Jun 21, 2012I'm used to PHP where I can declare a multi-level array like $something[0][1] = "test";. I need to be able to accomplish the same thing, but I'm using VB.NET. How would I do this?
And sorry if this isn't what a multi-dimentional array is, I might be wrong at what it's called but that's what I want to do.

Oct 5, 2011I have a listbox with two columns. Each listbox item contains a horizontal stacked panel which in turn contains textblocks.
The listbox is empty, with each listbox item being added by the end-user through a couple of textboxes placed elsewhere. The first column accepts strings, and the second column accepts only percentages.
(I have attached a relevant portion of the event sub where a user is adding new rows.)

I would like to be able to check every time the above event is fired that the column of percentages does not exceed 100%. I have a couple of labels below the listbox itself where I would like to show the running total and the remainder.
My questions are:
1) How can I loop through the second column of percentages to show the running total and remainder?
2) Is there something more suitable than a ListBox that could make this easier?

When the user selects a few rows from my list box i want to run code on them selected items which i can do fine, but when the user only selects one of items and hits the button. it goes throught the loop first and gets the picture and all is fine its when it comes back to this function after there are no more items to perform tasks on. it increments index again and then falls over because its out of bounds of the array. i want it to stop after one loop but i also want it to be able to have the multiselect option still so the user has a choice.

Feb 20, 2011I am trying to create a multi dimension array that will search each row of the array and total up the number of 0's 1's, 2's, and 3's. I believe that I need to create some sort of looping structure that will search through each row of the array.I have created a listbox that will allow the user to pick which row of the array the program will search.This is what I have created so far, but I am only just learning and I am having trouble wrapping my head around how arrays work. I'm trying to create an interface that will allow the user to select their availability given a range of times and the days of the week. When I use a Jagged Array I can get this to work. The Reader portion is workig just fine, but the coding is just not clean for this problem.

I now need to load several files at once (say four) so I need four arrays of 196608 bytes and I want to reference them by a number - 0 to 3, assuming the array is zero based. If I use Dim MbyteData(196608, 3) as byte or Dim MbyteData(3, 196608) as byte the syntax seems to be correct but I hit an error ("Number of indices is less than the number of dimensions of the indexed array") when I try to add the extra dimension to the stream read with something like oFileStream.Read(MbyteData(index), 0, MiByteCount).

Apr 20, 2009I have a multi-dimensional array storeHand(20,6) which stores 6 ints. The int at point 0 in each array represents a rank. So the array ends up looking like this:

(6, 2, 3, 0, 6, 5)
(5, 0, 0, 0, 13, 4)
(8, 0, 0, 0, 0, 3)
(2, 0, 0, 0, 0, 1)
I want to re-order the array so that the higher the integer value at position 0 is, the higher it's position will be in the sortedHand(20,6) array. So as above, I'd want sortedHand(20, 6) to look like this at the end:
