I want to get number of lines.
How can I do it?

Sep 3, 2009how to count the lines in textbox1.text (with multiplelines). I don't need to count each character. I only need to count each line from top to bottom in textbox1.text (multiplelines) and I will use Label1 to display the numbers.
example:
1-pauljaones
2-tommyperrry
3-marktoms
4-Jonessmith
5-paulwhite
Obviously this is 5 lines and that's what I need to count.

Mar 25, 2012I have to create a list of 25 randomly generated 0s and 1s in a list box?Next I have to count the number of 0s and put in one label box and number of 1s in another label box.
txtTotalMem.Text = lstInfo.Items.Count
but it counts the overall amount. I need just one type. I tried using the lstRandom.SelectedItem method but you never select the item as it is just random generated numbers. The (relevant) code so far is

Feb 27, 2011I have a txt document here that have certain word on it per line. How can I show it in different labels. I have 25 labels and have label name as followsword1,word2,word3,word4,word5 and so on up to word25. I want the word 1 label will show the first line of the text file and the second word2(label name) will show the second line of the textfile and so on up to the 25th line . Can it be done using loop?I tried but I dont know exactly how readline process works to identify certain lines you want to read and also I tried using the "i" variable to auto generate the name of my label but it did not work.

Apr 14, 2011I have a number of lines of text on an .aspx page that I want a user to be able to edit, I am not storing this text/information anywhere in the database. I just want it to be information that is displayed to the user but can be editable, so the user can view the text and if there is a mistake or want to make a change they can do this by editing it.
I have seen that if you display data in a label and put a textbox beside it then, the textbox can move into the place of the label - I have done this for other text on the page however that method would not fit for this purpose because I require this edit of text to be for a number of lines.

Dec 9, 2011Basically, every time an entry is made - all of the proper data gets put out to a central Listings.txt file and then a specific .txt file for that area. When the user enters the recall form, they can view the listings for all or whichever area they've selected. That works quite fine. However! We also need to include a summary of how many are in each section. Not thinking properly, I started to do this with a counter - until I realized that a counter will lose its value once the program shuts down. My current idea is to count the number of lines in the text file (it outputs 8 lines per listing, so everything would be in values of 8) and then divide that by 8 - but after some searching I haven't been able to find a piece of code that will allow me to get an integer that relates to the amount of individual lines in the file.
