Put Form Size In The Mysettings Of Vb2010express Application?

I've been tortured with this question for few days. As I understood, you could put some of form's properties to mysettings, actually binding them with some named values as strings.It's not very hard, and it was well documented. I tried it and it works fine.Only, not all properties are offered to be bound with mysettings, only some of them. 1, My form application works well on my computer, but my colleague told me the size of window is not adjustable on his computer. Which property should I set to adjust size of window?2, THere are tabs, groups... in my form. After I maximize the form, how do I adjust the items in the form to be compatible with teh maximum form window?

I developed a form application on my computer, but when it was used in another computer with different screen size, i was told the form didn't fit. i want to make it so my toolstriptextbox will smoothly size with the form as i resize it. I tried using a timer and just say txtbox1.width = me.size.width - 100 or whatever space for the buttons and handling it for when it reaches negative numbers (with autosize off on the textbox) but its not at all smooth.

Is possible to change this path? For example, in my case I save app data in "ProgramData" folder (Vista & W7) and I would like save this config file in the same folder.

I have a connectionstring in MySettings which all my datasets use. The project has three copies of the same database: LIVE, WHATIF and TEST. I need to have a dialog in my startup that asks the user which db they want to use and then I thought I could amend MySettings.Connection string dynamically. Hey-ho it's read-only! Is there any other approach I can use where I change a connection string once and all my datasets will then point to the selected db?

Well currently I'm needing to store various settings, strings, integers, items, etc, within the program settings. So far this has gone without a snag and is working as planned except for one thing, Comboboxes. I have browsed through the various types of settings I can save to and the closest is a "System.Collection.Specialized.StringCollection", however VB is throwing up an error saying that:

It appears that when you access My.Settings.Default in VB.NET, your thread's CurrentPrincipal changes. Consider the following code.

Is this expected? Is it documented anywhere? I couldn't find any references to it.It also seems to only do this the first time My.MySettings.Default is accessed, which means that a workaround might be to touch the property to initialize it before attempting to set the thread's CurrentPrincipal. Would there be any undesirable side effects to doing that?

Why would a .sln solution file open and appear empty in Microsoft Visual Basic 2010 Express - i.e. no windows showing projects and code files etc.When I inspect the file in a text editor, it contains references to vbproj files (which are present) which indicate that it should not appear as empty.No error messages are reported when the file is opened.

I would like to make a form that prints the same size as a Legal Form, (8 1/2" x 14") When I check on the internet I see that the pixels can very at 75dpi the form is 637 x 1050 pixels. But at 300dpi the form is 2550 x 4200. Do I have to build the form as per the dpi ratio? I cannot make the form greater than 1612 x 1212. I have tried serching the internet for ways of expanding the form to greater pixels in the height than 1212. I am running Verion 7 of Windows and I am using Visual Basic 2010 Express.

I have a system in VB.Net 2003, and that system takes a very long time to load. From the minute I click on the EXE, it takes one minute before the log in screen appear (P4 with 1GB RAM, no other application running). The size of the EXE is 33.2MB. I think the problem is the way I code the program, 1) I declare all the form as obj when I first load the system and I've got over a hundred forms. I try to load them as I need them but it does not work cause forms with sub form would give me an error. 2) I am using dataset as we know dataset is not very efficient but I don't know how else to connect to the database. Is there anything like ADODB in VB6?
