I am trying to generate a report html file and email it as an attachment with vb.net I know how send mail and attachments.
Do I need to generate the html file, save it as an .html file to the local disk where the program runs, then add its file path to the attachment property to send it to the recipient? It is going to be a rather large report, and I would like to send it as an attachment instead of directly inside of the email itself.
i will need to generate a report based on user input for every food that will look like this:i plan to have a pdf displayed on a winform using the adobe pdf reader control. the pdf will be the header of the above graphic, but the list of foods and the reactions will be generated. this is what i need: i need the form to be printable to exactly at a usual paper size, what ever it is 8.5x11 or something i need to have images and probably textboxes that will go on top of the pdf. so each food name will probably be a separate textbox and each reaction picture will be created during run time from the user input.i would like to clarify that i will not need to generate a new pdf file. i will just use an existing pdf file and will put images and text over it what is the simplest way to accomplish this report?

i am creating an application that i want to load a pre-designed crystal report from database records and print it in pdf format and send it as e-mail attachment. I know how to send it as an attachment but i don't know how to print it in pdf automatically for sending.

Here is what I need the program to do:
1.Have an input box where the name of an image can be posted. (This image will be copied over to the website, but not from this program, a standard FTP client will be used for that)
2. When the 'Generate' button is clicked, a .html page will be generated which is completely empty (Except for tags and such, which is required) and code to embed the name of the image (from step 1)
So this way the 2 files (HTML and Image) can be uploaded to the server, and made live relatively quickly. There is a flash application that auto-updates that displays the avaliable forms that has been made, but it is a pain to do it, and plus, it wastes time from the IT guy's jobs where as with this program, the receptionist could do it, as she handles the forms.
I'm looking for a way of generating mhtml from a page in my asp.net web app.Other than generating all the mhtml myself i'm a bit stumped....

I have not used crystal repots IDE ever and I was wodnering can we create a report in crystal reports 2008 based on my application dataset? HOW? Right now, I am working on taking a self-updating excel sheet and building small html blocks from the sheet which will fit into a JQuery list sorter and image viewer (tags and tags ). The problem I am running into is that by placing the code onto the page in a literal the html is never placed on the page, it is generated on the fly, thus the JQuery handler can not hook the tags and the sorter does not function. I know there is a way to add variables from the code behind with <%=var%>, but I need to add a large number of variables that will change as the excel sheet updates, which is why I am using a code behind function to generate a glob of instead of rewriting it constantly.Here is my current Code behind function that generates and inserts into literals:

I am using VB.net to send my mails through outlook. Where i am giving the resource path for the pictures inserted in to it.
But Email shows the inline pictures as attachments. what could be the reason?
The important thing is that this is not happening all the time. if we send 5 to 10 times we get the expected result for 2 or 3 times.
i explored some of the forums , got answers like 'changing the settings, security settings of the office outlook. that too is not succeeded.

how I can reference a report variable in the Report Properties Code Window of a local report? I have tried Variables!Claimant.Value (for a variable called Claimant) but I get an error "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference." I have tried qualifying it with Report. and also with the report name in front of it but I get errors with this also.I have the variable CLaimant defined in the Variables section of the Report Properties.

What I am trying to do is to get the captcha from the website and display it in a picturebox on the application so the user can view the captcha, solve the captcha and then the app post is back to the service for a response.

AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).
When i pass the parameter and run the report it works fine as i close the form it closes the form is there any way so that i should be able to close the crystal report viewer and pass the parameter again and should be able to view report again.

I have created an application using vb.net 2008 and for reports Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 but the problem is, when I run the application in another machine away from developing box, I get the Load report failed notice. I don't have any idea on how I should approach this issue. I tried installing the CRRedist2008_x86 and CRRedist2005_x86 but still the problem won't go away.
