Asp.net - How To Initialize A Combobox In InitNewRow

Jun 29, 2011

I'm Trying to populate an ASPXComboBox using the InitNewRow event for inserting a new row, but I'm having problems binding the data to the ASPXComboBox.

I have used the CellEditorInitialize event for editing the row and it works fine, but the same principal on the InitNewRow event comes up with an 'object not set to an instance of an object' exception. However, the business logic function which is called returns a fully populated DataTable.

CustomerID, Surname, Firstname

My current code is:

con = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0;Data Source=D:My DropboxDocumentsTaxi Service ProjectDatabaseTaxiProjectDatabase.accdb;")

Auto-complete Combobox From Multiple Lists

May 19, 2009

I have a small HR app.First step for user is to select the employee.I wanted a single combobox (autocomplete , drop-down), where the user can start typing either firstname lastname or nickname (these are 3 different fields in an SQL DB).At first, I would have the user check a checkbox near the combobox to select what they would be searching by (first, last, nick name), but then I thought - someone could probably help me with an example of not having to select which name type they are searching for, but just start typing and the combobox would autocomplete based on whichever name ?

ComboBox Populated And Displayed With Multiple Columns

Nov 8, 2010

I have seen something like the following in many software. Combo box populated and displayed with multiple columns (for example stock code, stock description). But now I am only able to populate with stock code. May I know how to achieve this? I know it can be done by calling a form (And I can do whatever coding in this form) out when clicking on the combo box. But I am looking for better solution, or is it possible to populate the whole datagrid into the combo box as source instead of only the data.

Using vb.net (vs2005), how do I populate a combo box with multiple property values from an object? Right now I'm iterating a collection of objects and adding the name property of each object to the combo box. I'd like to add multiple properties from the object to the list. The positions match up, i.e if there is a match for the co-ordinator ID in the list box at position 3, I want to extract the subject list box at position 3 also. The problem is 1 coordinator can teach more than 1 subject. Basically I want to show the subjects taught by the Coordinator the user selects in the combo box. How To Prevent .net Combobox From Displaying Multiple Results From A Single Data

Dec 9, 2010

I am currently having a headache on how to solve this problem that i am facing.here is the situation:I have a combobox and a list box on the main form. The combobox will get the data from the ms access database. In the database, i have the details of a person's IC, Name and DOB say for eg on one entry I have D215311523C,SHAWN,13/04/1987

So now, my combobox on form load will show the list of dates in the database to allow the user to search base on the date itself by clicking on the selected date. So when the user clicks on the particular date say 13/04/1987, people in the database whose birthday is 13/04/1987 will be shown on the listbox.Meaning to say if i have 3 entries whose dates are the same 13/04/1987, 3 entries will appear. If there is only two entry, then two results will be shown.

.net - How To Initialize A Singleton

Nov 6, 2009

Sometimes there is a need to initialize the singleton class with some helper values. But we can't "publish" a constructor for it. What is the workaround for this?overloading the GetInstance or setting a color is not my idea. The color should be set only once. I would like to be sure that MyPainter paints ONLY with the initialized color. Any default color should ever be used.

For more clarity I provide a sample:

''' <summary>
''' Singleton class MyPainter
''' </summary>
Public Class MyPainter
