Load Parts Of A Created .xml File Into A RichTextBox?
Nov 18, 2010
I have been investigating xml and find it quite fascinating. Not sure it is worth the effort as far as the sppeed of loading scriptures into a richtextbox.Scenario: User double-clicks in TreeViewLibrary and opens the nodes. He double-clicks on Genesis Chapter 1. Genesis Chapter 1 Verse 1 loads into the RichTextBox.[code]
I have some text displayed in a richtextbox from an xml. This is how is shows upHaste <i>(As soon as it comes under your control.)</i>At the beginning of the end step<i>The storms of the wastelands form quickly and hit hard. Few have anything to do with rain.</i>
# TAG NAME = is saved to a file using the code below but when I load that same file back into a RichTextbox Control using additional code below, I get inconsistent results as I try to parse the text. Has anyone else had this problem?'Save the contents of the RichTextBox into the file.richTextBox.SaveFile(saveFile1.FileName, RichTextBoxStreamType.RichText);'Retrieve contents of File into RichTextBox control Dim logData As String logData = System.IO.File.ReadAllText(path + "\" + filenname);
it seems so simple but i cannot find the answer. I have a menu strip item (open...). and I have a RichTextBox1. I need to open *.txt and have it displayed in RichTextBox1. Currently I have no code behind 'open...'

I want to close the form when user click any where on his/her screen. But if user want to copy some text from meanings from will not close i added more then one dynamically created richtextboxes in a tab control to show number of meanings. My code is working great accept one thing when user scroll the richtextboxes form will close itself. It seems scrollbars are not the part of richtextbox.
Dim s As Boolean = True Private Sub Timer1_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer1.Tick If MouseButtons.ToString = "Left" Or MouseButtons.ToString = "Right" Then If s = True Then If InStr(LCase(Me.ActiveControl.ToString), LCase("Label")) Then Me.Close() [Code] .....
friend of mine has no HTML knowledge so I'm attempting to write a program that replaces certain parts of a html file to suit his needs.I've edited the HTML file and marked certain parts with "tags" like this:
#IMAGEURL1# I have a textbox where he can copy + paste an image URL and hopefully the #IMAGEURL1# is replaced with the contents of the textbox.
So can someone please enlighten me to-as how to open a HTML file (there's no textbox to display the contents just yet, I'll add one if needed), find the specified text and then replace it with whats in a textbox.
How to divide a wav file into two parts. I don't very know how to implement this functionality. If possibly, can you give me detailed code snippet or other some useful link.
The code below is a very simplified version of what I'm trying to write in VB2010.BuildPictureBoxes() builds a column of 40 PictureBoxes at the left of Form1,while LoadPictureBoxes() fills the boxes with a set of green bars.if there are no other controls on Form1, the code does what I expect (builds and fills boxes). On the other hand, if I add, say, a TextBox at design time, then it throws an exception:[code]I understand what the exception means, but not the reason for it. Apparently, the way that I've set up the For loop in LoadPictures doesn't differentiate between a TextBox and a PictureBox. I don't understand why, nor do I understand how to code the loop.I've searched forums and tried any number of ways to write the loop, but nothing that I've tried is free of errors. Clearly, I'm overlooking something simple. I'm not asking for code, because I don't learn anything that way. [code]
How can i encrypt or decrypt only a part of a file? I try, and i keep getting an error message that says that the stream might be corrupt. By the way, it is ok to convert the text to a byte array using the system.text.encoding.ascii.getbytes() right? The reason i want to encrypt/compress only a part of a file is because i don't want to encrypt or compress the file header. That way the program can gather info about whether the file is compressed or encrypted.
I want select portions of the file and then display them on my site,I thought maybe a combination of objReader and a do loop of some description with a delimiter in the text file to indicated when the program should start or stop reading the file.
I have some trouble with loading a richtextbox from a memorystream.I have some data in a database table stored as a byte array, I convert it to a string and load it into a memorystream and then I want to load that memory stream in the richtextbox. The application breaks on
Dim tr As New TextRange(rtbTemplate.Document.ContentStart, rtbTemplate.Document.ContentEnd) though.
Is it possible to split a file into like 10 parts, and using multithreading copy it faster and then put it all back together? Will the speed increase or will it stay the same?
I have a bunch of text boxes that get created on form load depending on a value in a combo box. The text boxes get named in the fasion txtBx1, txtBx2, ect. Then I want to assign values to those text boxes with a button click. However when I try to write the txtBx1.text = "Blah" code under button click, I get 'txtBx1' is not declared. [code]...
I have in my form 2 RichTextBox , one Listbox , one OpenFileDialog and one Button . In those 2 RichTextBox I would like to load two (*.RTF) FILES .
Application Steps :
1- When I click the button , an OpenFileDialog open .
2- I choose those two files (*.RTF) and when I press the OK in OpenFileDialog, the path of those two files are written in the ListBox as Items.
3- After getting the path of those two files , I would like to load them into those two richtextboxs .
The problem is that I don't want to specify the richtextboxs names in order to load the files . What am I saying ? I.E : I don't want to use that code : "RichTextBox1.Loadfile(Listbox1.items.item)" When I debug my application : everything goes well , only when the listbox items are loaded in the richtextboxs control I get only one file loaded on those two richtextboxs. Right Now I have written these codes :
Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button2.Click OpenFileDialog1.Filter = "RTF Files (*.rtf) |*.rtf"
I am not a total newbie to Visual Basic. However, the last time I used it was back in the days of DOS and Windows 3.11. Now I am using VS10 on a Windows Vista machine and it so different, I feel like a total newbie.
I am working on a project that I wish to load RTF files into a RichTextBox and an accompanying image into a PictureBox at runtime. I want this to happen when the user clicks a Menu Choice.[code]....
Using VS2008 as frontend and MS SOL Server2008 as backend... a database is created in MS SQL Server2008(SQLEXPRESS). Now the problem is i am not being able to to load the database created in MS SQL Server2008(SQLEXPRESS) onto VS.Net 2008...
I have a Comma Separated value file in .txt format... simply put, its a bunch of data delimited by commas and text qualifier is separated with ""For example:
"So and so","1234","Blah Blah", "Foo","Bar","","","","" "foofoo","barbar","etc.."
Where ever there is a carriage return it signifies a new row and every comma separates a new column from another.My next step is to go into VB.net and create an array using these values and having the commas serve as the delimeter and somehow making the array into a table where the text files' format matches the array After that array has been created, I need to select only certain parts of that array and store the value into a variable for later use.... how to make the array and selecting the certain info out of it..
I'm going through All-In-One Code Framework Coding Standards document and one of the recommendations is to add a file header comment at the start of every human-created code file. This is the first time I've seen such a recommendation and to me it's just an unnecessary and ugly clutter but I'm wondering if someone could explain why M$ recommends this?
I'm currently developing an editor for an AFL management sim.I want to be able to load three or four multidimensional arrays to the program, then save them to the same file. I tried the tutorial on here but got completely muddled up. Why can't it be easy like in VB6 When it was like 10 lines of code tops!
I have an editor created invb.net that creates html files. And when i click the button run , the Internet Explorer opens my file that is inside the Richtextbox.
i am creating a console app that will delete pictures from a directory every 30 minutes. Problem is that its being populated by files every minute or so. So if i go and delete files in that directory then it may cause an error trying to delete a file thats being created just then or opened.
I currently have this code to copy the files to another directory and then delete them from the source directory.Dim f() As String = Directory.GetFiles(sourceDir)
I am trying to add text to an already created file on vb.net. When I run the program there are no errors and it writes everything to my liking, but currently when it goes to save, it makes me create an entirely new text file with any name I choose to give it. What I need to do is for it to automatically get added onto the end of an already created text file without deleting any other part of the file, which we will call "data.txt." Here is the code I already have
Imports System.IO Public Class Frmadd Const FILE_NAME As String = "data.txt"
