Jul 26, 2011I have encountered a problem where in my database I have a column that is a bit either 0 or 1 specifying if a user is an admin or is account suspended or not. And in my VB code I am trying to retrieve that bit. Example code:

I tried getting rdr.GetByte(3), this tells me cast not valid, but there is no function of which will say GetBit, and if such exists I could not find it.

Oct 15, 2009Ive created one database Sql Server Compact Edition 2005, with one table ("Cliente") I know that I can created my database good, but i have a problem saving information since three textbox, in my table(With columns "Nombre" "Apellido" "Cliente". In my form there is a button save ("Guardar"). When I do click in my button appear the next message : "The column cannot contain null values. [ Column name = Nombre,Table name = Cliente ] " and happen the same with apellido and Id_Cliente. And this happen becouse my code cant save the information....

Oct 23, 2009I am using VB.Net. I have an object class called clsA(of T as clsB). Depending on what T is, I want to do different things. Let's say that clsC and clsD both inherit clsB and therefore can be used for T.
If I have an instance of clsA(of clsC), how can I get the inside type (i.e. clsC) using reflection?

One of the items is an iage and it's throwing an error when I try to convert the byte array to a bitmap.Here is what I have. I want to know how I can display an icon on a row depending on if the record for that row has a picture or not for the person...I'm not sure how to accomplish this however with the templates in asp.net

Aug 12, 2009When I put a break point to the last if clause in the sub ("If (backOrder < 0) Then", see below) it runs until the break point, if I put the break point further below, I get the following error:
Cannot insert the value NULL into column 'OrderID', table 'WHM.dbo.OrderDetails'; column does not allow nulls. INSERT fails. The statement has been terminated.
I've discovered first hand that it only happens when prodqty is bigger then qtyOnStock, thus executing the if clause.

In the client code I create an instance of Class1 and set the values for v_string and v_integer, but using Wireshark to look at the xml being sent to the server only a value for v_string is being sent as part of Class1. I'm guessing this is because it considers the value of v_integer to be null/not set. Here is an example of the client code.

The problem is that if a db Column does not allow a null value an error is thrown ("Column <ID> does not allow null values") and then the datagridview automatically removes the row. This error is raised as soon as the user leaves the cell and before the update command is issued.

Feb 3, 2011IM doing an assignment for college. ITs saving records to a file, and getting them back basically. So really not that hard.
The error is occuring around the following line of

basically all I've been doing so far, is formatting the output fields to show dates correctly. And I believe I'm getting this error. There is data in the form becasue i wrote it there to test it.I think im saving this right, but it seems ODD that its not working for me.
