when using a loop for a datagridview i have something like the norm.
do until datagridview1(0,i).value = ""
stuff here

the issue is if a value might never be "" and datagridview1 isn't always the same size ill get an error because it will index past the number of rows there are
so how can i tell it to loop until it gets to the end of that column or row ect.
The following code is used to populate DGV

I'm essentially try ing to loop through every row in a datagridview, and trying to remove the entire row, if a certain cell's value matches another value. Please find the code below. This is working, however is skipping every other result, meaning half of the rows that should be removed are remaining in the datagridview. Could someone please advise as to what I'm doing wrong?

I have datagridview1 which contains data and what I want to do is get the data from first selected row then carry out MyRoutine and then do the same for the next selected row until their is no data in:

Basically this code works for the first column of the DataGridView. It sort of stops iterating after the last calculation of the row is performed and doesn't change the cc value at all. Meaning the loop gets stuck after the first iteration.

How can I apply the same logic but allow the program not to check the 60 rows (I set the row size to 60). I want to break out of it if there are blanks ONLY if a row is blank and not for a black cell, because if the user leaves one cell blank then it would loop through the 'for each' for how many rows that they is. the problem with this code is that it only inserts the serial number of the LAST checked checkbox and the number of entries of it depends on the number of checked checkbox for example ... if I checked the rows with the serialnumber 123 and 55652341, first the row with the serial number 123 then second 55652341, only 55652341 appears in the database and it is entered twice(twice because two checkboxes are checked)

2) What is the difference between a loop that never ends and a loop that ends?

View 17 RepliesI have a DataGridView (dgv) on a Windows form (VB.NET) which is bound to a datatable. One of the bound columns is a an ID (Foreign Key) to another datatable. All I want to do is Hide the ID column and populate an unbound column with the Name (ParmName) for the user. I searched the foreign value in the datatable and retrieved the information. I set the Value of the cell in the Datarow. All works well, but does not display. The cell accepts the value...I can even Debug.Print the values to the console. They are there just nothing displaying in DataGridView. Nothing odd about DataGridView. Should be straight forward...
