my program dont work.

Nov 7, 2011Several years ago, I created a nifty data entry form that is called from a main menu. Due to recent user requirements, I had to create another form that is very similar to the data entry form. To prevent duplicate coding and testing, I created a class to inherit the existing data entry form. The issue is when I leave the class and return to a sub menu, the class is opening the main menu and the sub menu. How do I only return to the sub menu without the main menu appearing? Here is a snippet of my code. You'll have to scroll down to the very bottom to see the section that is causing issues. BTW, I coded the application in such a way that only one form should be open at a time.

Jun 20, 2012I am currently working on a program that has several buttons in it lined up. Each button goes to different applications (.exe programs). The program I am making is suppose to be a fullscreen program and won't let you see any of Windows when it's running.
Therefore I want to make a "back" button that always stays on top of any application and when I push it it will take me back to my WindowsForm (startpage of the program).I am also wondering if you can make it so all .exe programs only can run ONCE. So if I press one of the buttons saying "open notepad" I want it to work so it can't open Notepad once again making it two notepads open. Just go back to the first Notepad opened.

I am working with Visual Studio 2010 Professional. I created a simple WebBrowser trying to access the indicated web-site. The problem begins. Well, the website loads, but when you go to the login page (Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site) and try to log in, it doesn't work. I mean, when I enter the login details the login page just refreshes itself and the login wasn't proceed. The same login page appear with every login attempt. The is the current problem!I check with Google, it works. But, it doesn't work with Forex Trading Social Network | Online Forex Trading Forum and Social Networking Site! Why?

Dec 23, 2010so I had an idea today while modding a game I play. I decided to make a mod-manager.In order to start the game with mods, you have to go to the website, log in, click playnow and view the source of the html file. From there you get the sessionID variable and add it to a shortcut on your desktop. I wanted to be able to automate this process by doing the following:
on button1.click: somehow parse the source of the html file to locate the line that looks like chis:
var sessionId = 'random26charSessionID'; and take what is inside of the ' ' and add it to textbox1.text
Any ideas? Not sure if it will be in the same line every time with add banners and stuff...so I wanted to parse the doccument.
