May 3, 2011I am making a custom ComboBox, inherited from Winforms' standard ComboBox. For my custom ComboBox, I set DrawMode to OwnerDrawFixed and DropDownStyle to DropDownList. Then I write my own OnDrawItem method. But I ended up like this:
How do I make my Custom ComboBox to look like the Standard one?
Update 1: ButtonRenderer After searching all around, I found the ButtonRenderer class. It provides a DrawButton static/shared method which -- as the name implies -- draws the proper 3D button. I'm experimenting with it now.
Update 2: What overwrites my control?I tried using the Graphics properties of various objects I can think of, but I always fail. Finally, I tried the Graphics of the form, and apparently something is overwriting my button.

Jun 19, 2009I have a combobox..... When a user clicks on the list inside the combobox my webbrowser opens to the selected items website.how to make the combobox go back to the original text of the combobox?
Example: Combobox list

Royals
Mets

When the user see's the screen the ---- Select Item ---- is visible. When a user clicks a teams name it opens the teams website and the name stays in the box. I want it to go back to ---- Select Item ---- immediately after they click a list item.

Trying to mimic a Tuple as implemented in .Net 4 (For .Net 3) I just realized there is a Tuple(Of T)? This was quite a surprize!

Isn't the whole point of a tuple that its a container for "loosely related data that isnt cohesive enough to make another class"?

Now the 2nd case is good because it is easier to adjust the code should the array size need to change yet my background tells me the 1st case is the one in terms of performance, test.Length - 1 is calculated each time the loop runs. a loop of the 2nd kind for example has a massive effect on java as well as VBscript or javascript.So heres the question, would test.Length - 1 be calculated each time the loop ran, or just the first time?

I have produced a program in VB5 and I have designed a report in crystalreports (4.6). I want to click a button on a form in the program and viewthe report in a view window not in the CR4.6 editor.
I am using the following code to try to call the report however when ittries to start I get a 20536 - Incorrect log on procedures.Additional information:I'm running Win XPI have crystal report control 4.6 selected in the project components menuI have put a CR control on the formI have crystal report control 4.6 selected in the references menu If fixed will this open the report in the viewer window rather than the fullCR editor? Jul 5, 2011I know how to display a records to my combobox from my database but right now I am ran out of idea on how I will display a teacher who has a teaching load in elementary and high school.. I have DEPT field which I has either ELEM or HS. What would be the best thing to solve this kind of problem?
I have two option buttons labeled "HS" and "ELEM". I would like that if any of the option button is selected the name of the teachers who are handling elementary ang highschool will appear in the combobox.

I have set the ComboBox up so that on the form, only "01 :" is displayed, but the DropDownWidth allows the entire string to be seen when the dropdown arrow is clicked.However, once that is done, I am left with "0202" (the last four characters) showing in the ComboBox, rather than "01 :" until the control loses focus. How can I force "01 :" to display?
