In visual basic , when you create a label in form view (via click and drag) is it possible to make the label have both a string and a variable included in it?

I'm creating a Calendar. I want to put Text in the date, but the day is not always the same as the Label name. So, in this case Label27 is actually the 25th of Christmas.At first I have to decide which label. Which I can do. now I need to know how to input text into it. In essence I want to do:
Label27.text = "Christmas"
But, I don't have the Label27, I need to calculate it. Since I know Christmas is 25 and I know that the month starts on the 3 day of the week, I assign:

In this case the text of "lblTarget" would need to be come "Target Text". Basically, the label that is named the value of variable x would need to take on the text of variable y.
I'm looking for a way to search a string variable for two words and copy the text in between them into another variable. This needs to be done as many times as the match occurs.

My vb.net application needs to use a session variable. I don't really know how to use it in ASP.net. I've been trying to use what my books have, but I can't get this label to work. I need the user input to be validated against the database and if their code is in the database, the textbox should disappear and a label will appear saying Welcome. The way I wrote it, I get an error saying the server tag is not well formed and in the codebehind it says that the ID of my label is not declared. Can anyone spot any problems with the code I wrote?

When a number is read in the text file, the label: labelNUMBER_FROM_TEXT_FILE increments by one.

I would like a label to always show the current value of a boolean. This will change a lot of times and would like the label to ALWAYS reflect this.
Is there some kind of way to have the label set to the boolean byref (so its always the same). Currently I'm assigning the label.text = boolean onLoad, so if the boolean changes after that its not reflected.
I'm working on my final for VB.NET, and maybe it's just late...but here's how it goes. I need to make a variable named intMoney and it will be used to keep track of how much money you have and the value will be displayed in a label. Since this 'game' will have a lot of things going on, it needs to be available in a lot of places, not just one click event.
But I need to set intMoney to a starting value of 200 and then assign intMoney to a label called lblMoney. I can't assign intMoney to lblMoney in global. I get build errors. Where should I put the lblMoney.Text = intMoney?
I have a label in my Form which on loading, displays the contents of a text file. The contents of the text file may change and if so, the number of lines also will. I would like the Form to automatically resize itself based on the number of lines in the file. If there are more lines that the size of the label can take, I would like it to either resize or show scroll bars.

I'm trying to use the timer (not a Timer object) in a Do... Until loop. I want the loop to put a single variable into a label. When I do this it works and puts the value into the label (lblOxygenReading):

It goes through the Do loop and the For.. next loop but doesn't change the label. Visual Studio doesn't show any errors when I'm writing the code, but when I run it, it hangs somewhere.
I have a VBA form in Microstation I am using to try and help automate a task. The only problem I am having is I am reading a textbox (Filebox.Text) and setting it as the variable (FN). It works, because I used Msg.Box (FN) to test it. However, in two of the lines of code, I am trying to use (FN) to pass the typed in filename to the command to run in Microstation. Unfortunently, it gets passed on as (FN).dgn instead of the actual filenale typed into the textbox. Is there a way I can make the variable actually seen as a variable? View 3 RepliesThe code below works for the class that I hard coded "XCCustomers" in my RetrieveIDandName method where I use CType. However, I would like to be able to pass in various classes and property names to get the integer and string LIST returned. For example, in my code below, I would like to also pass in "XCEmployees" to my RetrieveIDandName method. I feel so close... I was hoping someone knew how to use CType where I can pass in the class name as a string variable.
Note, all the other examples I have seen and tried fail because we are using Option Strict On which disallows late binding. That is why I need to use CType.I also studied the "Activator.CreateInstance" code examples to try to get the class reference instance by string name but I was unable to get CType to work with that.When I use obj.GetType.Name or obj.GetType.FullName in place of the "XCCustomers" in CType(obj, XCCustomers)(i)I get the error "Type 'obj.GetType.Name' is not defined" or "Type 'obj.GetType.FullName' is not defined"

Now I would like to automatically update LabelValue every time the Value changes his value

I have written a custom comparer (implements IComparer(of string)) to do an alphanumeric sort.Is there a way to sort the List using a given index to determine which position in the String() to sort by? In other words one time I might sort by Index = 0 and another time by Index = 3. The length of all String() in the list is the same.For reference this question is similar to Sort List<String[]> except I am using VB.net and that question is hardwired to Index=0.
EDIT from OP's comments:I started simple with the non custom comparer but I am getting an error: expression does not produce a value. Not sure what I am doing wrong.Here is the code:

I want to alter the .visible property of a label based on if a variable is positive or negative (Hiding it for negative values)
But I want to do this for lots of labels so If Statements are too bulky.
I tried this:
Label1.visible = CBool(IntVariable1)
But it turns out CBool returns True for ANY value and False for Zero.I'd assumed it would be True for positive values and False for negatives.How can I do it without if statements?I considered Modulo or SquareRoots to somehow convert a negative number into zero, but didn't want to complicate things with imaginary numbers.

just found out that replace(string does not do the same as string.replace when my string variable was an empty str the first one returns "nothing" and the second returns an empty string (as expected).just sloppy coding anyhow, it was a function that was converted from classic asp and never rewritten properly. I want to make a form that closes after 30 seconds. And I would like to see a label that counts down evrey second. The closing after 30 seconds ain't a problem, but how to let the label update evrey second?
