I have a VB.NET program that I wish to to publish. In the code it references a HTML page that I created.Instead of having the URL hard coded (example: url...)I would like to have it relative to wherever the encoder is installed to (example: /folder/index.html)
View 3 RepliesWhen I publish my program, I can't see the folder that I have in my solution explorer appears together with other files. I have been wondering how to add a folder or I do it wrongly. I have using this method:-Project.. add... new folder and I name it as SC1. But when I publish it, I can't see in in application files(It's not embedded together). I can't use add existing as it required me to add a very specific files (Not a folder ). As what I can see, there is not specific properties for folder sc1 (build action /copyto output directory).

View 3 RepliesI have an click once application. The prerequisites which i have mentioned is .net Framework 2.0. If the prerequisite is not there in publish.html, i get a button to download it, else the Run button will install the application (which is developed by me) . This works fine in all the machines, except for one in which i have the following versions of .NET Framework,
.NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 3.2.30729
.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 3.5.30729
.NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 2.2.30729
In this machine even though we have Framework 2.0 and higher versions, i am getting the button to download Framework. This is not correct.
I have added some files that I need to be downloaded to the Application start up path. So I set Build Action as content now the files have been copied some where [code]...

I am making a html application and would like to make an ftp as a folder for the html you are writing, similar to that of visual basic's solution explorer. eg. images wont show from the index location, basicaly something allong the slines of a local ftp / solution explorer is needed desparatley.

View 6 RepliesI have a program in vb express 2008 which I would like to publish in a little more professional manner than provided in the standard vb express package. I would at least like to include a "Terms of Use" document the user must agree to before installing the program. I have dovnloaded and installed web developer, c# and vs 2008. Do any of these include a professional installer? If not are there any free installer packages available? I am 72 and live on a limited budget so I cannot aford an expensive package for one program.

I will share it so I'd like to have just one "setup" file which creates the another necessary files. (or just one bigger file?) but the main thing is that I dont want to start share 4-5 files...
I get it worked on my computer, that's not a problem. But then I upploaded all of the files (4-5) to mediafire, destroyed program from my computer and downloaded those files: Program didnt worked: Sayd just "U havent downloaded all necessary files" (something like that).
Well I think it's possible also to publish to new wep site. In fact I tryed to make wep site (with www.nettisivu.org ) (finnish quite good wep-page-creater) but the same result: no results at all. If this is the easier way, how I could upload my program straight to that site? In that "wep-page-creator" the final site looks that: xxxxx.nettisivu.org and editing page looks: xxxxx.nettisivu.org/wp-admin/page.php?action=edit..... (xxxxx=my name for site)

I dont have a web site or web page, and this project is just a bit of fun (fitness test).

I have two slightly different versions of my VB applications that I would like to publish simultaneously. The differences are minimal and mostly include GUI and some internal logic. Incorporating changes into a single application is not an option right now.
I tried publishing and installing them separately but the latest installer always overwrites whatever has already been installed. For example, if I install App v1, then App v2, only App v2 will be visible. If App v1 is installed after App v2, only App v1 will be visible. What I want to have is to have them both installed. I am using Visual Studio 2008.

I tried to publish first in my local disk but after publishing Im having some errors "Critical error: Required processing file is missing" after clicking the setup.exe file. ive tried playing with the code moving around the folder names, making sure there capitals are correct, etc. but nothing works. it creates the file in the wrong spot.
I want to copy an HTML file from one location to another using VB.net. When i use any of the three FileCopy, System.IO.File.Copy, My.Computer.FileSystem.CopyFile it copies only the file and not the "filename_files" folder which contain its associated images and scripts.
What i want to do programatically is copy a.html to another location as b.html
when i do that and open b.html it opens it without any images and scripts.
