Apr 6, 2011I am tring to load a picturebox through code and have found a lot of metthods on the net and in books I have, but nothing works. I either just get a picturebox with no image in it (and no errors), or I the things they suggest does not exist. For example, a few places suggested that this should work Picturebox.picture = LoadPicture("C:myImage.jpg"), here I get an error basicly saying that this function does not exist., and the extention Picture does not exist either. I do not know if I need a special reference or what; but it seems like this should be simple to do

Jun 18, 2009I've got a form with a TabControl. PictureBoxes (containing thumbnails) are added to each TabPage thru a loop. A click event Handler is added for each PictureBox. When a PictureBox is clicked, a new form is created thru code and a PictureBox is added to it that shows the pictures enlarged. What I need is to add another Handler to the PictureBox in the code-generated form so that I can rotate the pictures because some of them (photographs) were taken with the camera at 90 degree angles from vertical. I've tried to come up with a solution but I always run into the problem of the PictureBox on the code-generated form needing to be declared WithEvents before a Handler can be added.

Nov 19, 2011I have forms with multiple pictureboxes, labels, etc. They are all numbered, for example, pb_QL01 to pb_QL99, or lb_Main01 to lb_Main29. In the old days, I could reference the properties of these in code using, for example, Me.Controls(a).Image where 'a' was the string of the name of the object (e.g. "pb_QL23"). So, I get it that you can't do this anymore in QB2008 (too bad). I need to set the properties in loops. [Code]
but it takes a long time to cycle through all of my controls, and there are some properties that will not work (like mycontrol.image), image not an option. So, is there an easy way to get this done? I don't want to add the controls in code, since they already exist on the form. If I have to use collections (which I'd prefer not to if there is an analogous way to the old way of passing the name of the control in code with a string, but if I need to, how do I get this to work.

May 10, 2012I am programming with Access 2007 VB.net in Visual Studio 2010.I am trying to have my VB program read the database, extract the .bmp image, and assign it to a PictureBox on the fly (I am actually creating a Group on the fly and filling it with data from the database that are selected by my query. One of the fields is "image". All of my other fields are successfully transferring from the DB to the group box.) 2 Clients Connected Via Server / Network Code Causes Slowdown Of Picturebox Movement
Aug 10, 2011I have 2 clients connected via a server program.When 1 client hits an arrow key, a picturebox moves on client1 and on client2.Before adding this network functionality, the picturebox on client1 moved fast with each click.Now, there is a delay of like 2-3 seconds.I know the code isn't optimal, but i'm not a networking wizard.What i'm doing is when pressing a key on client 1, it passes a text to a textbox in client 2 which then has the picturebox move in client 2 depending on the text.The slowdown occurs on client 1, which is odd because the picturebox isn't directly connected to the network code.[code]

FOr example: you enter "John Wow", then the Label will display "JW". I know that I'm supposed to use the Substring method. But to use the Substring, I have to have the exact location of the Leter that is going to be displayed in the Label.The problem is: the name that the user enters always vary.
