VS 2010 Dataset Created A New Process In Order To Run An Exe And Pass

I am writing an application that is doing a file conversion.I created a new process in order to run an exe and pass it some arguments in order to do the file conversion. I ran this in the Submit button click event.I added an event handler for when the Process had exited and then continued my code, since I had to wait for the file conversion to complete before continuing.
Everything is running fine now up until the point where I am trying to call a FillBy for one of my datasets. My fill by is accepting a parameter UserID and filling it based on the user id, which is selected in a combo box in the program itself.I keep getting exceptions and it immediately exits the program whenever I try and use this fillby method, if I take it out it completes successfully; however, the new row I just inserted was not added.
I tried adding a tryparse for the value selected from the UserID combobox but I get this cross-thread exception, so I have a feeling the 2 are related.

I have created an application in which I have to make a report with ReportViewver from Microsoft.Everything ok until now. I have created the report and for this report I have created a dataset. This dataset contains data for every month in every year from 2010 to 2015. With this dataset I am populating a graphic but my problem is that I want to select the year and create graphic for one year.I do not know how to insert a parameter in the dataset. In sql is very easy by in Access is different and if I try to put something like ...' where year_column=@year_parameter' I receive an error.

When you change a dataset schema (example you add a new table) in Visual Studio 2010 (Visual Basic), you must rebuild your project in order to use the new table in a control, is that a new thing or is this a bug?

i have a Userform that I created in MS Word that automates almost half my job. I'm just looking to re-create this form in VB.Net so that I can keep up with the trends.What I did previously was load a listbox based on the contents of a data table in another word document. I've searched for other methods of creating a datasource in VB 2010 Express but I'm unsure how to load the contents of a dataset or datatable as opposed to a table from MS Word. Ideally, I'd like to abandon using Word tables and create a dataset in VB and load a listbox based on that. I do not have a copy of MS Access and I'm unfamiliar with MySql, which I'm guessing would are the easiest methods of loading a dataset. I also thought that maybe if I could create a seperate form (let's just call it form1) specifically for entering new data and saving the form as data is added, then linking the datasource from that form to a second form (form2) that has the listbox that will populate with the contents from the data in form1.

I am using VB.Net 2010 and calling a stored procedure with a dataset to get values in a table plus "created" values.
The values for the "created" values do not come across from the stored procedure. They all show as zero in the IDE and False for the variables. I know I am getting the record because the first five values come across from the stored procedure into the variables correctly.
When I step through a VB6 program using ADO the values are pulled across from the stored procedure.
The problem seems to be in the interface between a dataset and "created" fields in a stored procedure.[code]...

This might not be so 'VB' as it is 'SQL using VB' I have an application with a built in MS Access DB. I have a table that has a column full of integers, I shoot the DB a SQL "order by 'column name' " string and it returns the table ordered by my column of integers.BUT it returns them like this, and I want them like this
0 6
1 5
2 4

I have a form that holds dynamically created pictureboxes. I have a ContextMenuStrip that is opened when the user right-clicks an individual picturebox that allows them to change the Tag of that specific image. When they click the "Change Tag" item from the ContextMenuStrip, a new form is brought up allowing them to change the Tag in a Textbox.
My problem is, I can't figure out how to pass the specific picturebox's (that was right-clicked) Tag into the new form so that the user can edit it and set when they click the "set" button. (Named "Button1" below)

i'm having trouble opening a text file to process and order the data in it. When i try to read the first line of characters an error message occurs saying: 'Variable words1 is used before it has been assigned a value.' I have an XML file that is being updated via ASP.NET. The user should be able to add new nodes to the XML file AT ANY LOCATION in the node tree.
The XML file is read into a DataSet using DataSet.ReadXml(filename).
A new row is added to the appropriate DataTable, using InsertAt(row, index).
I have confirmed using a DataGrid, and using a loop (For Each dRow in Table, Response.Write..) that the new Row was inserted into the table at the correct spot (in my example code, the 3rd position).
However, The WriteXml() method is writing the node to the END of the XML tree! I can't get it to see the tree with the node in the correct location.

I have simple ASP.net web form. With a simple click on a button i need to call a the Multithread process in order to execute my querry in SQL Server DB. I know that my querry willl take up to 45 min to be executed. While the process is running i need to display some status information like: Starting time, Time elapsed, % of completed...So after running the process i got the following error message: "Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding."So i have 2 problems to fix:
Avoid getting timeout while processing/calling the stored procedure. I tried to add cmd.CommandTimeout = 1000 but it didn't work out!
Display correctly Time elapsed and % Completed while processing.

I have this application that I haven't created and I don't have the source for. But it's really handy in handling and recording the time I've used on different projects. But it has this annoying pop-up that comes up that contains a window and some debug text I believe. It wasn't done by a professional, it was just a hobby project. Everything is working even though this window appear. So I was wondering if it's possible to "hijack" a window and minimizing or closing it somehow?

Is there a way in vb.net to check whether new memory pages have been created inside a process(such as winlogon, svchost etc) For eg : if i there is a certain value that may change if new memory pages are created inside the process. Then i can compare the previous value and the new value (after pages have been created) and make it sure that new pages have been created inside that process.

I want to implement two programs one for sending and another for receiving using a single socket. I have a search page in my application where I am searching the database for the records that meet the specified conditions that the user selects. All of this works by creating the dataset, datatable, and dataadapter in the code. I then take a created bindingsource link it to the created datatable and then attach the bindingsource to my datagridview to display the results. Now what I am trying to do is to figure the Mean, Median, Mode and Standard Deviation of the results that were found above. My question is how to I run a select query on the code created table. I have the select query I want to use and when I try to use it in the code it talks about the connection. Now I have a dataset that is part of the project and I have the on just for the search page. Let me know if you need any code samples.
