Aug 13, 2009

i am using ASP.net & vb.net 2008 pro. i have developed a prog. for a govt. organisation wherein the date i am taking in a textbox is needed to b as a dd/MM/yyyy format now if the user types the date as 01/02/2009 i.e. 1st of Feb 2009 and the regional setting of the comp. is set to MM/dd/yyyy it is bound to take it as Jan/02/2009 what is the best way for the date method. the user can even have a dd/MM/yyyy format set as his regional setting i have no control over it.

Checking A Date Field - Existing Textbox That Is Automatically Filled With The Current Date?

Feb 21, 2011

I'm fairly new to ASP.NET & VB.I've been asked to take an existing textbox that is automatically filled with the current date and allow the user to either add a "+" or "-" and a number or a spcific number and convert that into a date.I underdstand the basic concept on how to do this, but I'm running into some problems using the proper commands in order for this to work.The Textbox is called txtDate.What I've tried to do is this:

If txtDate = '+' Or '-' Then
DateAdd("d", txtDate, today)
End If

Here is what the whole thing looks like:

Protected
Sub
DateEnter_Click(ByVal
sender As[code].....

Asp.net - Parse A Date From A Textbox And Store It In A Date Variable?

Jan 3, 2012

I am trying to parse a date from a textbox and store it in a date variable

Dim enddt_2 As Date = Date.ParseExact(txtenddt.Text, "dd/MM/yyyy", System.Globalization.DateTimeFormatInfo.InvariantInfo) 'txtenddt.Text
expenddt_1 = enddt_2.AddDays(-1)
enddt = enddt_2.ToString("dd/MM/yyyy")

enddt is a Date variable and when i convert enddt_2 to a string i get the error as

Conversion from string "17/01/2012" to type 'Date' is not valid.

Let me clarify, if a value in textbox is 17/01/2012 than after parsing the value is changed to 01/17/2012 (my systems Region and Language are dd/MM/yyyy) in enddt_2 and when i try to convert to dd/MM/yyyy format and store into a date variable i get the above error. This error comes only for the dates after 12. i.e a date variable accepts a date in MM/dd/yyyy format.The dates before 12 work fine, i.e for all dates from 1 to 12 there is no error.How can i make enddt store the date in dd/MM/yyyy format.

Get Short Date Format In Textbox?

Jan 9, 2010

I have a date field in my Access database that I want to display in a textbox with a colored back color. This is VB.NET 2008. A datetimepicker has a format property (short) but the datetimepicker does not allow the color I want. No problem, it's just for display so I'll use a textbox. But the textbox shows the date and time. How can I get rid of the time in the textbox and just have the date? The field in the Access table is Date/Time with a format of Short. I think Access always stores the time.

Put The Date Into A Textbox With The Format YYYY-MM-DD?

Apr 1, 2010

I have a calendar on a simple windows form and when I choose a date it will put the date into a textbox with the format YYYY-MM-DD.When I choose a date i look up in a MSAccess database if there is any appointments for the selected date. In the file (where the database query is in) calendar.xsd i can use the query below and all my appontments is listed in my datagrid.<CommandText>SELECT * FROM tbNotification</CommandText>

But If I want to use the selected date that I have in my textbox, i get an error saying that "There is some values or parameters missing" (a simple translation from Swedish, dont know the exact English translation). The Query I try to use is the one below:<CommandText>SELECT * FROM tbNotification WHERE ([Date] = '#'+txtSelDate+'#')</CommandText>

I have tried:
- ALOT of syntaxes in the query string for the ## around the date
- putting the date as String, as Date etc etc
- putting the date as a variable (selDate = txtSelDate.text)

I have now tried everything I can think of. Does anyone of you guys a solution for my problem?
