[Code] My problem is that when I print the document I get the following "311salesmeeting". This is the data from my text boxes, but I want the form to print as it is on my screen. I have done some reading up and the only other way I can see to print a form is to load the form into a bitmap file and print that. Is this correct, or can I alter my code some how.

Apr 12, 2010I've inherited a project in VB6.NET 2008. There is a Panel control where graphs are drawn along with titles, axes, legends etc. What is drawn on the panel is also printed WYSIWYG (on a print command, of course) The problem I have is that the code for printing is entirely separate to the code for drawing. I want to merge the two so that common code is used. I'd like to work in the same units for both, which means setting either the pixels per inch for the Graphics object for the printing (so I can work in pixels) or doing the equivalent of the opposite so I can work in inches (printed inches, not screen inches).

Jul 22, 2009I am creating a program that I would like to distribute. I am using printform in VB 2008 to print my form. My form is the size of my computer screen...15 in. If the program is run on a different computer with a different screen size, will it affect the appearance of the form on the screen or the printing of the form? If the form is run on a laptop, for example, with a smaller screen, will it cut off my form and thus cut off the form during printing? Will a bigger screen increase the size of the form and not allow it to fit correctly when printed? I was just curious and wondering.

Mar 18, 2011I am new to VB and having an issue with Print Screen. I'm trying to take a screen shot, show it in a picBox and then save the image to a file. Eventually, I want to add a timer and have the webcam open on screen so that I can take a set of pictures and save them to the hard drive (a very simple "security" cam).What's happening is when I click on my "Start" button the screen shot always seems capture the last screen event (ie: if I move the dialog from left to right and click "Start" the dialog is still showing on left side of screen shot). Not sure what's going on with this. I tried variations to update (picBox.Refresh(), .Update(), and .Show()) without any change. It's as if two clicks are required to make a capture.Also, I'm trying to save the image that's been captured and can't seem to get that working.

May 1, 2011I am looking to create simple application that means that when the 'Print Screen' button is pressed, the screenshot is not just sent to the clipboard but saved to the desktop in either JPEG or PNG format.The application will run at startup so that the 'new' print screen functionality is there but the interface of the app is opened manually.(the app interface includes simple options such as choose where file is saved.)

However, it is a requirement of the project I am working that users should not be able to use hot keys, especially print screen, ctrl P, ctrl C, and ctrl V. There are no other controls on my form, so how can stop users using these keys, but only in this browser? Further, my asp.net page uses an iframe tag to show a word document, and again, I need to stop them from copying and pasting from the word document into another word document through the browser. Can I stop them in my browser in app stack?

Aug 22, 2011I'm making a simple little program. It's going to save the image in the clipboard (from pressing Print Screen) to the folder that the .exe is in. My problem is trying to find out how to save the image file with a user-specified name, such as "Image", then adding numbers to it. So it would be like Image_00001, Image_00002, etc. I would like to make the name be specified using a textbox (pretty easy). I know how to get it to save as different image formats and all, and I know how to get it to save as a hardcoded name in a hardcoded location, but that it isn't what I'm aiming for. If you've ever used the screenshot function of Fraps or MSI Afterburner, then that's basically what I'm trying to make here.
I've already searched these forums and did some Googling, but couldn't find anything that I was looking for. Not even a sample program with something like this. I found something in the CodeBank, but it's all the stuff I've already gotten implemented.

I start either, a VB.Net or VBA procedure and within 30 seconds the Excel worksheet (previously displayed) blanks out. In both VB.Net and VBA,ScreenUpdating = False. My expectation is that the previously displayed screen would stay static as if I left my desk to get a cup of coffee; came back and the same ole Excel worksheet was still there?Of course, setting VBA Screen Updating = False accomplishes two goals: 1) speeds up processing and 2) saves the user from seeing unnecessary "garbage-processing" steps.Why does VBA or VB.Net ScreenUpdating = False not freeze the screen at the time of its invoking?

Mar 16, 2011I have an RTB. Actually it is a RichTextBoxPrintCtrl as per KB 146022 but I don't think that matters.
I am printing the contents of the RTB on a label. I have determined the appropriate margin settings to cause the contents of the RTB to print on the appropriate label (there are 4 per sheet). That all works.
But I want what the user sees on the screen as he types to match what prints. So if he types three lines of data he gets three lines on the label. Also, if scroll bars appear, that is a clue that he have filled up one label. By trial and error I got the size of the RTB just right using the default font (MS Sans Seriff 8.25).
But when I or the user changes font size, the on screen display no longer matches the printed label. The label prints properly but it is not an exact representation of what is on the screen.
Is there a way to fix this problem so the screen representation of the label is always correct even when the font changes.

Apr 8, 2011I have been able to do the exercise's in the first 2 chapters and half the exercise's in the third chapter of the text book (programming in visual basic 2008, Julia Case Bradley & Anita C. Millspaugh). but this one is making my head want to explode. please point me in the right direction with this.
Heres the problem. The company has instituted a bonus program to give its employees an incentive to sell more. For every dollar the store makes in a four-week period, the employees receive 2 percent of sales. The amount of bonus each employee receives is based upon the percentage of hours he or she worked during the bonus period (a total of 160 hours). The Calculate button will determine the bonus earned by this employee, and the Clear button will clear only the name, hours-worked, and bonus amount fields. A Print button allows the user to print the form. Do not allow missing or bad input data to cancel the program; instead display a message to the user.

Dec 14, 2011My instructor told us how to print documents and how to use databases. What the instructor did not mention is how to print or print a preview of records within a DatabaseDataSet. The book "Programming in Visual Basic 2010" does not explain how to print or do a print preview of Database Source records from within a form. The only thing I was told was to test the print document first before you try to do a print preview. Within a form I used a DataGridView to add, delete, and update the database. So now all I need to do is figure out how to print the updated records from the DataGridView and how to print a preview of the records within the DataGridView. So I hope my question is clear enough to give me assistance on how I can perform these two actions. Thanks this would be a great help, and since the class is online we can get assistance from any sources that we have.
