insert a datatable into a mysql database? The way I'm doing it now is that I'm doing a for each-loop and inserting one and one row. Is there a better way to do this? I have like 500+ rows, so it takes a while to execute the loop.

I'm populating a DataTable from a MySQL-server. One of the columns contains norwegian characters (�, �, �), but they don't display correct in my datatable. I've been searching google for some answer, but I haven't found any. I've never had this problem before. Actually I'm not quite sure exactly where the problem is. It's either in the datatable or in the MySQL .NET-connector as far as I can tell. If I do the same query in the MySQL Query Browser, the characters are shown correctly, so it can't be the server.

I have a simple form where when I set some data to the textboxes and I press a GO button, the code should execute a function called InsertCar() that takes all these values and insert them into the database and then return true if the transaction is done successfully or false otherwise. How can I insert everything into a Datarepeater? Username would be in a Label as would Location, and AvatarPicLink would be in a Picturebox.

For some reason my code is executing the INSERT query twice and putting duplicate records in my table. If I put a primary key on one of the fields I get a runtime error and it complains about the fact it can't add the record twice.
The part of the code that INSERTs is near the bottom, bolded and italicized. I put the entire IF statement of code incase my logic is wrong.

I am a bit of a newbie when it comes to vb.net and databases and I have a small favor to ask anyone I am looking for a very basic example on how to connect, read, update and insert data into remote mysql database. I have successfully connected to my database with the code below,, and for the moment I am just trying to LIST data from it in a listview control,, and then would like to find a way to insert data into it and update data.

I am a veteran programmer . However , I am new to visual basic 2010 . I am trying to create a database that ould store data within an access file *.mdb .I have created the database which includes multiple tables . moreover i have created app.config file using wizard and my database along with dataset appear in the visual basic 2010 project . moreover when i test the function insert in the dataset the function performs well and the output is correct and i can see the new row added in my access database . however when i try to use the ATLtableadapter.insertquery (ATL is a datatable in my database) function in my form (in view code) the row doesn't get added.
When i first used this function an exception occured was something like first system class exception data.dll something along that lines. . however , when i created a new oledb.oledbconnection and put its connection string as the one in windowsapplication1.my.settings.marketconnectionstring. and used the open comand to open a connection . the message stoppped appearing . however , the insertquery is not adding the row in my database still when i use it in the form.
