Handle Browser Popups Using The NewWindow Event Of The WebBrowser Control
Oct 21, 2010
I'm trying to handle browser popups using the NewWindow event of the WebBrowser control. The one main thing I needed is the cookie from the main browser control on my form to be passed to the popup window. Below is the only way I've been able to open the popup and pass the Document.Window.Opener value to it so that when java script is executed, it knows where the opener window is. I am getting the following error right now when trying to set the cookie from my webbrowser control to the iexplore instance of the popup window that opened.
I have a large project in Vb.net which drives a web browser control around. What's the best, and easiest, way to manage browser pop ups? Note, I am not just looking to cancel or close them. I need to manage them just like the main window.
I have made a simple web browser in VB Express 2008 that goes to www.metvuw.co.nz for weather viewing. The problem is when you click on a link to show a picture (it is not just a picture it is a html page) of the weather it opens up in a new window in IE, is it possible to have it just open in the same window (in my browser) and use the back button to go back to the previous page? Ie just like when you click a normal link that doesn't open up a new tab or window.
I used to use windwos.form.webbrowser along with cast of its activeXinstance to shdocvw's webbrwoser to get the newwindows event to force new windows in another tab instead of popup. also capture right click new window requests to another instance of browser in another tab but keeping the security context
I'm using the WebBrowser control to automate some things in the background of my application but I'm getting this popup. How can I disable these popups in the webbrowser?
I have an an application with a webbrowser. At some point, one of the url's it navigates to opens up as a popup window in internet explorer. I would like to direct the popup window to open up in another webbrowser in my app (WebBrowser2 instead of WebBrowser1 for example) instead. How do i do this?
i've made a webbrowser and its simple and i make a code for the pop up window like open a newwindow of the webbrowser... however i will post my code and my pop up screen with the source code of the pop up
I have a webbrowser control (in fact, a control inheriting from webbrowser), and added a tooltip control to the main form. Then, I filled the webbrowser tooltip text. But the tooltip never shows. (because the web browsers manage mouse hover with html?)I examined all the events exposed on the webbrowser control, and there is not one about mouse hover.so, the question is: How do I show the tooltip? Should investigate HTML, or there is a .NET control way?
[code]The Me.DocumentCompleted works fine, and i have access to alot of webBrowser events. But Me.NewWindow is not recognized... web browsers should have a NewWindow event built in.. i have used it in other Vb.Net 2008 appsAny way i can get the NewWindow event?
My help files have a lot of image maps which link to popups, which I implemented as described in the Help for HHW. They work fine in the context of the help system, but if I open the html file in a browser (Firefox or IE), they don't work - nothing happens at all when I click on the hot spots.
How do i block popups on a tabbed webbrowser? I know how to do it on one thats not tabbed though. This is what i got so far but it shows an error that says exactly "Value of type 'System.Windows.Forms.Control' cannot be converted to 'System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventArgs.'"[code]
I'm trying to build a simple desktop application to keep users on a certain website. It's very simple, just a webbrowser control with right click disabled. However certain applications on our website require popup windows and those windows always open up a full browser window. [code]....
I'm trying to implement my own downloader. I have the download Form and I had a way to show it but, It's inefficent because, It just checked for ending extensions!I just want to cancel the download and show my downloader with the URL.[code]...
I'm making a web browser and am using the NewWindow event to open links and buttons in a new window. The problem is that it says, (Object is not a member of System.Windows.Forms.WebBrowser). Do I have to add a Reference to my application or something? Below is my code:Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow2(ByVal ppDisp As Object, ByVal Cancel As Boolean)
Dim frm As Form1 frm = New Form1 ppDisp = frm.WebBrowser1.Object FRM.WEBBROWSER1.OBJECT IS THE CODE THAT'S NOT WORKING. frm.Show() End Sub
I have a problem to handle an event on a custom control a have on a form.... So first i made a custom control that is just a groupbox with some labels and txtboxes. That control i add dynamically to my form like this (Baycontrol is the name of my control)
Declaration
Code: Friend Bay(29) As BayControl Add the controls to Form Code: For Simindex = 0 To 29 'Me.Bays - 1
I use VB.NET 2010 I have created a user control which holds a few textboxes, where the user can find articles. This user control is added to several Forms (where ever the search is needed). I have to handle the key down event of the user control, but it isn't working... The usercontrols's Key_Down Event is never fired. - I have set KeyPreview of the form to true, then the Key_Down of the Form is fired.
I have done this the other way many times as it makes sense (the page knows about the control as it has been added to the page and can handle the 'child' event)
Is it possible to do it the other way? I think not as the control doesn't know what page it is going to be on
The reason i ask this is that I have a modal popup on the page to ask users to login, and it is only when the user has logged in that I want my user control to go away and execute some code but I am not too sure how to tell the control this has happend?
I would like for my program to navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines and multiple url links inside of it. I know how to make the webbrowser1.navigate via textbox1.text with multiple lines, however I want my webbrowser to navigate to each url every 1-1.5 seconds once button1 is clicked. Yes, my webbrowser1 will navigate to the specified urls via the textbox1.text (multilines) with a button click, but I need the webbrowser1 to navigate in a order sequence from top to bottom of Textbox1.text (multiplelines) every 1 second. Here is the current code that I have to navigate via multilined textbox1.text control in order sequence:
I'm building a web browser using the WebBrowser control in a normal vb form. I would like to add an option where the user can view the source code for the page like in internet explorer.
I am using a VB.NET program that uses the WebBrowser control to navigate the Web. The site that I need to navigate to suddenly became not IE-friendly. So, I am thinking to try to make it look to the site that the WebBrowser control is not IE, but a Mozilla Firefox browser.[code]...
I have a windows form that have 5 webbrowser control. I also have serveral links of URLs and each webbrowser will open them. My problem is that after all links already opened, when I close my windows forms, sometimes my application suddenly open my default browser automatically and open url that on my URL list. I already tried to make all webbrowser to navigate to "about:blank"to make sure there are not loading any webpage before I close my application but the problem is still occur. This has given me a headache since this problem is not always occur when I close my application.
I want to move certain controls on a form when the webbrowesr controls' vertical scroll bar is scrolled. but there is no scroll event defined for the webbrowser control in .NET I am using Visual studio 2008 and VB.net.
I am trying to get the event firing when document is ready. Public Class Form1 'Declaration Public Event DocumentCompleted As WebBrowserDocumentCompletedEventHandler Private Sub Main(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Me.Load 'Dim frm As New Form1 'frm.Show() [Code].....
I have some experience developing for VBA inside Office apps, but I am quite new to VB.NET, and I just noticed that its WebBrowser control is a bit different from that one I used to reference via ShDocVw to use in my VBA Forms.ShDocVw.WebBrowser had the DocumentComplete event, which passed these arguments: URL as string and pDisp as object..NET WebBrowser has the DocumentCompleted event, in which i successfully found e.URL.ToString, but I couldn't find nothing similar to the pDisp object.
This is critical to me on migrating my project from VBA to VB.NET, for I need to handle particular IFrames when they complete loading, which I only could do by getting pDisp's document property. So I need help on learning how to do the same thing with this .NET WebBrowser control, and/or how to reference and use good ole ShDocVw.WebBroser in my Visual Studio project, to embed it in my forms.
I am using visual studio 2005. i am using webBrowser control to automate third party website. My problem is SelectedIndexChanged event is not getting fired. I used the code.[code]This code is changing the value in combo box but it is not firing the selectedindexchanged event. If i manualy select the item then after selecting a item it shows different message. How should i do it programatically.
First off I hope I'm in the right forum.I have an application I built with the WebBrowser control in Visual Basic 2005. I am using the DocumentComplete event to track when a page has fully finished loading as some of the webpages I need to work with have frames.
The problem I am having is that when some iframes time out or don't load, the documentcomplete events stop firing. So if my webpage has 2 frames on it, we'd expect 3 documentcomplete events. One for each frame and one for the parent document once the frames have loaded. If say frame 2 does not load properly, the documentcomplete event for the overall document never fires.
Tried to look for a solution for this problem everywhere and can't seem to find it?I have found solutions related to sub-classing the document, but this method results in a Null Exception as there is no document.
Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
AddHandler Me.WebBrowser1.Document.ContextMenuShowing, AddressOf WebContextMenuShowing WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Dispose() WebBrowser1.ContextMenu.Show(WebBrowser1, pas) End Sub
