I am exporting the contents of one excel file data to the other excel file by using the range excel object in a windows application. while declaring the object, am getting the error like type excel object is not declared. [Code]
I am using Datagridview and ListView Controls in my windows desktop application using vb.net.I want to Import data directly to Excell sheet and CSV file directly from form.
I am converting several VBA projects to Windows form applications. The only problem I have is that some of the functionality of Excel is essential to the application, such as R1C1 formulas. I do not want to instantiate the Excel application or access saved worksheets. All of the data is retrieved by querying Oracle databases. 2-Dimensional arrays are not an option because the columns contain differing datatypes, and DataGridViews are too slow to work with.
I thought simply dimming a Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.Worksheet object would be enough, but the program kept failing and upon inspecting the object's elements in debug mode, I found that every value says this:
{"Unable to cast COM object of type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel.WorksheetClass' to interface type 'Microsoft.Office.Interop.Excel._Worksheet'. This operation failed because the QueryInterface call on the COM component for the interface with IID '{000208D8-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}' failed due to the following error: No such interface supported (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80004002 (E_NOINTERFACE))."}
I have to write an application in Visual Basic.Net that will open an excel file, run through the contents an export a test file for processing.
The application works great for me (Windows 7) but when transferred to a WinXP PC gives the following error: HResult 0X800A03EC
I can replicate this error by making the Excel Application visible so it seems like it is an issue where it can't access the file because it is open. Error occurrs when trying open the workbook.
Original Code Dim excel As Excel.Application Dim wb As Excel.Workbook
I've been working of a Visual Basic Windows Form in Visual Studio 2010 as my first little VB project. It's a form which runs a stored procedure on SQL. I have this all working, however, the stored procedure has a PRINT statement execute if a duplicate is found and stops. What I'd like to do is have this PRINT statement display on the Windows form MessageLabel (label) or have a "successful" message displayed if there is no SQL print statement.
I can launch Excel with the document I want using VB.Net 2010:
Dim p As New System.Diagnostics.Process p.StartInfo.FileName = "c: empmyfile.xlsx" p.Start()
Excel starts OK with the file opened. I edit the file, but when I close it down, Excel doesn't ask if I want to save changes. So it closes and loses my edits.
If I do the same with a text file:
Dim p As New System.Diagnostics.Process p.StartInfo.FileName = "c: empmyfile.txt" p.Start()
It opens (in Notepad++), I edit it and close it, and Notepad++ asks if I want to save changes.
I've now tried similar code with a Word document - and that's OK. Also with an OpenOffice Sheet document and that works as well.
This behaviour is happening in Windows 7 with Excel 2010. It works as expected in Windows XP with Excel 2007.
I need open excel sheets in an application write in VS2008 (VB.NET) and Windows 7 as OS. All seem work fine, but I don't see excel worksheet. I see Excel32 opened as process, but no window on my screen. The code I used id this:
Can I Post a Windows Application that uses Excel for live data calculations? Basically from the Windows app, a user makes a menu selection and which in turn opens an excel file in memory using it for calculations. These files are put together by different groups and formatted for the Windows app to build interfaces based on each file.I also accompany an .mdf file as well. Is all this possible for customers to access and run this with Windows Azure.
I am trying to import an excel sheet to a sql database. I was able to get it to work using sqlbulkcopy. I am now trying to do it line by line. The code works fine except that only the first row is added to the database. I used a msgbox to ensure that I am iterating through all of the excel values. So I am not sure what is wrong.
How does one import files into an Excel Project (v12) using VB.NET?Now in detail:Four (4) files have been exported (see below) from a workbook/project that I want to import into another workbook/project.The four (4) files to be imported:

I tried searching for someone that has done this, but turned up nothing. I can import an excel sheet to a DGV just fine, but want I want to do is import it row by row so that I can do validation on each field and then if it is ok, put it in the DGV.if I could do it row by row, validate, then add it to a datatable/dataset, then bind that to a DGV.I can't find any example code of someone doing it row by row, only SELECT * which grabs everything and puts it in a dataset.
Private Sub excel_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim conn As String = "Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;" & "Data Source= C:123.xls ;" & "Extended Properties=Excel 8.0;" Dim sel As String = "SELECT * FROM [Sheet1$]"[code].....

I have created an application that can store employees details, that part is not a problem and frankly is sorted, I have used a sql database to save my data, all information is displayed in TextBox controls on my main form.
The part I am struggling with is creating 2 buttons.
The first button I want to be able to import data from an excel file into my data set
The second button I want to create is a back-up button, which exports all the data from my dataset into an excel file
Do you know how can i import a sheet from Excel to Visual Basic 2008, and then save the informations in Access? I know how to save the informations in Access, but i don't know how to import from Excel.
Everything seems to imports ok until i look at the data in more detail, this is when I notice its imported the data but in the wrong order.
for some reason when I look at the db table all records are in the wrong order, and strangely enough it seems to be a different order every time I import things.
Is there a way to force the routine to import the data in the same order as the it is in the excel file?, because at the minute it seems to have a mind of its own[code]...
