View 1 RepliesI am needing to get the browser height and width of the browser window with vb. I can get these values by setting an ASP.Net hidden input control using javascript, after the page has loaded and a post back is done. I need to be able to get these values when the page initially loads so I can create an image based on those values.

When I set the opacity of a form to 50%, the opacity of a label on that form is also set to 50%, but I do not want so, is there anyway to make a 100%-opacity-label with 50%-opacity-LabelBackground on a 50%-opacity-form?
View 6 RepliesOkay sorry to post another simple question but I was browsing through the web trying to learn how to stop a javascript error dialog from appearing on my program and I came across this code on the MSDN website. Me being the idiot, posted the code straight into my code which did not work.

I have a form with a PNG image as its background image. How can I make the form's opacity match the opacity at different parts of the image? (for example, I have a drop shadow that fades from black to transparent. How do I acheive this effect on a form?)

View 9 RepliesI am creating a webbrowser with Visual Basic, and I have finished everything but this: When I click on an external link, (I.E. On a photo, or on youtube) it opens up in a new IE window. I want it to open in my browser, not Internet Explorer.I have read everything I have found on this subject, but it is all for normal web browsers. I want to do this for a tabbed web browser, not one without tabs. Basicly, I want to use this code with my tabbed web browser that uses tab control.
Private Sub WebBrowser1_NewWindow(ByVal sender
As Object,
ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.CancelEventArgs)
Handles WebBrowser1.NewWindow

convert the code to be used in a browser with tabcontrol? I tried, and it works with one that DOESN'T use it, but I want to use it with my browser with tabcontrol. And, I have read ALL of the ones previously given to other people.
From the visual code requests as you can guess i think a good GUI is very important in an App. What i want is to lower the opacity of my textbox so u can see the SWF in the background, is this possible?

when i go to the address ex http:address with a web browser (e.x. firefox), immediately a popup window appears asking for user name and password. I know both so i enter them.Then firefox allows me to see the web page.Now, in this page there is a javascript button called "Open", (and as i can see from the source code of the page, the button is calling a function called "open()") .
I need to make a web browser that can do all the above automatically and then it "presses" the button "open".
I can make a web browser and then add a button that 1)connects to the adress but how to 2)send the user name and password info and then 3) execute javascript to "press" the "open" button?

I'm having some issues finding examples of how to use the Awesomium web browser control in vb.net with objectforscripting. I know that objectforscripting isn't the same for the webcontrol used with awesomium since its HTML5 and not the traditional IE control that comes with vs 2010. The issue I'm having is finding any info/examples on how to communicate with the awesomium web browser control with my javascript. It's quite easy with the IE built in control with objectforscripting. I've found samples of how to do it in C# but I don't see any info of how I could do it just in VB. I've searched several things in google and I just can't seem to find anything on how to do it.So for example, I would have a button in a php page that the webcontrol browsers to and if I click the button it closes the application down. So I need to communicate using window.external with the webcontrol in VB.
View 1 RepliesOk I have a code which will detect whether a browser is running.(Here iexplorer, chrome and firefox)

I am creating a web browser and every time i visit a certain site (yahoo), i get an error saying that javascript needs to be enabled.

How to increase a forms opacity without increasing the opacity of the controls in the form?
View 1 RepliesWe have a web app in a web browser running on an intranet so security is less of an issue. We have a separate win form app. Is there any way the Win Form app could call javascript in the web browser. The browser can't be embedded in the WinForm.
View 12 RepliesI have an aspx page with a button. When the user clicks that button, the following javascript opens a new browser window (in this case, 'Reasons.aspx'). Works great. Here's the function for that part:
function ShowPanel(url) {
var width = 750;
var height = 600;
var left = (screen.width - width) / 2;
var top = (screen.height - height) / 2;
[Code] .....
When this window pops up, there are some controls. One of which is a button, which triggers almost identical code to popup a third window (in this case, ReasonCodes.aspx). Only it won't work. Here's the code for that:
function fGetReasons(url) {
var width = 750;
var height = 600;
var left = (screen.width - width) / 2;
var top = (screen.height - height) / 2;
[Code] ....
I've set breakpoints on the javascript. It does execute. Here's what's weird -- The above javascript executes, only I don't get a new window with ReasonCodes.aspx. However, I set a breakpoint in the page_load of ReasonCodes.aspx and all of it executes. So the javascript executes, the code-behind page_load of the third page executes, but I don't get a third page. Instead, the second window (Reasons.aspx) refreshes. It's like my third window is somehow 'hidden'.
I want to calling a javascript function from a asp.net modal window using vb. The javascript function is to close the same modal window. The function I want call is: function CloseModalWindow(winName)
I tried Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript
but that does not work. How can I do that from vb.net code behind?
I have 2 radiobuttons as shown below:
<asp:RadioButton runat="server" GroupName="ebrochType" Text="Select Type 1" TextAlign="Right" ID="rbtSelect1" OnCheckedChanged="sel1" AutoPostBack="true" />
<asp:RadioButton runat="server" GroupName="ebrochType" Text="Select Type 2" TextAlign="Right" ID="rbtSelect2" OnCheckedChanged="sel2" AutoPostBack="true" />
When one of these is selected, I need to open a page in a new window with no menubar etc...
Is this possible in the code behind?
I tried this but it did not work (it just refreshed the page/updatepanel):
Sub sel1(sender As Object, e As EventArgs)
Page.ClientScript.RegisterStartupScript(Me.GetType(), "select1", "window.open('http://www.google.co.uk','','')", True)

So the code below is called when a user selects Save on an ExtJS popup modal window. This window ONLY contains a combobox. Now, sometimes when a user saves this, and then re-opens it later on, the combobox will appear BEHIND the window all grayed out, unable to get to. Other times, it will be fine and work, and no difference in events happening either time, just complete utter inconsistency.

In my code behind, I need to open a little window that displays another aspx page. I have found many ways to do this in JavaScript, but haven't been able to find a way to do it using VB.Net. Looks like you can call window.open() in JavaScript. Is there a VB.Net version of this call, or is this something that has to be done client side?
View 2 RepliesI have a question regarding a javascript command. View 2 RepliesI was offered this interesting scenario by a visitor of my site and have been trying a few approaches, but not seeming to get it quite right. I have a Form with a WebBrowser control (or an AxWebBrowser if that works too) and on the page loaded in the browser, is a link that uses javascript to open a new popup window.This popup window I am unable to take "ownership" of and it launches in a new instance of the user's default browser (IE for this scenario). I need to then interact with that javascript popup window which now is not part of my application. If I needed to set a value of an input box on that form, how would I accomplish that if I can't "interact" with the form?
