Okay so i want to build an application that "wraps" another, the app that i want it to read console reports stuff like
[WAIT] Preparing world... 10%
and stuff, and it can take commands like

So basically i want to know if i can read the console output in realtime and input to it as well.

send the text from a certain line in the hidden console window to a textbox in the form, but I need this output while the console application is still running in a hidden window. Since I am going to have multiple instances of this console application running, I have assigned their processes to an array and each have a separate "hidden" console window. After I launch these applications (with different arguments assign to them), they require no input and will run until I ".kill them" using the GUI.The console application was written in the old C and it's source code scares me.
I am creating this GUI "bolt on" application for it in VB.NET 2005 to clean up desktop space (save me from 30 console windows) and to be able to start, stop, and monitor them from a single clean GUI.Attempted solutions:I have reviewed the information [URL]But again, that just tells me how to capture the output of it after the console application has exited, which I already know how to do and I do not wish to kill the application just to see a certain line of it's output as it would obviously interrupt what it is doing.

I am running a command on all computers from a list. I am trying to get back a text file that says PASS or FAIL for each computer. I am using the below StreamWriter and function process. The process runs correctly and it rights to both a data file and an error log. The error log however always says PASS for everything. do I know what to set the if consoleOutput = "????" to?
Using swrr As New StreamWriter(ErrorLog, True)
For Each strUserName As String In strLines
Dim ConsoleOutput As String = GetCMDOutput(strUserName, saveFileDialog3.FileName & ".txt",

how to redirect outputs from console to a window form text box,but the console application I'm using is always running real time, thus my .net application hangs until I close the program that is read real time.The code displays the application to a 2nd form with a textbox multi line. Until I close that my entire program hangs and the console application monitored runs.
How do I code it to:
1. Run real time without hanging the entire program.
2. the console app must run at all times. (figured how to hide/ and no window created for it)
Sub Console()
Form2.Show()
Dim myCon As New Process
myCon.StartInfo.UseShellExecute = False

I don't know VB very well, but I need to create a wrapper program for any executable that logs the arguments, all input, output and err information:
My wrapper is called: e.g. someApp.exe arg1 arg2
Logs to someApp.log: arg1 arg2
Calls original executable: _someApp.exe arg1 arg2
Must log and forward any console input to _someApp process inputstream
Must log any output and error stream from _someApp process
I'm stuck at point 4 now:
Dim p As New ProcessStartInfo
p.FileName = execute
p.Arguments = Command()
p.UseShellExecute = False
p.CreateNoWindow =
[Code] .....
After _someApp ends I am able to read out and err stream to log it, but I still need to provide my own wrappers input to the process and I want to read out and err stream as it happens.

I am trying to send/print/write all possible ASCII codes (0-255) to another console-window application. From my application I would enter the name of the "receiving" application and the comma seperated hex values that should be sent/print/written to it. I have used AppActivate to select the "receiving" application and then have used sendInput and send.sendkeys to attempt to send the desired ASCII value. However, these appear to have limitations on values greater than 127. I need to be able to send all 255 values.

How to accept input into a vb.net console application? How Do I allow people to type into a vb.net console application, and then press enter, and then the console application writes that and uses the console.writeline function to write what the person typed in into the network stream(or whatever its called).

I created a Console Application, with a Sub Main(Byval str As String), and when I run the debugger I get the following error:Error1No accessible 'Main' method with an appropriate signature was found in ...
Also I'd like the solution to my problem to apply not only to the debugger, but also to the .exe file that will eventually be created.Also, I found the following code on the internet, but I don't understand how to send the parameter in still.
Public Sub Main()
MsgBox Command$,vbOk, "Command Line params"
End Sub
Do I have to open cmd.exe, type: programname.exe -parameter 'Or something of that sort?

I wrote a simple console program (simplecopy) that copies its input to output:
Module
Module1
Sub Main()
[Code]....
The output is the content of testdata.txt, but with three extra characters (hex b4 2b 2b) inserted at the beginning of the output. Those three bytes are not there when I run simplecopy without input redirection.

I have written little console application that sends emails. It behaves in the following manner:when I run this application in debug mode and go through code step by step it sends emails;when I run this application in debug mode and do not go through code step by step, last email does not get sent;when I build and move application to server and create a task for it, last email does not get sent;when I execute application from Windows explorer (double click on .exe file), last email does not get sent;when I execute application from command prompt it sends all emails;What is interesting is that when I putthread.sleep(200) all emails are sent! Note that I am using this code in my ASP applications and all mails are sent always. If mail has attachment, it is always sent, even if it is last in queue (but this is another application that works correctly).
Code that I use (class for mailing):
Public Class Mailer

I'm making program that will copy one file and over-write another to purge data.I have a windows form interface where the files can be selected and want a console application to run this process so it can be put into the PC's startup folder to run on each startup.
The problem is I need to send the file location data to the console app when I choose a save button on the form. Both are part of the same project and referenced but I can't seem to reference any variable from the win form to console app.Also will I see the Console app as a seperate icon in the program files so I can put it on the PC startup?

It sounds confusing but it's not really. What I need is basically a way to emulate the console style text, without using a console. What I'm really doing is trying to do a matrix effect on my form background, by drawing symbols and moving them, alternating their colors (see this video for what I mean).
Is there a way to do this effectively with a timer and a draw event, with the timer calling the draw event and changing the intervals?

Vb is not my language of choice , but I have to do this for school and I'm not having a very easy time with VB's documentation.I'm just creating a very simple console application that accepts user input: degrees in Celsius, and converts it into Fahrenheit. I want to make sure that if the user just hits enter without entering the degrees in Celsius, then an if else statement will catch and write to enter Celsius again.Here's what I've tried:

I'm trying to integrate a feature into my application that emulates a cell phone. This means that when the "mobile browser" is used, the browser automatically redirects to the mobile version of the site (if there is one). How would I do this? Is there a way to make the site think my browser is from a mobile phone? How do I detect if there is a mobile version of the site?

Public Class Form1
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
[Code]....
I checked online and still haven't found a concrete answer on this. Also, I would like to start it on a timer and when the application finishes with the command, close it.

Is a way of creating a program (either in C(+,++,#) or VB.net) that would be able to send a beep sound through the same line-in that is being used for audacity (not stereo mix)?
I am trying to make a way of syncing up audio and video from 2 different programs, in a similar way that a clapper bored works in the movies.
Would there be a way of using a sort of microphone enhancement that could be created because they affect the microphone input?

I have a procedure at the end of my console application that ask the user to either hit enter to end the program, or type s to perform another search. The issue I'm having is no matter what the user types in the program end. What I would like to happen is if the user types s, then the program starts over and lets the user perform another search. The program is procedural and I need to find a way to start back off at the top of the program which ask the user to type a name to search.
