Pass Value To Master Pages User Control?

I have problem. I have site.master wich includes coulple of user controls. Now I need to pass value (srting) from actual pages code behind to master pages user control (Property) .
So my master is like this:
<%@ Master Language="VB" CodeFile="/scripts/pohjakoodit.master.vb" Inherits="pohjakoodit" AutoEventWireup="false" debug="false" %>
... on the end of master there is:
<ucSheriff:sheriffala ID="sheriffala" statvalue="atesti" runat="server" />
Then I have actual page wich strarts like this:
<%@ Page Language="vb" MasterPageFile="site.master" AutoEventWireup="false" CodeFile="/scripts/alkuuutisetxw.aspx.vb" Inherits="uutiset_index" debug="true" %>
The sheriffala.ascx has property

So how do I pass string to user controls property from code behind file?

I'm doing some internationalization for first time, and I have an issue: I would like to know if it is possible to internationalize from a master page. I added a dropdown list with some languages and I'm using a session , so when I change a language, the new Culture is detected and it changes, the page is reloaded and the contents (I'm using resources) translated. Can someone tell me how to get the name of the child page being called in a Master page scenario. For example, if I have the following masterpage:

I am using Master Pages and I am truing to dynamically add hidden text boxes on the form with the NAMEs that Google Checkout expects.

Using VB.NET, I execute the following code:
'Name
Dim hidName As New HtmlInputHidden
hidName.ID = "item_name_" & count.ToString
hidName.Value = item
Form.Controls.Add(hidName)
But because I use Master Pages, the control is renamed to "ctl00$item_name_1".

Note that I tried to set the Name property (hidName.Name = "item_name_" & count.ToString) and also tried to add the name to the Attributes list. This strangely had no effect on the name attribute whatsoever. When I am not using master pages, I notice that when I set the ID property the NAME is automatically assigned the same value. Is there a way to control the name of a dynamically added control when you are using master pages?

I have a master page with menu in it and i have to include that master page in all the pages i have . when i am trying to include it in my Default .aspx page i get several errors such as Parser Error Message: Only Content controls are allowed directly in a content page that contains Content controls.

I have 2 master pages with same (href) links on top of the page. Now these links load on the same master page when clicked on (by requirement). The problem is both these master pages have same links, so basically the same page shall be loaded in the master page.
Now what i need is when the person is on Master Page 1 and clicks on the link it should load in the same page. Whereas if the user is on Master Page 2 and clicks on the same link, i should be able to change the master page from 1 to 2 and load that in Master Page 2.

In my asp.net projects there is a master page and there is a control on Contentplaceholder1. Changing this control's id after rendered like "ctl00_Contentplaceholder1_control" in my local. But at the server its changing like "Contentplaceholder1_control". When i used documents.getelelentbyid('ctl00_Contentplaceholder1_control') js function, its working on my local but not working at the server. So why disappearing "ctl00_" when app runs at the server?
Edit:Why doesn't the server side control id contains "ctl00_" after rendered?

I have a user control that checks if a certain query string and session value are present then returns a boolean based on that, if it's true I want to set the master page. I've found various C# examples here, but I can't seem to get a VB version working.I want to be able to pass a simple variable into a User Control to determine whether it shows a certain section of data.It's basically a Customer Data form, and in some circumstances I need to show a line with the customers account number and sort code, and in some I don't, so my user control:
<controls:customerForm ID='customerForm' showBankDetails="no" runat='server' />
But I can't work out what to do with the showBankDetails variable in Code Behind to stop it from rendering that section, or simply hide it with a CSS snippet.How do I access that variable in the code behind using VB.NET?

I want to know what the best practice is for passing values (sometimes multiple values) between two asp.net pages
In the past I have used query strings to pass a value in asp like this:
href='<%# Eval("TestID","../Net/TestPage.aspx?TestID={0}") %>'><%#Eval("Title")%> </a>
I assume you can do this in the code behind but I do not know the best way.
I also assume it is possible to pass more than one value.

1) when i click a listbox the values are displayed in respective fields from database.When i click PROCEED TO NEXT STEP in SLIDE-2 i get slide-3 where i get all values of Slide -2(FLIGHTID,FROM.TO)..Now the problem is when i press BACK and select new selection from listbox i am not able to get new values in this SLIDE-3 .I am getting the old values only..2) I declared public variables and sent all values to SLide-2 but when i press BACK and again select a value from LISTBOX i m getting no value in SLIDE-3

how to control windows 7 master volume. I would like to get the current volume / set the volume and also mute / unmute it.I've found lots of examples of pre vista volume control but only a single c# which is no good to me beings a major newbie with vb.net (I've play with vb6 before now)As far as I can see I need to do something with DefaultAudioEndpoint.. but what I'm not sure. Is it feasible to do master detail in textbox control? If I do it with datagridview control, I have no problem. However, when I tried to use textbox control, I had running error. I have googled it for a month and don't see anybody dealing with this questions so hope somebody can give me a definite answer. Maybe it's not possible to use textbox control at all.

Scenario: Every page on the website will have a menu bar at the top consisting of a number of buttons. Some pages have the same amount of button that do the same thing (example redirect to a page) but some of the buttons depend on information currently on the page.Problem: I would like to be able to override the buttons on the control so that I could handle it per page. I was also thinking maybe it would be easier to use events and handle it that way instead. Are either of these approaches possible and if not is there an alternative?The code I currently have is below

I want to create a UI that uses a tab control to display multiple listview controls, one on each tab page. The number of tab pages/listviews is dynamic and could reach around 20. The listviews are in virtual mode and are populated from an object (custom class) in memory.It seems very wasteful to create 20 listviews. I seem to remember that back in VB4 days the tab control had only one page, and you changed the display yourself in code. Is there a way to do something similar with VB.net (VS2008/Framework 2.0) i.e. just show one listview and repopulate it according to which tab was clicked by the user? Something like this:

how can i call a VB function - deleteevent() in usercontrol.ascx.vb from a javascript function in clickhandler(e) in usercontrol.ascx. The call should cause a postback because I need the usercontrol to display the changes.I am currently trying to do it by using a linkbutton with style display:none, and calling its click event from the javascript function. But i dunno how to call the click event.

I need to change which pages of a tab control are available at different times. Right now I'm just disabling the unwanted tabs (TabControl1.TabPages(x).Enabled = False), but I've got a user who can't comprehend why she can still view the tab page if she can't use it.
So I need to either hide the tabs altogether or disable them such that you can't switch to that tab page at all.

I've created a tab control and on one of the pages I added a button, but I cannot move the button around with the mouse!? I can change the buttons position within the tab control page using the property Location and I can size the button using the mouse and the button is NOT locked. I even tried creating a new project with just the tab control and it still does the same thing. I can, tho, move the button using the keyboard arrows!
I'm using VS2010 V10.0.30319.1 RTMREL on WinXP SP3.
