View 1 Replies[Using VB.NET 2010 / targeting the .NET 2.0 framework]I'm getting some unexpected behavior with panel scrollbars, and was wondering if it is a bug, or simply something that I'm failing to do correctly.Basically, I have a panel with Autoscroll enabled. Then I put some other items inside the panel, and then make the panel smaller, so that the panel's scrollbars appear.
Outside of the panel I have 2 buttons -- named "scrollOn" and "scrollOff", which turn the panel's scrollbar's on and off using the "Autoscroll" property (for example the "scrollOff" code I'm using is Panel1.AutoScroll = False ).
So after I run the program, I move the panel's scrollbar down a little bit with the mouse (this part is necessary to reproduce the bug). I then click the "scrollOff" button (which should make the scrollbars disappear). But when I do that, the scrollbars are not only still visible, but they "freeze up" (can't move them with the mouse anymore).
I am using a flowpanellayout. I want to scroll the panel, but not using the scrollbars. (We are going to use a touch screen). I am going to use button to scroll up and down. How can I control that?

which populates a flow layout panel with a number of buttons. The number of buttons is completely dynamic (it's based on how many subfolders are in a given Directory.)What I want to be able to to is use two buttons to scroll up and down the panel, without the use of scrollbars.I've spent a good few hours looking around trying to find a solution (as well as messing around with the 'verticalscroll' properties of the panel with code, but with no success.
View 2 RepliesI place a panel control into my form to load other form. However, when I try to scroll down or scroll from left to right, the next time that I'm load to load the other form on the panel, both of the scrollbars are missing. What am I supposed to do?
View 5 Repliesduring the development of my project, i'm incurred in the need to use the flow layout panel, but the real need is to show these panels with a defined size without using scrollbars.
I think a kind of dynamic clip of these panels.
For example.
I've a flowlayoutpanel of this visible size (100,200) but its real height is 500, now i've to show to the users the other content of the panel, without using scrollbars.
I am using this code to clear the contents of my panel
For Each c As Control In PanelEdit.Controls
If TypeOf c Is RadTextBox Then
DirectCast(c, TextBox).Text = String.Empty
[Code]....
the idea is if a user opens a different panel and then comes back to the panel they were in all the data is cleared.
I am brand new to Vb.Net and was wondering how I could loop through each label and say if the label.text = 0 then Hide panel1. How would I get that accomplished?

I have a panel that Iv added some groups to dynamically. Inside this same panel I have another panel that is NOT visible. I also added some groups to this panel. I placed a button "btnMoreLess" that sets the nested/hidden panel .visible = true however I never see it appear. If I unnest the panels it seems to work, but does not have the effect I am looking for. I want all these groups to be inside the main panel, and have scrolling enabled. The hidden panel is set to autosize so it wont scroll. My thought is that when the click "btnMoreLess" the additional groups will become unhidden and cause the scrollbar on the main panel to appear with all the additional groups. Perhaps there is another method to do this?
View 6 RepliesI created a simple usercontrol AutoHidePanel by using toolStrip and a panel, which have to work like Solution Explorer. When the user click's the autohide pin the panel width will slowly minimized up to 3 pixels so that the user can't see that panel. when the mouse moves over to the control, It will appear as before and these functions are working fine.
But I have a prob. with below function. When the mouse leave the control, it should disappear again. so i wrote hide function in to the MouseLeave event of Both controls(Toolstrip and panel) Here the prob. begins, when the cursor moves from Panel to ToolsStrip or ToolStrip to Panel the MouseLeave event minimize the AutoHidePanel Control. I tryed this Hide Function in the MouseLeave event of my control AutoHidePanel but that dosen't even raises the event because the panel is filled in my control.

View 6 RepliesHow to hide or show rows in a table layout panel.
As I used rowstyle property and it works
But the issues are
1) It works very slow
2) It seems as form is vibrating and lightning behind the panel when rows are hiding or showing(jerky motion of hiding or showing)
I also used the control .visible property for each control of the row but it also make same problem of being slow

View 2 RepliesI'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?

View 15 RepliesI would like to add an effect where a panel sweeps out of the way to make room for another panel. This is sort of like a sliding effect, and I think at one point in time this could be seen on Apple's website under their product pages. I came up with some code, but it isn't working.

View 5 RepliesI have 2 richtextboxes on a form and I want to link their vertical scrollbars i.e. ifrichtextbox1's scroll bar is moved then richtextbox2's scroll bar moves by the same amount. The reason for this is that both richtextboxes will contain almost identical text barring a few differences in the second richtextbox. By linking the scroll bars my hope is that the user can better compare the textboxes for any differences between them. I have looked at trying to find a scroll bar property but can not find one. Does one exist?
View 1 RepliesI have MDI parent and child windows that were working fine but now clicking on a dropdown doesn't do anything, also scrollbars cannot be moved. Other controls are still ok, buttons and other links are still working. I should also note that if I change the child to load in a separate window all the controls work again.

I have a LIstView to display four columns. I have fixed the width of LIstView to 400 and this width is divied proportionately amongst the four columns . The code is working perfectly. The problem is with the horizontal bar on the bottom of LIstView. When the number of records to display in LIstview acceed the height of LIstView, the horizontal scrollbar hides some digits of the last column of listview and i have to scroll to right to see the whole contents of last column. settings in Properties Window or the code for seeing the entire last column without scrolling the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of LIstview.

I searched the forum for this and couldn't find anything. Maybe someone can help me on this.I have a child form that has a ToolStripConatiner that holds a ToolStrip, StatusStrip and a PictureBox. I need to have scrollbars when the picturebox is larger than the form. I set autoscrollbars to true on the form but after I added the toolstripcontainer, the scrollbars no longer appear.
The toolstripcontainer is not docked but is anchored to the top, left, bottom and right. I tried unanchoring from the right and bottom, but still no scrollbars.
Does anyone know of a way to make the scrollbars appear, or maybe I am doing this all wrong and can give me a clue.It all works like I want it to except the scrollbars do not appear anymore.

View 3 RepliesWhen a user is editing a given piece of data, they're allowed to add messages/comments. These are stored as child records in a SQL database. Clicking on the Add Message button brings up a panel (pnlMessage) courtesy of the AJAX ModalPopup Extender. This takes some input and, when the "Send Message" button in the panel is clicked (I learned the hard way to NOT make that the 'OkButton' property), the message is stored in the database and an email is sent to the intended recipients. No problem there.
However, I need to be able to allow the user to add new email addresses (so long as they are registered in our database). I have another ModalPopup / panel combo (pnlSearch) that's tied to a button on the previous panel (pnlMessage).
The user is supposed to be able to add an email or click on a search button to populate a list to choose from.
The pop-up panel (pnlSearch) comes up just fine, but clicking the "Lookup" button (which instigates the search and returns a collection of records that the user is supposed to pick from) closes the panel.
Previously, I ran into the problem of having the Button.Click event never firing when I put the Button into the "OkControlID" property (the CancelControlID works fine since I don't want to do anything). Removing the "OkControlID=Button" line allowed it to work perfectly with the Button.Click event firing as expected.
So now I have the Search panel with a button for "OK" and a button for "Search" - but the panel should stay up and visible after the Search.Click does it's thing. Am I missing some property that basically says "don't close the panel when this button is clicked"? Of course, if I bring up the panel again in the same session, the results from the previous effort are there (the search results).
I have a TopBar, A LeftBar, A VScrollBar, A HScrollBar and a Panel inside a SplitContainer Panel. The issue I'm having is that when my SplitContainer Panel is small enough to enable one of the ScrollBars, I will slide the ScrollBar and then when I resize the Split Panel, my Panel1 is staying where I scrolled it too.I'm having troubles thinking of the correct code to fix this.
