Jan 24, 2012I'm working on an application to open pdf files using either the AxAcroPDF or WebBrowser controls.Preferably I'd like to end up using the WebBrowser control, however, I'm having the same errors using either and I need help in resolving this.The following error only occurs at runtime - not in debug mode:
"The instruction at "0x0546622z" referenced memory at "0x00000014". The memory could not be "read".Click on OK to terminate the program.The error only appears if the form containing the AxAcroPDF control is opened.However, if I run the program and not open the form then click on the button to exit the application, the application exits without errors. .net - Unable To Open .DBF Files In Windows 7 That Had Worked Under XP
Dec 20, 2010I have a VB.NET application that will let me preview .DBF files that come in from some of our clients. The application then attempts to spit out a CSV from this file that we can then use in our various environments. This application worked under Windows XP 32 bit. Our company recently upgraded most of us to Windows 7 x64 which has caused this application to fail. I verified that the target build for this application is x86 and not "any CPU" and rebuilt the app but same issues occur.
It originally used System.Data.Odbc and connection.ConnectionString = "Driver={Microsoft dBASE VFP Driver (*.dbf)};SourceType = DBF;SourceDB=" & dbfSourcePath & ";Exclusive=No; Collate=Machine;BACKGROUNDFETCH=NO;".
The location of the failure is at connection.Open(). The error given is: "ERROR [IM001] [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver does not support this function".
I noticed that the drivers for VFP were not installed and that the Access DBF drivers did not work similar to the post here. The fix listed there is to install VFPro SP2, however, we do not have any FoxPro installs to install a service pack on top of. I then tried to install the OLEDB driver for VFP 9.0 and am now using System.Data.OleDb and connection.ConnectionString = "Provider=VFPOLEDB.1; ourceDB=" & dbfSourcePath & ";" but it now tells me that the connection.Open() line has this error: "Feature is not available".
I am at a complete loss as to how to get this application to work under Windows 7 x64. Below are the 2 variants of the code with the file open path removed for readability (I have verified the path and file exist):

Surely this must be possible? You can open multiple files in windows itself simply by selecting them and opening them at the same time. I'm pretty sure the filenames of the selected files will then be in the arguments of wmplayer so that it can open them, but I just don't know in what format.

1) adding STAThread() to the form_load()

Mar 24, 2010I have a VB.Net Windows Forms application that incorporates the WebBrowser object.I want to place the input focus/cursor in a textbox after successfully loading a PDF document in the WebBrowser via the Navigate method.I tried to set the focus (TextBox1.Focus) in the DocumentCompleted event handler, but that failed.Or, I should say that the focus does not stay in the textbox.It appears that all processing initiated by the Navigate method is not complete even when the DocumentCompleted event is fired.And, as a result, the input focus is being moved from the textbox for some reason.
I now set the input focus in the ProgressChanged event handler when the CurrentProgress and MaximumProgress event agruments both have values of zero.This is successful, but I want to be sure that I can rely on the values of the event arguments.After I use the Navigate method, the ProgressChanged event is fired 4 times with the following CurrentProgress and MaximumProgress event argument values: 0 of 10000, 10000 of 10000, 10000 of 10000 (again), and finally 0 of 0.Can I confidently rely on a ProgressChanged event at the absolute end of a successful WebBrowser navigation that has CurrentProgress and MaximumProgress both set to 0?

May 25, 2011I am trying to write a code to save and open data that is in my application. My application contains hundreds of text boxes, combo boxes and labels. I have created an array for each set of data, i.e.,
glist(0).store=combobox1.value

glist(0).quan=label4.text
glist(0).total=label5.text
up to glist(89).
Is there a way to write a code to loop through the array and save the values so that they can be opened at a later time in my application? The array will contain Doubles and Strings.
