I have this excerpt from my code giving me trouble, it keeps telling me that StandardIn was not redirected. maybe im missing something but its getting late and its harder to tell. (Visual Studio 11)
I wrote a simple console program (simplecopy) that copies its input to output:

The output is the content of testdata.txt, but with three extra characters (hex b4 2b 2b) inserted at the beginning of the output. Those three bytes are not there when I run simplecopy without input redirection.
I don't know VB very well, but I need to create a wrapper program for any executable that logs the arguments, all input, output and err information:
My wrapper is called: e.g. someApp.exe arg1 arg2
Logs to someApp.log: arg1 arg2
Calls original executable: _someApp.exe arg1 arg2
Must log and forward any console input to _someApp process inputstream
Must log any output and error stream from _someApp process
I'm stuck at point 4 now:

After _someApp ends I am able to read out and err stream to log it, but I still need to provide my own wrappers input to the process and I want to read out and err stream as it happens.
Every time I try and redirect input and output of command prompt I have a problem. The debugger itself crashes! Something must really be wrong. What is a good way to launch CMD and send commands to it, receive output.

I am using visual basic 2005. I found on the web the following function that extracts HTML from webpages. It is very useful but unfortunately it does not work with redirected pages. That is, when I put in it a URL of a redirect page it gives me nothing or error. I added to it ".AllowAutoRedirect = True" but still it did not work. I wonder how to make it work for redirected pages.

I don't really know why it keep displaying the messagebox that says it failed when I have input the valid strings in the first place.
I am writing a calculator app in VB Express 2008. I'm trying to get the app to accept numeric and operator input while ignoring all the alpha input. In other words taking input from the numeric keypad and the top of the keyboard and ignoring all the letters.

The Response.Redirect is all the way at the bottom of the page after 3 other inserts into 3 different tables. The only thing I can think of to make this work is to put the redirect into that using, but I can't because I need the other tables to get inserted into and it wouldn't make sense to redirect before the rest of the inserts.

View 1 RepliesI have a GUI that contains several components (combo boxes, textboxes, etc) with their associated labels. When a button is pressed, the selection in each input component is validated, and if found to contain an invalid value, the label color changes to red and an error message appears. This works fine on its own.The problem arises when invalid values are provided and then later fixed. When the user presses the button and the inputs are valid, I redirect the response to an asp using Response.Redirect, which then runs and opens a PDF report. When this happens, none of the code to change the labels back to their original color or to remove the error message runs. If I change Response.Redirect() to Server.Transfer() and the user goes back, it returns the page to its original state (removing the error messages), but I want to keep the valid data in each component.
What can I do to either remove the error messages when the user goes back or to retain the valid input from the user?Most of the controls are non-standard .NET controls and I'm working with VB.NET 2003.

I cannot figure out how to incorporate the number of days into the input box then get it to loop and count the number of times the User inputs in the number of days. Then I have to incorporate it into the equation to get the total distance D = MPH * Hours. What I have right now wil not count up the number of days and locks up after I input one number and will not add anything to the listbox. Because I also have to make sure that they cant add nonnumaric values and the number of hours per day cannot exceed 20. I have put things in and taken them out but it has been 2 days and I am lost now
