VS 2010 Repeating Columns At Report Header

May 16, 2011

I'm new to VS 2010 reports. I build an rdlc report based on a a table with 18 columns. From these colums, 3 of them allways have the same content so i would like to put them at the report header. When i do this i get a page for each single record, which is understandable. I worked with other tools that allow me to build report headers beased on SQL queries but it seems that VS does not allow such thing. Will be there any way to achieve what i want?

Change Font Color Of DataGridView Header Text For Read Only Columns?

Jan 9, 2012

How to change the font color of the column header text in my datagridview if the entire column is read-only. I basically use a loop to add columns to my datagridview and then set the properties of the columns. But for some reason setting the DefaultCellStyle.ForeColor and HeaderCell.Style.ForeColor properties does not work. The header text is still black.[code]...

DataGridView And XP Styles - Set The Header Columns To Speccific Colors After The Grid Is Filled/

Feb 17, 2012

In my datagrid view I set the header columns to speccific colors after the grid is filled:

frmMain.DataGridView1.Columns(gridCols.availableCGWP).HeaderCell.Style.BackColor = My.Settings.colorCgwp
frmMain.DataGridView1.Columns(gridCols.availableLacRec).HeaderCell.Style.BackColor = My.Settings.colorFiles
frmMain.DataGridView1.Columns(gridCols.availableCM).HeaderCell.Style.BackColor = My.Settings.colorCM[code]...

This has worked fine, until I set the "Enable XP visual styles" on the project properties page. With this set, the colors dissapear from the header (although they still show up correctly in the grid). If I turn the flag off, the header colors are back to normal.

Flatten An XML File To CSV Format?

Feb 4, 2010

how to flatten an XML file to CSV format. I have worked on this all day today, and although I've found some simple examples, my issue is slighlty different. Please see example below...

[code]...

Notice that the data node has several different structure of child node. Is it possible to write XSL to flatten this?Second question is it possible to write the XSL in a generic way so that it doesn't need to be aware of node names and therefore just works for any XML fed in?

How To Best Flatten A Tab-delimited Table

Aug 3, 2010

Here's an example data table (the data are fake, but in the same format as my business data coming from an external system):

R1 Pears,Apples,Bananas 10
Oranges 5
R2 Apricots 15

[code]....

The data are in a string. Columns are tab-delimited, lines are CRLF-delimited. Output should be the same. Multiple values are comma-delimited.

Here's the "flattened" output desired:

R1 Pears 10
R1 Apples 10
R1 Bananas 10

[code]....

Each column is filled down where there are blanks, and columns with multiple values (comma-delimited) are duplicated and filled down in the other columns.Complicating assumption: the number of columns in the input is arbitrary.Simplifying assumption: only one column will be comma-delimited.I'm working through this with a relatively naive solution (loops and some recursion), but I'd love to see if this is a situation where LINQ or some other solution would be more appropriate.I'm working in VB.NET at the moment, but C# is fine too.

Public Shared Function FlattenPlainTextTable(ByVal InputTable As String) As String
Const RowDelimiter As String = vbCRLF
Const ColDelimiter As String = vbTab

[code]....

Page Header Of An Excel Spreadsheet - Using Header Text As Tab Name

Oct 21, 2009

I'm using the following code to populate a DataGridView with a worksheet. This is working fine, however, I'm unsure how I can get the Text from the page header. (not to be confused with the column header). Later in my code when I am exporting into an existing workbook with a new worksheet, I'm wanting to use the header text as the tab name. The header text being "September 2009" so that when I import/manipulate/export october, the new tab will be "October 2009" etc. [Code]

Flatten A Dictionary Of Dictionaries And Sum The Values Of The Inner Dictionary With LINQ?

Apr 16, 2012

I have the following object:

countDictionary As Dictionary(of Category, Dictionary(of Date, Integer))

The Class has a Enumeration Property. For the purposes of demonstration, I'll call it MasterCategory.I have been trying to get out an object that looks like the following:

groupedCountDictionary As Dictionary(of MasterCategory, Dictionary(of Date, Integer)

The best result I could get was:

Lookup(of MasterCategory, Dictionary(of Date, Integer))

From:

countDictionary.ToLookup(Function(o) o.Key.MasterCategory, Function(o) o.Value)

Which results in a IEnumerable (Of Dictionary(of Date, Integer)) for each MasterCategory value. However, I need that IEnumerable of Dictionary flattened to one dictionary with all the integers summed (total counts) for each date. I then tried to use various selects and group bys (from numerous stackoverflow posts) to "flatten" it, but my efforts have fallen short.

Current Code

[Category Class]
- MasterCategory As Enum
- Name As String etc
