is there a way that i can print selected objects only with their positions? I want to print only some pictures in their positions. Ive been trying to single them out but they end up in the top left corner of the paper.

In my code, whenever the user moves the mouse, I want to have two variables store the mouse position's X and Y value, however when I move the mouse over an object such as a picturebox or a label, it will no longer give me the value until I move the pointer off the object onto the form. Are there any methods that will give me the absolute mouse coordinates regardless of whether the mouse is over an object or not?
View 9 RepliesRight now I have a program in which I'm trying to read the mouse cursor position relative to the window form, but I am currently having a problem. It only works if the mouse is directly over the form, and it will not work if I hold the mouse over an object, such as a label, a command button, or a picturebox. I tried resolving this by adding handle clauses for mousemove over those objects, however, while it works for the label, it doesn't work for the pictureboxes. This is because the pictureboxes are in an array and are defined at runtime.How would I go about resolving this?

The above line prints the data contents of the ROData array in position three. I would like to be able to assign a specific position accross the line to have the printer print the data at without left padding the array data.

I have looking for a tutorial or class that demonstrates more than a trivial example of saving a windows position on closing. The ones I have found don't seem to work on all systems because of:
1. Multiple monitors. (and resolution between those monitors)
2. Toolbar size and position (toolbar is only on the primary monitor, well sometimes)
3. Sometimes the programs dont open on the right monitor they were closed on.
Is there an extensive class or tutorial on all the stuff a programmer needs to get right to have a window size and position persisted between executions?

Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.

I'm just learning VB and it's only a simple text editor but I can't find any good sites or posts that help me in understanding how to do it. These are not really covered in any of the 'beginner' books I have acquired either.
My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.
