I have this code, it lists all the photos in the list box, i want to rename them and remove the spaces in the files names, such as "Photo1.jpg" not "photo 1.jpg"

So if the postcode in the database is AB12CD and the user types AB1 2CD the space is removed on submitting the form and the match statement shows. This is not working though.

After reading the row from file I insert it in a database table. But first value of each row aoutomatically appends two blank spaces, even if there are no blank spaces at the begining of each row. In this case, acmecadconverter.exe from [URL]. Then the PDF that is created needs a unique watermark, so I call a second application for that called pdftk.exe from [URL]
Everything works as intended, except when I try file names that contain spaces. The file system object does not tolerate spaces in the drawing file name. For instance, the following command gives me a system.io.filenotfoundexception...
My.Computer.FileSystem.RenameFile("Test Flowchart1.dwg", "Test~Flowchart1.dwg")
It's the same problem for all of my File System commands. Either file not found or invalid arguments.

View 17 RepliesI have multiple file upload boxes on a form in my mvc3 application. Request.Files shows 3 files when I put a break point in the below function and look at it.. Problem is other than coding a counter and using a select case I dont see a way to handle saving each file name to the database column it belongs to... Is there away to assign the variable on the fly I guess you could say So that the foreach loop would drop the file in the correct column. Ie handoutFile1, handoutFile2 , handoutFile3, Etc. As it stands the below will overwrite the filename in handoutfile1 every time the loop is gone through. I thought about throwing a counter in the loop and just put a select case on it to assign the db column based on the counter number. Seems like a cheap work around though. [Code]

I just changed a control on a form from a masked textbox to a normal textbox because I wrote my own code to validate the data. I'm trying to clear the leading spaces that were created for this column in an Access database using the LTrim function and it doesn't work for some reason. The column is " :30" in the table and when I LTrim it and save the changes, it's still " :30" , not ":30". Is that leading entry not a space character?
