Clear The Immediate Window Programmatically?

Jul 11, 2006

I am trying to figure out how to programmatically clear the Immediate Window. My plan is to add the code to a macro that will run everytime the debugger starts so I can start with an empty Immediate window.I used SendKeys to do this in VB6 but it doesn't work in DotNet 2005.It throws up a messagebox saying that "SendKeys cannot run inside this application because it is not handling windows messages. Either change the application to handle windows messages, or use the SendKeys.SendWait method".

Find The Handle Of The Child Window For The Yes Button In The User Account Control Window?

Mar 20, 2010

I am trying to find the handle of the child window for the Yes button in the User Account Control window so i can click it. This window has a structure with a few child windows with the same name.

Dim hwnd As IntPtr = FindWindow(Nothing, "User Account Control")
Dim hwnd2 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd, 0, "DirectUIHWND", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd3 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd2, 0, "CtrlNotifySink", vbNullString)
Dim hwnd4 As IntPtr = FindWindowEx(hwnd3, 0, "Button", "&Yes")

There are multiple CtrNotifySink with its own Button child window or other child windows. How do i search thru the different CtrNotifySink window to find the one that contain the Yes button so i can send a click to it? I do need to find it before i can send a click, right? because i try just sending it to the main window with sendmessage and nothing happen.I even try sending it directly to the handle found by spy++ of the yes button with bm click but nothing happen?

Programmatically Maximize An External Application's Window?

Sep 4, 2009

I have an application right now that starts a process, then opens a file associated with that process (system.diagnostics.process.start("WM.exe")), however, the way they save, there is a window within a window. It's like in photoshop cs3 when you have many windows within the big window of the application. Right now I use an api call to findwindow which is the application itself, but within that I need to find the subwindow, of which I know the apptitle, and then I need to set its windowstate to maximized. Does anyone know how this can be done? I think there's a way to hook a handle, but how does one also maximize?

Containing A Date Textbox And A Submit Button And A Close Window Button?

Apr 23, 2010

I have a form containing a date textbox and a submit button and a close window button. The date textbox onblur calls a javascript function which checks for date validation and some other logic and displays some alert messages. The date on the textbox is always selected and onfocus. My problem is when I try to click the close window button with/without changing the date the alert messages from the onblur logic are displaying and I am unable to close the window. I tried using onchange instead of onblur but onchange too works when a control looses focus. it works fine when I donot change the date but when I change the date and hit the close window button it too displays the alert messages and the window does not close. Please suggest me what will be my best option.

Create A Button Or Label That Is On A Form That Has Also Been Created Programmatically

Sep 11, 2009

I have code that refers to controls like buttons and labels and textboxes (obviously), but i want to create them programatically, how can i create a button or label that is on a form that has also been created programatically. Here is what i have:

Dim frmIndashone As Windows.Forms.Form
Dim vscPage As Windows.Forms.ScrollBar
Dim lblPageNum As Windows.Forms.Label
Dim txtVector As Windows.Forms.TextBox
Dim txtPageCode As Windows.Forms.TextBox

I am asking because i have a With statement that assigns different values to the different things that looks like this below:

RaiseEvent Load(frmIndashone)
With frmIndashone
.vscPage.min = 1

[code]....

But i am told on everyline of the second snippet that vdcPage, lblPageNum, txtVector and txtPageCode are not members of windows.Forms.Form, How can i make them members?

Create A Window/Form Within The Edit Button That Would Say  Something Like "select Excel Sheet" Along With A Save Button?

Jul 28, 2010

I am busy with a Windows Forms application. The purpose of the application is to convert Excel documents to HTML format so that they can be published to a website.I have most of the code finished and the application is looking really good.I have although encountered a problem. On the Form I have created an Export, File and Edit button. With the edit button I would like the user to be able to select whether they would like to save the 1st,2nd,3rd sheet and so forth.

I would like to create a window/Form within the edit button that would say something like "select excel sheet" along with a save button where the required sheet number could be saved or selected as a standard save procedure everytime.I know that I need to do this with the settings.settings control. I have tried numerous ideas up until now but it continues to baffle me.

Disabling Close Button(X) Of Window?

Apr 15, 2009

I am trying to work on an application that disables the close button (X) on the upper right hand corner of a window. In order to do that I need to use calls to API methods like GetSystemMenu, EnableMenuItem and RemoveMenu. I can figure out how these methods work but there are certain parameters that these methods have whose values that need to be passed to them as argument is unknown to me. How can I know them.

E.G.- for EnableMenuItem, the parameters are- hMenu (handle to the menu), uIDEnableItem (The menu item to be enabled, disabled, or grayed), uEnable (This parameter must be a combination of at least two of the following:

MF_BYCOMMAND or MF_BYPOSITION
MF_ENABLED, MF_DISABLED, or MF_GRAYED)

Now when I call this method from my application I supply the current window handle as the first argument, the item no. to be disabled/enabled as the second argument but I CAN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT TO SEND AS THE THIRD ARGUMENT. What exactly are the possible values for those parameters- MF_BYCOMMAND or MF_DISABLED. I checked certain examples where they are supplying hexadecimal values like &HF060, &H1, 0x400, 0x1000, 0x2 etc. or integer values like 1024, 2 etc. But how would I know what exactly these values are and when to use which value. The same problem arises in case of calling RemoveMenu method. If you know about any chart or tutorial that lists the values of these parameters

Createwindowex To Create A Button On An External Window

May 3, 2009

I'm using createwindowex to create a button on an external window. I can use Spy++ to see all of the messages the button is sending to the parent window. The problem I'm having is catching these messages from the parent window.I've been trying a lot of different methods, and just when I think one is working, something still isn't quite right. Right now, I am using a hook dll made with c#, and it seems to be working somewhat. It seems like it is a lot more than should be needed for what I'm doing.I originally thought I could just use wndproc to catch all of the messages, but I found that it doesn't catch external windows messages(unless i'm doing something wrong). Is there anyone that can point me in the right direction to create a button on an external window, then catch the messages when it is clicked.
