Create A Button Or Label That Is On A Form That Has Also Been Created Programmatically

Sep 11, 2009

I have code that refers to controls like buttons and labels and textboxes (obviously), but i want to create them programatically, how can i create a button or label that is on a form that has also been created programatically. Here is what i have:

Dim frmIndashone As Windows.Forms.Form
Dim vscPage As Windows.Forms.ScrollBar
Dim lblPageNum As Windows.Forms.Label
Dim txtVector As Windows.Forms.TextBox
Dim txtPageCode As Windows.Forms.TextBox

I am asking because i have a With statement that assigns different values to the different things that looks like this below:

RaiseEvent Load(frmIndashone)
With frmIndashone
.vscPage.min = 1

[code]....

But i am told on everyline of the second snippet that vdcPage, lblPageNum, txtVector and txtPageCode are not members of windows.Forms.Form, How can i make them members?

Label Size - Drag The Label Object From The Toolbox And Drop In The Tab Control Container

Feb 4, 2007

I have been using vb6 for a while, I am following a tutorial by MS to develop a basic application and a simple task cannot be completed for whatever reasons! The tutorial asks to drag the label object from the toolbox and drop in the tab control container. Then, go to the label size property and adjust the size to some different dimansion. Basic stuff, right? It won't let me do it! After I enter the new dimensions (which by the way are not large or very small), the label size (both width and height) resets back to its original dimensions! I have the vb.net sp1 installed.

VS 2010 - Literal - How To Refer To A Label Programmatically Using Access Database

Mar 9, 2012

I have names of all labels in a table of an Access database (one field is a form name- it can be repeated, the second field is a label name - it must be unique for the same form, the third field is a text of this label). E.g. the first record has field1="Form1", field2="Label1", field3="Smith" My question: How can I refer to a label programmatically using the Access database? E.g. Form1.Label1.Text= "Smith" In C languge there was the opportunity "remove the quotation marks" from the text ("Label1") and get the literal (Label1). Is this opportunity in VB.NET?

Forms :: Make A Label Control Transparent Over A Panel Control?

Jul 9, 2009

I'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control. However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.

As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the forms colour as blue. However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.

Create A Project Programmatically?

Sep 17, 2010

I'm currently working on building a program that will take a MS Access database system produced by my company and create a VB.Net project with all the forms in it (obviously the code should be manually done, but to save time the forms and controls can be produced automatically).I have tried Googling and seem not to be able to find anything about this (which probably means I wasn't searching with the right keywords), I was wondering whether anyone knows any good resources on how to create the VB.Net project programmatically as I already know how to do all the access stuff.

Adding Programmatically A Control On Top Of Others?

Dec 14, 2011

I'm looking for adding a control on top of others controls during runtime.

I read that the only way of playing with the Z-Order of controls is by playing with the order of the controls inside the Form.Controls Collection. I find this solution very weird and weak and I'm looking for an alternative.

Does anyone has an idea? I just want to make some kind of modal dialog that'll show below another user control to notice the user that the user control is currently doing something.

Edit: I tried using Control.BringToFront() but it doesn't work at all.

Create Access Databases Programmatically?

Jun 7, 2010

I need to make an application that from a master database creates a number of access database files (tables of a larger db), then these are manually given to users who fill in data, the database files are emailed back to a user who, through the application, combines them again. The only part of this that I am unsure about is problematically creating the access db's. I have read that through Microsoft Jet OLE DB Provider and Microsoft ADO Ext I can create them (the tables and data), but I also need forms.
