I am creating a TableLayout in which the rows and columns are set by the user at runtime. There initial controls on the form are rowsTextBox, columnsTextBox, button1 and tableLayoutPanel1.I modified some of the code from my initial program. Here's the old code.
Private Sub button1_Click(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) tableLayoutPanel1.RowCount = Integer.Parse(rowsTextBox.Text) tableLayoutPanel1.ColumnCount = Integer.Parse(columnsTextBox.Text)
I'm trying to do a school schedule with a Table Panel Layout, and i'm having some difficults. This is the code i have so far:
TableLayoutPanel1.ColumnCount = 7 TableLayoutPanel1.RowCount = 2 TableLayoutPanel1.CellBorderStyle = TableLayoutPanelCellBorderStyle.Single Dim label_seg As New Label()
I'm using a TLP and it contains controls that exceeds it's height, so it's normal for a vertical scrollbar to be displayed. So far so good, but i can't figure out why a horizontal scrollbar is also being displayed when my controls width do not exceed that of the TLP. Is there some way to remove this horizontal scrollbar?
I have a listbox populated with peoples names. When I click on a persons name in the listbox, a datagrid will unhide itslef, connect to a DB, and list all of the pictures that person has. All the pictures are stored on a drive in a folder named after the person. i.e. Greg Palinkas has 52 images stored in F:PicturesGregPalinkasImages.
I would like to display all of those pictures in a Table Layout Panel populated by the choice I made in the listbox, so if I select Greg Palinkas, the Data Grid is pupulated with the names of all the images i have, and the Table Layout Panel is populated with all the pictures I have in my GregPalinkasImages folder. I have got the Data Grid updating and running smoothly, but am lost as to how to get the images to come up.
I am writing a windows forms application in visual studio 2010 (using VB). I want to change the control shown in a particular cell of a Table Layout Panel at runtime. Like this...
If radiobutton1.checked then tablelayoutpanel1's cell 1,1 shows panelOne else tablelayoutpanel1's cell 1,1 shows panelTwo
I have a windows form that contains a table layout panel extending the whole form, the size of this table layout panel may change at run time according to it's content, how can I make it's parent form automatically take its size,
how to animation effect in win forms my main form 4 buttons and 4 panels each button click i need to show appropriate Panel can show n hide the panel with some animation effect how to do this
I need a help with showing/hiding rows in datagridview by setting the trackbar value. The below example works if there are not too much rows. If there are greater number of rows then after you change a value of trackbar you must wait for a few seconds for the datagridview to redraw and only then you can use trackbar again.Apparently I must use multithreading to achieve what I want: when I use trackbar, datagridview starts to redraw, but if I use trackbar again before datagridview finishes redrawing, it immediately stops redrawing according to previous trackbar value and starts to redraw from the beginning according to current trackbar value. That way trackbar will never be frozzen (stuck, unusable...).I tried with backgroundworker but got error "Cross-thread operation not valid: Control '' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on." I have old and slow computer. If you have new and fast computer maybe you wont experience what I'm describing here so try to increase number of added rows in line 'For i As Integer = 1 To 5000' (I added 5000 rows here) - and if you have even older and slower computer than you will have to decrease this value or you will have to wait to long after you drag the thumb in trackbar.
I use a Repeater that's databound to a DataRowCollection and programatically build a table through that. I have something similar to: Private Sub SubAcctGrid_OnItemDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As RepeaterItemEventArgs) If e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.AlternatingItem Or e.Item.ItemType = ListItemType.Item Then Dim currentrow = TryCast(e.Item.DataItem, DataRow) Dim acctSummaryTable = New Table With {.ID = "acctSummary" & e.Item.ItemIndex, .CssClass = "minisub_acct_table"} [Code] .....
I can't pass in the correct element ID, though. From what I understand, ASP.NET transforms the ID I assign into some huge long ID for the sake of uniqueness. For example, I assign a table with the ID 'drillDownTable0' and it spits out 'ctl00_drillDownTable0' in the HTML markup. It worked the first time around, but then the Repeater gets binded to a new row and then I get 'ctl01_drillDownTable0' so on and so forth. I've tried the ClientID, ID, and UniqueID where I add the attributes to the Cells in the code above and they don't do what I need to. Is there any way I can get that ID and pass it to the Javascript function? Or I guess a better question is: When are the IDs generated and can I get to them before the page is rendered in HTML?
My problem with AddNew. It really is somewhat simple, but I can't figure out the solution. I have a form where I show a list of my rows with a given a table. The user can then select a row and press clone, which then will try to make a copy of that row.
Here is a snippet:
Dim rowToCopy As cmaDBDataSet.cmaPropertyRecRow Dim originalID, newID As Integer rowToCopy = CType(CType(Me.CmaPropertyRecBindingSource.Current, DataRowView).Row, cmaDBDataSet.cmaPropertyRecRow) originalID = rowToCopy.id ' id of row to be copied
[CODE]...
.... and continue to copy the rest of the data to the newrow...One of the items in the row is obviously a primary key called id. I can not copy this data since I am creating a new row. My problem is, how do I set that value!? or atleast retrieve the value for the newly added table. I need that value so that I can call another form to actually allow the user to modify this newly cloned data. I tried using EndEdit, UpdateAll, no worky. THen I thought I could assume that the newly added row would go at the end of the table so I used MovedLast then got the currentRow id from there... That worked well until we did some deletes within the table.
I have 5 flowLayoutPanels and 5 PictureBoxes i want to be able to move anyone of the picture boxes over anyone the FLP at run time and have the layout panel add it to FLP.controls.Add()....
I've been at it for Hours and now ill swallow my pride -
I have done the following To get it working, but here i have to manually specify which PixBox intersects with which FLP and i dont want 25 if statements [code...]
I have a program with three tabs. On tab one I use a folder browser dialogue and load file names into a listbox. These are usually ".tif" image files but could be other image formats. I save the folder location in a variable. On tab 2 I have a Flow Layout Panel. I need to 1) use that folder location on tab 1 as the source of files to be loaded into the flow layout panel and have it do so when I use the Folder Browser Dialogue; 2) I need to click on these tab2 images (in the Flow Layout Panel) to select them, and to trigger events. Mainly create a list of selected image thumbnails.
I have been trying to understand how to make thumbnails that I create from a directory, and place in a flow layout panel, selectable. That is, when someone klicks one of the thumbnails that thumbnail should be selected and, either automatically or by the click of a button, a new window (picture viewer) opens and shows the original picture. This is probably very easy to implement, but I am at a loss for the moment.I've tried to find an answer to this by searching the forums, but nothing good has been found so far.
[Code]...
The above code works perfectly and creates thumbnails from the directory c: emp and whatever subdirectory the user writes in the textbox (textbox2). No problem here, it is how to proceed to the next level that has got me stumped. As stated I want the user to be able to select one of the thumnails to get a better look at it in another window. So in selecting it, the procedure should get the path to the original image, and the rest is magic.
during the development of my project, i'm incurred in the need to use the flow layout panel, but the real need is to show these panels with a defined size without using scrollbars.
I think a kind of dynamic clip of these panels.
For example.
I've a flowlayoutpanel of this visible size (100,200) but its real height is 500, now i've to show to the users the other content of the panel, without using scrollbars.
I'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?
I'm working on a visual studio 2008 VB.Net project (.net framework 2.0), and am having some trouble with the Panel control using a fixedsingle border. As a small example of the problem, suppose I have one Panel2 contained inside of Panel1. If the Left position of panel2 is set to 0 (meaning it's border is up against the left edge of Panel1), the left border will show as bold, and slightly indented.
<Global.Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.DesignerGenerated()> _ Partial Class Form1 Inherits System.Windows.Forms.Form[code].....
What I'd like to see is just a single line, not bold or indented, where the two panels borders are equal. Is there a property or custom paint technique I could use to achieve this behavior?
I'm just learning VB & ASP.NET and read a lot about making multi language websites. I understand the principes of creating resource file etc...But what with tables in de database that are used to fill f.e. a listbox ?
Example : an employee has a function
In the database I have a table "Functions" with an ID and a description of the function.Should I design my table Functions as this :
ID Description_en-US Description_de-DE Description_nl-BE ...
I have Dataset ds filled up with values Until now I was displaying values in GridView. Now I want that all the rows should be columns and columns should be rows.I have 2 options: Either 1 I can directly convert grid to columns and display it, or 2 I can convert the GridView to html and then write loops to convert. I was trying the 2nd option but I cant figure out how I should do that.[code]With this code I am still getting same as GridView. Please help me for converting rows to columns and vice versa.
I am brand new to Vb.Net and was wondering how I could loop through each label and say if the label.text = 0 then Hide panel1. How would I get that accomplished?
I have a panel that Iv added some groups to dynamically. Inside this same panel I have another panel that is NOT visible. I also added some groups to this panel. I placed a button "btnMoreLess" that sets the nested/hidden panel .visible = true however I never see it appear. If I unnest the panels it seems to work, but does not have the effect I am looking for. I want all these groups to be inside the main panel, and have scrolling enabled. The hidden panel is set to autosize so it wont scroll. My thought is that when the click "btnMoreLess" the additional groups will become unhidden and cause the scrollbar on the main panel to appear with all the additional groups. Perhaps there is another method to do this?
I need to generate a table from a List(Of Students). My Student class has properties for AcademicYear, TeachingSet, Surname and Forenames, is sorted in that order and also properties for ID and start date. The table should nest TeachingSets within AcademicYears and then the students within the TeachingSets, as shown in the table I've mocked up at http:[url]...
