I want to get the list of selected files in the currently opened windows explorer, So that when a user opens a windows explorer and selects a specific collection of file from the selected directory in the windows explorer and presses a short key of the feature then the feature itself will copy the list of full path that can be used in other module.
You know how you can use REMOTE DESKTOP and see your local drives as a type of SYSTEM FOLDER with a comment of DISK FROM REMOTE DESKTOP CONNECTION. If your browse to a folder you might see the ADDRESS look like this
\tsclientCWindows
What is tsclient? Is that a driver that is "expressing" itself like a folder structure? How about when you plug a camera or other device in a usb port and it shows as a G: drive, for instance?I'm guessing the G: drive trick is just a "driver" starting up for the usb port that somehow makes itself seen as a mapped drive. Is the \tsclient thing done the same way? Is there some kind of tsclient.exe that runs to do whatever this does? How can I make my own "pseudo" folder structure?
will give me information if the foregroundwindow is being draggedor not something for example GetDragState(Foregroundwindow)does any API of this kind even exists?
Also, I'm working with this code to get all main window handles: For Each proc As Process In Process.GetProcesses If (Not proc.MainWindowHandle = 0) And (proc.MainWindowHandle <> ExceptWin) And
I have a winform application and this winform application has created few files. I want to implement "find target" function in my application to show those files. Those files located in a same folder. See the picture:Let's say that I have created few files in "C:Test" folder and this folder has this file: "C:TestFile1.txt". How to create "find target" functionality using VB.NET?
I am developing a application where a url is supposed to be passed to Internet Explorer using a search button. But if more than one url passes it should open in same instance. I dont want new instance to be opened every time. I am using SHDocVw.dll for the same. I have coded for opening a new IE instance and URL is getting passed successfully. But meanwhile if I close that open IE then I get exception and my program dont work.
I'm using Visual Studio 2008 and developing a VB.NET application. I'm having strange lockup problems with my program, but only when Internet explorer 8 is opened.
When I cover my form with another window and then uncover it, I find that it has locked up. My program has no references to IE and the only thing it even has to do with IE is using Process.Start with a web address.
My program works fine and exactly as it should, but only when IE is not opened.
Does anyone know why a program would lock up only while IE is running?
Edit: I've done some digging and I've found the offending thread in my program. I don't know what starts this thread or what it does, but when I kill it, my program no longer freezes. The thread is one of the CreateApplicationContext threads, here is the last few items in the stack trace of that thread.
I want to make a program that is similar to Windows Explorer. It will have a button that when you click it it opens a FolderBrowserDialog and it will have an area that displays the contents of the selected folder. I want to have a label that displays the current folder path (i.e. 'USERDocuments...') and I also would like a feature to search all files on the computer. Also, is it possible that when I click on a file in the contents of the selected folder it displays its information (i.e. Name, Size, etc.)? And can I also make it so that if you double click on another folder in the current folder's display it opens that folder? And can I have a button to go up one directory?
I need to have a VB form that runs out of focus behind another program. When I press "A" (I'll use "A" and "B" as my example keys), "B" is then sent to the program in focus from the VB form and held until "A" is pressed again.
I've worked out how to get it to repeat a key press hundreds of times but I need it to HOLD the key, rather than to just Press and De-press countless times. Here's the piece of code which repeats the letter "A" 100 times:
Dim Index As Integer 'My count variable For Index = 1 To 100 'Count from 1 to 100
I need the whole window to drag when they click and hold an image box. Is there any way to do this? (Example: They move their cursor onto the image click and hold the mouse down then move their cursor. The whole window then moves with it.)
Module Module1 Sub Main() Console.WriteLine(CInt("123.656")) End Sub End Module
In the above code as soon the the output appears in a window, the window disappears....How to solve this problem?Do i need to add some code to hold the output window for a longer time?
I have a nokia phone, which is connected to my PC through Nokia PC Suite. Whenever I get a call on my phone, a small window appears above System Trey. I want to read out the number of caller that appears on that window through my program, so that I can use it further.
In WPF I have one window opening a second window that allows some data selections to occur on. Once the selections have been made I then want to submit/close the second/sub window and have the data pushed back to the opening/parent window.
I can push data into the sub window from the parent via public properties, but have not worked out how to get it back the other way.[code]...
I am developing an application which has a WebBrowser control, and it navigates to a tal.ki forum. Now tal.ki allows users to sign in using existing accounts in google or facebook, and opens a new window for the same. Now when i click log in, a new IE window opens up, which asks me to log in, i provide the information, the window closes, but the user is not logged into the forum.I have heard that session plays some part here, but i don't know anything i can do for this. I tried WebKitBrowser but that not even opens a window to log in.
if you guys have used office 2003 or better( i am sure all) then you would have seen that when the help window open it causes the active windows say of MS WORD to change accordingly so that this help windows fits with it along the right side and this functionality i want to implement in my VB windows application and have no idea how to do it Also i have seen this feature in GOOGLE DESKTOP GADGETS...
i want to implement that when my application opens which ever is the active window( of any application) snaps to the left and allows my application to fir in the right hand side i am developing my application in VS 2005 using Visual Basic.
I am having form called Test1 which contains button( Button1). When I press the button the message box is getting displaying, but at the same time I am accessing the Form Test1. It should not be the case, because before closing the message box the control should not allow to focus the Test1. But in my case the control is allowing to focus the Test1(form) before closing the message box.
Sample code.
If myReader.Read() Then MsgBox("Matched record exist.", MsgBoxStyle.Information, "Data Tool") Else
have been developing an application for quite some time now. I have decided to create an mdi parent form to hold all the windows I have done so far. Is there an easy way to implement the mdi parent/ child associations?
I am writting a program that aims at filling up bookmarks of a template with data retrieved from a sql server db. The form opens a Word document but I can't control the position and dimensions of the word document. It seems that I can't manage to overwrite MS Word default settings for position and dimensions. I want to be able to display the word document close to the form. Here is the code that I have tried and doesn't work:
How can I resize a window? I've done it by using GetProcessName and MoveWindow, but with MoveWindow it doesn't work on different operating systems/computers. what would be an alternative?
How would I re-size the window @ a point relative to its parent location and size. I am using code from Make an unowned window's parent to my form, to be able to set a windows parent to panel1.
Dim proc As Process ' Start the process proc = Process.Start("C:UsersDmitryAppDataRoamingSpotifyspotify.exe") proc.WaitForInputIdle() Dim tmp_hWnd As IntPtr [Code] .....
This works on most windows except for ones that are customized. Maximizing the window will maximize the window to bounds of the actual screen bounds instead of the panel1 bounds. Code works fine with normal windows but not with this one. (Spotify Window.) SendMessage(proc.MainWindowHandle, 274, 61488, 0)
I am writing a program that is navigated manly by using tabs, the tab panels (If that is what they are called) hold the vast majority of the GUI, only leaving space for the menue bar and a few rarely used window forms. So my question is this, what do I need to do/set to make the tab control (Or tab Panels) re-size with the window it is in when the user re-sizes the window?
I have an application that while running (it doesn't have to have focus, it can be minimized or another window can have focus) can listen and respond to global hot keys pressed. For instance I have the key combo Ctrl+Shift+0. When this hot key is pressed my app can recognize this and then I can do something.
This "something" that I want to do is:
1. Know what window is currently active and has focus when the hot key was pressed. And...
2. Change the size of said window
I can currently identify what window has focus by the following (the code block is inside the function that fires when the hot key is pressed):
Code:
Private Declare Function GetForegroundWindow Lib "user32.dll" () As IntPtr Private Declare Function GetWindowThreadProcessId Lib "user32.dll" (ByValhwnd As IntPtr, ByRef lpdwProcessID As Integer) As Integer
[Code]....
I can get the handle to the active window and the process that owns that window.
Having this information, how can I get access to the window itself? Furthermore, get access to it's properties so I can change the size of this thing? I'm not sure If this is the right information to be gathering for what I'm trying to accomplish but it seems that I'm close.
I have a form which has no window borders, but I still want to be able to resize the window? How might i achieve this? Even just a few options, like 'small' 'medium' and 'large' size would be fine if it cant be normally resized.
So i am having a bit of a problem.. What i want is for my application to show the panel in the from to display a windows explorer selection.. Look here
You see the panel 2 in here... Well the panel 2 needs to display this...
Is this possible you know like with a library or an extension or something.. Or do i need to make my own System for viewing files..???
