I am developing an app which has a TabControl and Several TabPages. However when I switch the taps to be dislayed on the side I am left with a large amount of empty space. I am unable to move the TabPage to remove the empty space.

the replace method:

and with regex using its replace with : "/ss+/" - regular expression.
but I am still stuck with empty strings such as :

these string have lengths ranging between 3 and 8, so I have tried to adapt the replace function with something like this:

I've always use String.IsNullOrEmpty to check for a empty string. It recently come to my attention that a " " count as not a empty string. For example,
Dim test As String = " "
If String.IsNullOrEmpty(test) Then
MessageBox.Show("Empty String")

It will show "Not Empty String". So how do we check for " " or " " in a string?
edit: I wasn't aware that " " count as character.
To create a string of space characters to a given length using the MS VB namespace I used,
Strings.Space(Length)But without the VB namesapce, how do I do the same thing, is it like this?...

A tabcontrol's backgroundimage caused severe flicker problems when resizing a windows form. By setting that property to NONE at designtime and that adding it at the very end of the processing pipeline & after the window had been maximized, the flicker problem on initial form load was solved.
HOWEVER, now when a tabpage resize event is fired, I would like to remove that image at the beginning of the resize and add it back to the tabpage at the end of the resize event. The following code however does NOT work. I get an error in the resize event, Property cannot be found.

I got a text box and a panel.The textbox is at the bottom, and the panel is above it, making a open white space above it.The thing I want, is that when i type "run" into the textbox.The empty space should start displaying messages of its actions.Just like in command prompt.If you open a cmd window. (make it small) then type in "ipconfig" (as an example), the text that shows up, makes the scroll bar, follow it down.

The problem is that the background image of the panel is only visible behind buttons....but not in empty space....The app is running fine on Windows 7 but the problem comes on XP....I have tried "Enable XP Visual Styles" but no luck....When i dock a button to fill all empty space then the background image is visible....but if i remove the button ... background image is not visible....

Each description can contain spaces so I can't remove the spaces before splitting by comma to add the single quotes around each description. I am using TextFieldParser to Read a Tab Delimited Text DataFile. The problem I have is that some times the data file (3rd party provided) contains an extra Tab which therefore creates an extra column. I need to remove this unnecessary column. Some columns will have rows that are empty so I cant just delete the column if it has a blank row, So I think I need to loop through each column and if if every row is blacnk then delete that column.

View 11 RepliesI am using System.Windows.Forms.TabPage to store an entire TabPage for later use in My.Settings. Here is a brief description of the application.
I have a TabControl that has 3 tabs. One for user input, another tab for equipment settings, and then a final tab for Oven settings. On the user input tab, if the user de-selects the checkbox for Oven, the oven tab is saved to My.Settings and hidden.
I can then run the application without oven control. After running, lets say the user would like to re-run, this time with the oven. They go back to the input tab and re-select the Oven checkbox. However, the Oven tab doesn't re-appear. When stepping through the code, the is nothing stored in My.Settings for the oven tab page. Why not?
Also, I can open the application, and check, then uncheck the oven checkbox and the tab is hidden, then returns. I can do this all day. However, after running the tab will not return.
