Form1.vb When it loads I want to be populated from TypeOfRecipeComboBox from the access table.That would be on the order of French, Italian, German, Ect.When I click on the type of recipe it should populate the combo box with the RecipeNameComboBox click on the recipe name and it will show that recipe in IngredientsTextBox and in PreparationTextBox.
I would like to keep it as simple as can be, I'm just starting with VB.I also looked in the code area here and didn't see much I understood.I do have the form built and the data source done.

I'm having some trouble trying to export a datatable to Access. I've built an Access DB and Table identical to the datatable that I'm trying to export using ADOX.Now using and OLEDB connection I'm trying to populate that table. The following code works just fine in another app written in 2005 but not in 2008 for some reason.
Basically I'm bringing in the empty Access table into a dataset.Filling that table with the rows from the export datatable.Then running the dataadapter's update method to send the data to Access.The problem is the da_a.Update doesn't seem to work. No errors, the Access table just isn't being populated. I checked my before and after counts. I know that the datatable is being populated. It's just not landing in Access.

I have a checked listbox that I've populated with a table that has three columns, Name, Address, Phone - and have done so successfully, but when i display the items in the listbox, i would like to retrieve additional values of the checked items other than the primary displayitem.[code]'we now have an array full of the Name column only, from our checked items 'i'd like to grab the other two as well (not to display in the listbox, but to use elsewhere as variables) 'and keep the checked listbox as a control in the above code, the fill_array variable is only populated with the items displayed in the checkedlistbox - my question is, can i keep the display item the same and pull the other two columns from the datasource, but only for the ones that make the checkeditems list?

After I have retrieved my data from my access database, I would like to insert text into one of the columns in a new row. Is this possible? Here's a snipit of my code I use to retrieve the data from access:

It's the rtotal_time value that I need to insert into a new row, in and cell, the datagrid.

I have a DataGridView on a form that is being populated from a SQL table dataset by giving criteria from a previous form. I have 6 columns in the dataset, of which the last column should be combo box column containing items "Done" and "Pending". How do I make this bound column to a combo box column and display the value as well as the alternate item too in the combo box?

I need to Update Access Database Table with Data from a Different Table. Not all the rows of original Table to be Updated will be affected. How do you loop through the 2 Tables to do the required Update.
The Table to be updated is called "RecordList" and Table with new Data is called "RecListReport".Every attempt I've made won't work. I tried to Use 2 Datagridviews but couldn't get it to work right.

I'm writing an asp.net page with a simple registration form that connects to my access database and inserts the values in the table. So I have my database, my registration page, everything looks fine in my code, but there's a syntax error I can't seem to figure out. I have two Access database, say database One.mdb and Two.mdb. I want to use VB2005 to export tblCustomer from One.mdb to Two.mdb, and replace the existing tblCustomer in Two.mdb, during run time. I basically want to simulate the export function that is available in MS Access (which can export one table from one Access database to another) with VB2005 during run time. I can think of a way by querying the table to a dataset and then delete everything on the other database before filling the table in that database with the dataset. However, there should be something simpler and faster than that, shouldn't it? Any idea?

i am trying to create a login access for my application. Well, i have 2 account type, that is manager and receptionist. And both account type have their own forms. which mean if i log in as manager, then i will open to the manager forms, and if i log in as receptionist then i will be open to receptionist forms. how can I access SQL data from VB? I am working on a purchased application with a bunch of 3rd party VB controls. What I would like to accomplish is to validate certain controls for user entry and I have one 3rd party control that has a table grid in it displaying SQL data and was wondering if it's possible to validate that SQL table data. And to complicate things, the 3rd party control is located in a different form altogether from the form where I need to insert my validation button.

I have an Access 2007 DB With 3 Tables I fill a form with information from 2 of the tables which works fine I then want to add a row to the third table with the information obtained from the form.(I know this may seem like duplicating data but there is a reason for doing this that I can explain if needed) This is where I am having the problem. I have tried several approaches with no success.The following code works fine I get no errors and it even says it added a new record but it does not. when I look at my access table there are no changes.Why can I get info from the DB but not Write back(yes I have the properties set to "update if newer"[code]...

I am having a problem storing the contents of a field to a STRING variable. It works when the field actually has data but when it's empty, i can't do anything with it. I would like to test to see if it's empty but I run into problems there as well.

I have a table in a database that I need to access. At the moment I am trying to get the Table information to go into a dropdown box. I know how to open a database but I don't know how to open a SQL one. Also when I used VB5 I used to "Set" the database to open. When I type "Set" it comes up in the blue letters and then disappears. Has Set changed to something else?

I've created a Point of Sale program using Access and VB.net. I have an Inventory table from which items are sold. There is a quantity column and I want to be able to reduce the quantity for any item by the quantity that was sold in the point of sale front end. For example, there are 5 bracelets in inventory and 1 is sold. The quantity is typed into a textbox. The inventory quantity should now be 4 in Access. I don't know how to make this happen from the point of sale screen.

I have an Access database with some table and some queries.Here you see one query which returns 2507 records:I also added this database to a vb.net project.However, if i try to fill the datatable of the query with the specific tableadapter, the datatable stays empty. Also when I click the query in the dataset and choose 'preview data' I get none of the 2507 records:Any idea why he won't load the records into the dataset?
