Session Lost When New Window Is Opened By A WebBrowser Control?
Apr 11, 2012
I am developing an application which has a WebBrowser control, and it navigates to a tal.ki forum. Now tal.ki allows users to sign in using existing accounts in google or facebook, and opens a new window for the same. Now when i click log in, a new IE window opens up, which asks me to log in, i provide the information, the window closes, but the user is not logged into the forum.I have heard that session plays some part here, but i don't know anything i can do for this. I tried WebKitBrowser but that not even opens a window to log in.
i am using Visual Studio 2008 Expres Edition. I use the WebpageManipulation Example VB Code from KLEINMA downloaded from this forum. It uses a Webbrowser Control. What i want to do:
I am writting a program that aims at filling up bookmarks of a template with data retrieved from a sql server db. The form opens a Word document but I can't control the position and dimensions of the word document. It seems that I can't manage to overwrite MS Word default settings for position and dimensions. I want to be able to display the word document close to the form. Here is the code that I have tried and doesn't work:
If my sessions time out I want to re-direct the page to another URL: Say the home page. On my page I make use of a GridView that uses Session variables. If the session variable time expire(currently at 60min) and the user click on a row in the GridView I want to re-direct him/her to the home page of my site.
I've got a problem losing session variables in an ASP/VB.NET application. The application allows searching for an item or it can show an item if provided with a unique link (in the browser). It holds information about the item in session variables. In the webpage showing an Item a user can click a button which opens a window with additional information about the item - obtained from a session variable. When I search for the item using the search engine and click the button - it works OK.
When I copy the link to a browser: the item is shown, however clicking the button returns a 'null exception' - the session variables with information about the item are lost. Moreover when I provide the link for the second time the button works, the variables are there!
I have a bit of strange behaviour in an asp.net web application that involves the session state being lost.
Process A user logs into the application and the session is set. They then fill out 1 field, and the application then does an AJAX POST to a .asmx web service. Within the web service, I am using a HttpWebRequest to grab data from another server.
This data is then output to the browser.A few more fields are then filled in, and the data is then again Post to the same web service via an AJAX POST.
I have a problem with WebBrowser control and cookies.First of all what happens when one navigates in a normal Web browser (IE9 in my case): open page
I enter my username / password,
I leave the checkbox "Stay signed in" unchecked and click "Sign in",
IE9 opens my GMail page with all my mails listed. That is OK.
1.2. At the top of GMail page there are a lot of links like "Calendar", "Documents", etc.
When I click the "Documents" link, my documents page is opened in a separate tab in IE9. No additional login information as name / psw is asked. This is fine too. Now, what happens when I repeat all that in WebBrowser control (I have created a very simple VB.NET application with single WebBrowser control in it).
2.1. In form load event the following code is executed:
Private Sub MyForm_Load(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Me.MyWebBrowser.Navigate("http://www.gmail.com") End Sub
2.2. I enter my GMail login information (name and psw) in WebBrowser control,
2.3. When I click the "Documents" link, a new instance of IE9 is opened,
2.4. Instead of showing a list of my documents, Google asks me to login again in an IE9 window. Why? Why I have to enter my credentials again?I think there is something wrong with cookies and they are not set correctly in a step 2.2.
I got a webbrowser control on 1st form (Form1.vb) and a New Window button...When i press new window button, SAME window must open (i mean with same content)heres what i tryed:
rivate Sub newWind_click (ByVal..............Form2.show
I have a webbrowser control built into a windows form of my application and I was curious if there was a way that any links that are clicked on in the webbrowser control will be forced to open in a new browser window?
I'm getting spotty results trying to build a procedure that queries Yahoo finance, retrieves a stock quote and then passes the HTML body contents to a text variable. Using a WebBrowser control, it works in a 2 step fashion, using a textbox to input the symbol and a button to trigger navigation. After the WebBrowser window fills, I can pull the contents out of the browser window. In this case, it's just one number to keep things simple. The working code appears below:
I am using an embedded webbrowser control to access a third-party website, populate the username and password boxes on their front page, and login. The problem I have is that the resulting window that the site returns to me is in the form of a new window. What I want to do is capture this window and all it's session/cookie data in to the original webbrowser control, as even if I direct the original window to the same resulting url, some kind of authentication data is missing and the site tells me I have logged out, even though the popup window works fine. I need that page in the original control so that I can continue to access it programmatically, and I don't really want to get in to the complication of accessing the new window, as I expect I'll have to delve in to the api or something.
I have searched the forums a bit in search of ways to find out how to prevent Internet Explorer to open when you click on a new window link in a WebBrowser control. I came across a topic with this code:
It works in all the browsers we've tested it in.But when I display that webpage inside my vb.net executable (in a WebBrowser control)... the "refresh" code is definitely run, but it just clears the screen.
When i added a 2nd openfiledialog i lost the file list in both dialogs I deleted both file dialogs, added another openfiledialog and coded it the same as the first dialog was previously. now the openfiledialog and the savefiledialog does not show any file list. But when i start to type in the file name box a list of the files that are in the folder appear . if i click on one of them files and click open the image file will properly go into the picture box in the program. Here is the code for the open file dialog
I have a nokia phone, which is connected to my PC through Nokia PC Suite. Whenever I get a call on my phone, a small window appears above System Trey. I want to read out the number of caller that appears on that window through my program, so that I can use it further.
Private Sub LinkClicked(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Dim link As HtmlElement = WebBrowser1.Document.ActiveElement Dim url As String = link.GetAttribute("href") [code]...
Okay so here's the question how do I get the links that open in a new window to open in my main webbrowser control. The above code does some, but it's not fool proof.
I am making a checkprogram to check if a website is still online. I want the program to show a message when a website isn't online anymore. I am checking this with a timer en a webbrowser, if the browser can not reach the webpage, it should show a message.
In WPF I have one window opening a second window that allows some data selections to occur on. Once the selections have been made I then want to submit/close the second/sub window and have the data pushed back to the opening/parent window.
I can push data into the sub window from the parent via public properties, but have not worked out how to get it back the other way.[code]...
I have WebBrowser1 with a loaded page. When I click on a link in WebBrowser1, (in Internet Explorer it will be a PopUp / New Screen) I want it to display in the same webbrowser (WebBrowser1) or if this isn't possible, in WebBrowser2.
I developing an application that downloads some reports from a external ASP web app. I use the control webbrowser to navigate through the pages, generates and download the reports. The URL are in an array ArrURL and I have 2 situacions:[code]
I am having form called Test1 which contains button( Button1). When I press the button the message box is getting displaying, but at the same time I am accessing the Form Test1. It should not be the case, because before closing the message box the control should not allow to focus the Test1. But in my case the control is allowing to focus the Test1(form) before closing the message box.
Sample code.
If myReader.Read() Then MsgBox("Matched record exist.", MsgBoxStyle.Information, "Data Tool") Else

I want to launch a browser session from a Windows App to load a specified file using system.diagnostics.process.start("http://www.abc.com/doc1.doc") but I'd also like to specify that there shouldn't be a toolbar etc. on the browser window. Is this possible?
I have a Menu control to which I've added a Logout menu item. The code looks like so:
Protected Sub Menu1_MenuItemClick(sender As Object, e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.MenuEventArgs) Handles Menu1.MenuItemClick If e.Item.Value = "Logout" Then
[Code]...
When I logout it redirects fine, but it doesn't seem to be abandoning the session. I've successfully implemented logout in another application by using a LinkButton, this seems to be an issue specifically with the Menu control?
I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.
Dim hwnd As IntPtr = FindWindow(Nothing, "User Account Control") Dim hwnd2 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd, 0, "DirectUIHWND", vbNullString) Dim hwnd3 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd2, 0, "CtrlNotifySink", vbNullString) Dim hwnd4 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd3, 0, "Button", "&Yes")
There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?
