Jul 23, 2010I'm trying to set up an installer to register a web site. Currently, I've got it creating an Application Pool and Web Site under Windows Server 2003. Unfortunately, whenever I try to modify the ServerBindings property to set the IP Address, it throws an exception at me. I first tried this because the documentation here told me to [URL]. I'm currently using VB.NET, but C# answers are okay too as I need to switch it over to using C# anyway.

[Code] It did change the Application Setting connection string in the main form when combobox1 was changed. But the problem comes, when child form was called. On the child form there is DataGridView with Dataset using application connection string. Even the Backupserver was selected on the main form, child form dataset connection string doesn't change. I don't know how to pass the current connection string to child form dataset although it is set to use application setting.

Moreover, with every latest version of the applications, we upgrade these variables to retain user settings.Normally, this works fine, but recently one of my end user reported an error i.e.Configuration System failed to initialize". The error is related to user.config file. Therefore we requested the user to send us his file.After received the folder, we noticed that it contains 3 files (3begfjb.newcfg,3begfjb.tmp and user. config). 3begfjb.tmp is an empty file, while 3begfjb.newcfg and user.config are identical files. We tried to open these files but the data in user.config isn't proper xml rather its unreadable formatted file.Do any you guys had experienced this sort of issue or any ideas how and what may have created these files and corrupted user.config file.

So my problem is how to make this work to everyone? I don't want to have one public/friend var all time in the application with the credentials of the current user?

Feb 25, 2011I have a client/server application set up that the client sends a word file to the server and then the server converts that word file to a .TIF and sends the image back.The stuff I have now works.Say if I sent the size of the file and the actual file byte() to the server back to back, would the NetworkStream contain both back to back? This what I though would happen. So I implemented a kind of 'turn' based interaction during the duration of the conversion process.

The database should be exported to a *.sdf database. If no connection to the SQL server is produced, the software have to try to connect to the *.sdf database.I would like to achieve:
1. Export the data in the SQL Server 2008 R2 database to a local *.sdf file.

Sep 3, 2009An application loaded on a citrix server executes with no problem. When we try to run the same program files on a virtual server, we get silent errors and we do not even see the application window appear.
