Oct 15, 2009Ive created one database Sql Server Compact Edition 2005, with one table ("Cliente") I know that I can created my database good, but i have a problem saving information since three textbox, in my table(With columns "Nombre" "Apellido" "Cliente". In my form there is a button save ("Guardar"). When I do click in my button appear the next message : "The column cannot contain null values. [ Column name = Nombre,Table name = Cliente ] " and happen the same with apellido and Id_Cliente. And this happen becouse my code cant save the information....

In the Gridview's RowDataBound event, I have tried StrConv(e.Row.Cells(3).Text, VbStrConv.ProperCase) but this doesn't work. I have also tried StrConv(emp.Name, VbStrConv.ProperCase) in the LiNQ to Entities query but still the Name values returned are to converted to Lower-case.

Suppose, i have an Id of a student, and he has registered for 3 courses, when i give the query something like select students.studentid,courseid,midtermmarks,finalterm marks from marks,students where students.studentid=course.studentid;it gives me multiple records.my doubt is, when i get multiple records, and which is true(in the case a student has registered for multiple courses), how can i traverse through the resultset and fetch the values in the respective textfields.

May 1, 2012I have an application that users will save a list of clients to a database. The extension on the database is .sdk, and I think is some kind of sql database. The user can save rows and add rows to maintain a client list, but when I release an update, I have to install it without the database file. If I install with the database file, then their current client database is replaced with a new blank database.
my issue is that I need to add columns to tables in their existing database without overwriting their current rows. For example, i have columns for client name, address, and phone number currently. On my next update, I want the user to be able to save client birthdays. Here is what I have:
