I have a table in my MySQL database and it contains these items:
User_ID(Primary key, auto-increment)
Username
AvatarPicLink
Location
How can I insert everything into a Datarepeater? Username would be in a Label as would Location, and AvatarPicLink would be in a Picturebox.
I have a problem inserting data into a table on a MySQL database using a VB.NET application. I have a simple form where when I set some data to the textboxes and I press a GO button, the code should execute a function called InsertCar() that takes all these values and insert them into the database and then return true if the transaction is done successfully or false otherwise. My problem is that nothing is being inserted into the table.

I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to vb.net and databases and I have a small favor to ask anyone I am looking for a very basic example on how to connect, read, update and insert data into remote mysql database. I have successfully connected to my database with the code below,, and for the moment I am just trying to LIST data from it in a listview control,, and then would like to find a way to insert data into it and update data.
Al examples I find on the net are too long and usually have too many unnecessary data around the code I need so I get a bit lost in it.Can anyone point me in the direction of SIMPLE examples that are easy to follow or provide a bit of useful code I could learn form.

i have a problem in inserting the listbox value into mysql database in vb 2008 i.e

insert a datatable into a mysql database? The way I'm doing it now is that I'm doing a for each-loop and inserting one and one row. Is there a better way to do this? I have like 500+ rows, so it takes a while to execute the loop.

I am using the Datarepeater control to make a report. I am including the a couple of bound labels and a checkbox in the Datarepeater item template. When I run the report and multiple items come up, I'd like to use the checkbox and clear the items by resetting there values to NOTHING. When I check the checkbox for the item, how do I code it so row.text=nothing only applies to the row that the checkbox is on?

I have used DataRepeater in VirtualMode, do I have to supply my own code that will "actually" make corresponding changes to the actual tables, or is there a way of "configuring" or "binding" the controls on the DataRepeater to the "dataSet" so that the changes made by the user are reflected automatically in the underlying table? Whatever I have tried so far has yielded no results; whenever i edit the data on the control, the actual data is not updated. The code i am using is able to do all these. The only problem i encountered is at the Interface side. When i am looping the data-repeater. The selection 'frame' (refer to the picture point as 'A') is moving from record to the next record and scrollbar is auto moving as well to scroll to further down until the last row where looping finish.Is there anything can be done to remove the selection 'frame' and stop datarepeater from scrolling while looping the datarepeater.

I am INSERTING into 2 different tables with 2 different buttons (One after the other by clicking each button). I have a form with 1 button directly on it to INSERT into tblCustomers from a field that is directly on the form as well. I then have a TabControl with another button with other fields (5 to be exact).
After I add data to the data base by filling out the field on the form and then by first clicking the add button located directly on the form and then add data to the fields directly on the TabControl the data will not INSERT itself into the tables in the data base for the 2nd table. Only the first table get data in it and not the one related to the TabControl.
BUT if i add data in the TabControl and then click the button on the TabControl it adds data into to the 2nd table. Is there a way to refresh my program so that it will accept both the "forms data" and the "TabControl data"?
I have problem when i inserted data. the error show String or binary data would be truncated. What is meaning of that??

I am pulling data from one SQL Server database, formating the data and then inserting it into another SQL Server Database. I am looking for a faster way to do this than the one I am currently using. The data pull is about 37,000 rows, so formating it and inserting it one row at a time is very time consuming. I was hoping I could format it into a datatable and insert the datatable into second database essentially inserting all rows at the same time as if they wre within the same databse, but I have not found a way to do this.
