Show / Hide Datagridview Rows By Setting Trackbar Value
Feb 2, 2012
I need a help with showing/hiding rows in datagridview by setting the trackbar value. The below example works if there are not too much rows. If there are greater number of rows then after you change a value of trackbar you must wait for a few seconds for the datagridview to redraw and only then you can use trackbar again.Apparently I must use multithreading to achieve what I want: when I use trackbar, datagridview starts to redraw, but if I use trackbar again before datagridview finishes redrawing, it immediately stops redrawing according to previous trackbar value and starts to redraw from the beginning according to current trackbar value. That way trackbar will never be frozzen (stuck, unusable...).I tried with backgroundworker but got error "Cross-thread operation not valid: Control '' accessed from a thread other than the thread it was created on." I have old and slow computer. If you have new and fast computer maybe you wont experience what I'm describing here so try to increase number of added rows in line 'For i As Integer = 1 To 5000' (I added 5000 rows here) - and if you have even older and slower computer than you will have to decrease this value or you will have to wait to long after you drag the thumb in trackbar.
Is it possible to add a button column to a datagridview and then remove a select group of these from rows without removing the rows themselves? That is, I want the ability to hide or remove these buttons in certain rows after certain actions have occured. I realized that I could simply delete the rows with these buttons, but I want to keep the data in these rows visible without the user thinking they have to use the buttons. I am assuming that I can also disable the buton in the desired rows as well.
I searched for this topic and all the examples are in C# (and they have errors as they will not convert with a C# to VB converter). I am using VB.net 2005 and would like a sample that work for it. I have a loop that goes thru the DataGridView and changes the row color based on a column/cell value from the binded DataTable (shown below). I'd like to add to the loop (where the comment is) and also hide the button for this cell and let the "In Process" show in the cell instead.
Private Sub ColorInProcessItems() ' Color the rows green if they are In Process, red if they are Complete For Each row As DataGridViewRow In dgvQueue.Rows
I fill the DGV by looping through a dataset and adding a DGV row for each datarow. After this the DGV.RowCount = DataSet.Rows.Count. Funny thing is that the DGV shows only a part of it (19 of 2448 in my example). After some testing I figured out that the rows show up if I change the Window size a bit.So now I use a work-around by including the following code after I've filled the DGV:[code]
I'm curious if it is possible to hide a group of text boxes from view in a form until a particular condition is met, and to have a custom set of text boxes for that condition. To give an example; I want radio buttons offering choices for a manner of searching records, the user selects one and then a specific set of text boxes are displayed for the user to utilize, if a different option is chosen a different set of text boxes will be shown. Is this something that can be done?
I have two datagridview's both are databound. First one shows items for sale and the second stores all the items that were sold. I am trying too transfer selected rows from one to the other but no matter what I keep getting told "Rows cannot be programmatically added to the DataGridView's rows collection when the control is data-bound."
Our site is developing against a 3rd party API (Wonderware) that returns datasets and datatables from certain calls. The issue we are having with some of the calls is the data returned is more than we want to show to the end users. We are binding the data to a datagrid, and will sometimes get back 20+ columns of data we don't need to show. Is there a way to filter the datatable of columns before binding it to the datagrid? Right now we are using the datagrid to hide the columns, but I think it would be better to strip out the columns of data we don't need before binding to the grid.
Now hide my Paylist row with InvNomer where InvNomer in Payment.DGV.rows(i).cell(1).value I Have tried
Private Sub cmdPaylist_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles cmdPaylist.Click If pbNew Then Dim AllItems As String = ""
How would i delete only the successful inserted rows for insert and then move the non successful rows up and allow the user to correct the data and get it ready for an insert. If i dont delete the successful rows then i will have multiple inserts of the same dataRow and we dont want that! AND if i dont move the data up then it will have blank rows uptop and will end the try and not insert the corrected data. You can better see what logic i am trying to perform at the bottom of my code, right after I insert into the database. Here is my code.
Private Sub btnLaserGenerateTicket_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnLaserGenerateTicket.Click 'Function declarations

If i click 3101 Button then the corresponding "31" rows should be display. If again click same Button the corresponding "31" rows should be Hide.
I have a problem to show and hide some div. The only thing i have is a span with a class. Where we need to click on, to show or hide the div below the parent h2 I can't add some classe's to the h2 or div (this come from some cms, where we can't add a css class), so we need to do it with some jquery.
<div> <h2> <span class="h2toggle">Heading (This shows an hide the div below)</span> </h2>
Just playing around with VB and have made a program for playing "pairs". The program displays lots of face down cards, then the user can click on them to reveal their face and try to find pairs. This is done by hiding or showing the "card reverse" picture
If the user finds a pair, the cards should stay face up, however if they do not match, they should be returned to facing down.
The pictures need to be loaded dynamically through an array...
The code I have so far is as follows...
Form1...
Code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

I want to create a button that can hide an exe application. As example: this application will start spider.exe when page loads. I need a button that can hide & show the spider.exe. How can I do it with VB.NET, C#, or Java?
i was wondering this: what is the difference as in response.. should i use the .visible or the .show/.hide option.. by setting the .visible to true/false, the controls (in my case) will only appear visible or not.. by setting them to .show./hide, i guess they unload from the form, and reload in their previous state.. do correct me on this .. is this more memory use than the .visible option or the other way? i am currently designing a project containing a lot of panels/buttons/etc., that has the .visible option included for these controls. should i be using the .show/.hide option instead, or does it even make a difference, since i cannot tell from the response of my project when using either/or..
I want to create a simple utility app that emulates a right click on the desktop -> view -> show desktop icons - so I can by the click of one button hide and show the desktop icons.[code]...
I'm building a console application. How can i hide the window for like 10 seconds and then show it again? This code is only working on a form not a console application:
Private Sub FavoritesToolStripMenuItem1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles FavoritesToolStripMenuItem1.Click FavoritesToolStripMenuItem1.Visible = False
