The program will then retrieve the image from the image path and will be stored into ImageList. The Listview1 will then add the pictures of Imagelist into the ListView1.Items. Now my question, how can i retrieve back the path of the image when the users click on the selected image from the ListView?

VS 2008 Textbox Refers User Specified Path - Retrieving Settings?

When I try the program on my own system there is no problem. But the customers said that everytime they start the program the messagebox popups and they have to choose the path again and again.

Apr 21, 2011I'm trying to write a little Jukebox application in VB Forms, and I need the pathnames of the sound files (inTracks"Insert Name Here") to be relative instead of absolute, so that it may work on a different computer to mine. At the moment, I am testing with the simple Soundplayer class, and the single line of code to play a song is this: My.Computer.Audio.Play("inTracks" & txtCurrentlyPlaying.Text) It works when, instead of inTracks, I put the full pathname (C:Documents And Settings etc.), but not when I try a relative path such as this.

Dec 13, 2010I'm fairly new to programming and have little to no experience with sql and file transfers. Here's what I'm trying to do:
1. Link my program to a database containing images (or pathnames to images)
2. Allow user to select a starting image and ending image (max 50) based on image numbers (which they already know)
3. Collect selected images from DB or could just be a copy of the image.
4. Export images to a new folder so that my other program can process and OCR them
I have the form built, but I just can't figure this out.

2010 - Published A ClickOnce Deployment Package - Specialized Hebrew Font In The Application
Sep 29, 2011I've developed a database application in VB.Net 2010 Express and published a ClickOnce deployment package, the only choice in the Express version. The installation is supposed to create a listing on the Start menu but this isn't happening. Also, I'm using a specialized Hebrew font in the application that is not carrying over to the installation. what I'm doing wrong or if the ClickOnce publishing method is not capable of working in this way?

I have edited the column headers and set the column names to the same values as my table names yet the data is not showing in form load I have set datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False I know the data is there if I delete datagridview.AutoGenerateColumns = False then the data is shown with the default headings?

Sep 5, 2011I am doing work for a client who has lost the source code for one of their VB.Net WinForms applications. The assembly they have is not obfuscated at all. I am trying to recover as much of the source as I can as C# source and have tried several tools for decompiling assemblies, including Reflector, ILSpy and JustDecompile (all the latest versions), but they all produce code with a huge number of errors in them. Because of the large number of errors in the generated code, I am going to ask about the specific errors (in different questions), get more directed answers and in this way try shed some light on why all the tools are having difficulty decompiling this assembly. This question pertains to the fact that the code generated by all these tools always have a large number of invalid member variables (fields) such as the following:

Everytime I try to convert the project I get the following error: "Upgrade Failed: Exception occurred: Can't use character device names in file names"The weird thing is i have tried to convert the project using .Net 2003 and I do not get the error, it does convert.

I also want to be able to resize the shape (as in the example attached)This is very easy to do using "DrawPath" and defining points for the path and using a pen defined as dots.The problem I have is I want the dots to be evenly placed along the path, on any shape or size I draw.In the example I have created, I create a square with 4 points and draw a dotted path.There are 2 buttons that allows me to resize the square (larger or smaller) this helps show the problem more clearly.
The path starts at the top left corner and finishes back at the top left corner, the dots are evenly placed along the path, except the final dots at the end of the path. (Sometimes the dots are even and other times they are not even).The shapes I want to draw can be any size and any shape, but I have used a square in this example to show the problem I have. point me in the direction I need to go that allows me to draw the dots and give the impression that they are even all along the path, for all shapes and sizes.
In the pictures below if you change the size of the shape, one will have even looking dots, the other will not.

May 22, 2012I am trying to read and display a file using MapPath as follows :

This procedure will work fine and display in the browser. However, if I save the file to C:Document123.pdf, how can I access this file using relative path in MapPath function. Is there an option to access the file which is saved out of IIS server? I am using vb.net 2003.

i tried using:

Nov 29, 2010Well now i have an issue which is pointing in the use of "path's" physical and network.I have a SQL server on a Server machine and i have a desktop machine used as client.I'm runing from my client machine a stored procedure in order to add a streaming data base.But also before i run this procedure i run another one which prepare the desired "path", this procedure takes:
myPath="\ServerSharedFolderSQL
in order to run the first procedure i have to turn myPath in each physical name:
myPath="DriveLetter:PublicWorkFilesSQL"
Now my Issue is how i will have the physical path, which is build it on the server and which it's from very difficult (to imposible) to know it? Basically i need a function which will return me the physical path, which the implementation it's not knowing to me. My developing environment is vb.net 2010?

I thought the %AppData% should find the relative path. When I go 'Start|Run|%AppData% windows explorer takes me to that directory. I can not put the full path in, as the user is different on each client machine.
