I heard that in order to sell a software created using VB, we must buy a license from Microsoft. Is there anyone know where I can buy it? Or maybe someone can tell me how much it costs?

View 4 RepliesI am writing an application that is doing a file conversion.I created a new process in order to run an exe and pass it some arguments in order to do the file conversion. I ran this in the Submit button click event.I added an event handler for when the Process had exited and then continued my code, since I had to wait for the file conversion to complete before continuing.
Everything is running fine now up until the point where I am trying to call a FillBy for one of my datasets. My fill by is accepting a parameter UserID and filling it based on the user id, which is selected in a combo box in the program itself.I keep getting exceptions and it immediately exits the program whenever I try and use this fillby method, if I take it out it completes successfully; however, the new row I just inserted was not added.
I tried adding a tryparse for the value selected from the UserID combobox but I get this cross-thread exception, so I have a feeling the 2 are related.

I have a combo box bound to a datasource. I need to change one combo box (of many) to order the items in descending order.I'm guessing I could order the collection in the dataset, but that will mean all my combo boxes will be reordered?
View 2 RepliesI have a databound Datagridview. The DGV is bound to a datatable of a strongly typed DataSet created using the wizard. Is there any way to re order the columns before displaying them eg: the Columns are displayed in the DGV in this other Col4, Col6, Col3, Col1,Col5, Col2

I realise that the display order followed the Column order in the database table and by extension, the datatable. I have re-arranged the columns in the Database but the Datatable still retains the old order.

I have a table that has a column full of integers, I shoot the DB a SQL "order by 'column name' " string and it returns the table ordered by my column of integers.BUT it returns them like this, and I want them like this

If you want a instance of an object to be created when a form loads or another class is created, you have two options:

I always use the first one. It's more type work but I think it's neater. How about you people and is there any real difference between the two?
I can usually find the answers to most of my questions via the Google Gods, but not this time.I have a form that has a TabPageControl and on that page a collection of labels and text boxes via a usercontrol.
On the form I have a button that allows the user to create a new tabpage, when the code adds a new page, it automatically adds the UserControl collection. I can't get my head around how to access the objects on the newly created tabpage.
What I need to be able todo is take the index of the tabpage that has focus and translate that against the UerContol name, but I havn't a clue how to do it!

I have been trying to get my tab order correct but I cant get a combo box to be in the correct spot it only will let me focus on it first or last. When I manually enter the tabindex of each control then view the tab orderthe combo box (whos tab index i set to 6) is 1.6.

I would like to get all payments to show in the second combobox that relate to the order # selected in the first, process that payment by changing other values in other textbox's. Then have that payment psoted as processed back to the DB table. I have a binding satament, but it pulls all payments, and not just per order. How can I get this to select just by order #?

1 in 5 labels but the smallest result to label1 the second result to label2.....and the bigest result to label5

How do I set it up so that when the user tabs through some controls inside a tab page, when they tab out of the last control on that page, it moves the tabControl to the next page, and focuses the first control in that page?
