Basically, i don't want to use <input type="submit"> mainly because it's a button, i'd rather user ActionLink, so i am using Ajax.ActionLink, and i'm not sure what to place in the routeValues argument for it to pickup the new (edited) data (user enters comments etc) and send it to my action.this is what i have, but of course, it sends the original comment before user edit back to the server/action :)
<%= Ajax.ActionLink("Update", "UpdateComment", Model.Comment,
New AjaxOptions With
{.UpdateTargetId = Model.CommentDivId, .HttpMethod = "Post"})%>
ps: i know how to do this in javascript, and doing ajax posts etc,

This is pankaj, I am currently working on the printing project. Here I have creating a custom paper(height =
1000mm and width = 800mm) on the printer via code and then trying to print the text on a specific location (for
example. top = 1cm and left = 1cm). It does not print the text After trying many time i found that printable area,
created by the code, is not changed but it is changing height and width as custom paper i have given in the code. But still it's printable area remains the same as previous paper

I want to print bill on a roll paper using vb.net. The requirements are as follows: The width of the page is 300 pixels or 3 inches. The height of the page is variable, depending on the number of the rows in the datagrid. The page header will have an image. The names of the items could be long, so they should not be chopped, rather print on the next line.
How should I go about it?

I have a problem regarding bill printing on roll paper. My printer is Epson LX-300+II, my roll paper is about 3" width, and is used for printing bill/invoices for the customers. The number of items varies.Whenever I finished printing the bill, the printer throws out/ejects the paper, as long as about a letter (11") size. Whatever the ways to achieve this, I just want the printer stop printing/ejecting after the last line, then i can tear off the bill for my customers without wasting paper.
I'm really wondering someone out there could help me.. I have worked hard for this, and searched in internet, but it seems that there's no applicable and clear solution. If the solution is in VB, please give me the code to implement this, or give me a very simple example application.I cannot make a custom size in my printing preference.

i have another problem with my program. I need to print a textbox that contain some data (of course). The textbox is formatted like this:
HEADER
Data1 Data2 Data3
Data4 Data5 Data6
Etc...
FOOTER
I managed to print the file using the DocumentPrint object. But there's a problem :) i need this data to be printed in a tabular form (just like an excel sheet). Because the lenght of Data1, Data2, etc.. strings is different i can't just use space characters to divide "columns". I have no idea where to start..

I would like to use a treeview control to display related data as Folders(Level0), Projects(Level1), Drawings(Level2). So far I don't have a problem reading data from a database, creating classes to hold the data and displaying the tree from the class data. I have created (3) contect menu strips, one for each level of the tree to perform various tasks. Each menu has an ADD option to either add a folder, add a project or add a drawing.My problem is as follows...After I add the node, in the correct location, I would like to have it set in the BeginEdit mode.
Dim oNode As New TreeNode
oNode = TreeView1.SelectedNode.Nodes.Add(sNextID, "New Project")
oNode.ImageIndex = 1
TreeView1.Refresh()
[code]....
After this code runs, the node.Text changes back to "New Project". As you can see, I added a few debug.print statements to try to see what is going on. It really blew my mind to see that the entire tree printed in the immediate window.I have already created a work around for this, but is isn't really the way I'd like to see the program run.

I am currently sending data via a serial port to an AVR microcontroller. I've tried searching the forums here first but haven't found any posts that specifically deal with what I'm trying to do. Here's some additional information that might help before proceeding:
Sendbox = textbox
ReceiveBox = listbox
ReceiveChk = checkbox
I currently have it setup so I enter hex data in Sendbox, click the button, it sends the data to the AVR micro via the serial port, which gets repeated back through the serial port and receives the hex data in the ReceiveBox. I want to be able to setup something similar so I am able to input data into a textbox as binary and have it sent to the AVR that way.
I realize it will send the same data whether I enter it in hex or binary form. I just want the option of being able to send it in either form.
Below is my code.
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles SendButton.Click
SerialPort1.Open()
[Code]....

I have a Form with a Textbox (Multilined) a Listbox and 2 buttons. You can insert things in the Textbox and press one of the buttons. That will add the lines of the Textbox to the Listbox.Then you click the last button and it will show you a msgbox for the number value of the Listbox1.Items.Count
Now what i want is that when you click the button it will show you an amount of msgboxes equal to the value of ListBox1.Items.Count.
Its a bit hard to explain but i hope you guys understand.

I am trying to import a text file into a data table using VB.NET. I need to loop thru each line of the text file and put certain elements of that line in a new row of the data table. The line may contain 50 elements, but I only need to get 15 of them. The very first line is a header row, which contains "File Name", "Object Name", "Object Weight", etc. The trick is the element locations move from file to file. For example, "File Name" element may be located at 0 in one file and then 15 in the next file. I need to find the exact location of my desired elements and save them to a variable. Then use that variable to locate the exact piece of data in the text file line to place in my new row.
The code below obviously doesn't work, but it kind of illustrates what I need to have done.
Try
With dt
.Columns.Add("fltObjectWeight", Type.GetType("System.Double"))
.Columns.Add("vchObjectName", Type.GetType("System.String"))
[Code].....

i know it could sound as a silly question but i was wondering if there's a way to get data from a survey on paper though: i mean, let's say i have a survey on paper with questions and some checkbox that the user will tick and i want to get its data scanning the document and save it as pdf, if it's possible, or jpg or doc, whatever. Then with PHP or whichever language you suggest, try to get the data in some way from the scanned document and put it to a DB.

Is there a way to print simple text in Courier New? No pictures, no fancy fonts, it's all the same size, and no margins, etc. Is there a VB.NET function for this?
