Saving Form Data When Running Have A Form That Paints Ovals Onto A Chart.

I have a Windows form I would like to save the Ovals I created while running the form for use and review later I have been trying the SaveFileDialog but have not figured how to get my data out to the file that is created. I have read about using datatable but there again I'm working with that but need to find how to load all my Oval parameters into the table so I can recreate the current look of the form.

What I have is a form I click on and it draws two ovals on the screen. I haven't formatted the second oval yet but is will color itself and place itself with conditions I have yet to create. What I'm stuck on is I need a way to save my work. Then Open it when I return or wish to see what I did. I am using the SaveFileDialog and OpenFileDialog to set/get the file but what I am have issue with is the code needed to save all the Ovals on the page and redraw them. Can one of you give me some guidance? Do I need to create a Serializable Class to draw my ovals to start with and not use the Powerpacks.Shapes?

I have created a form, that calculates Hotels billing, with one box I can input Number of nights a customer stayed which is £32.50 a night per room and the other box £4.50 for breakfast, there is a deposit of £25.00 which gets deducted upon departure. I have created this form with success along with a clear button But here is the tricky part- I want to create a total button which will display a summary information about the bills paid on that day regardless of how long they have stayed and how many breakfasts consumed. this should include, the total number of bills paid, the total number of nights paid for, the number of breakfasts paid for, the total amount of all the bills added together including the deposit.

I have a form with a group of text/cbo boxes, and two listview controls. I would like to save these textboxes and listviews into a single xml doc with a schema like:

<MyTextboxes>

I have been using an Access Database with no problems, using a form (with a sub-form) to input all of the data. Recently the data on the sub-form is not saving to the tables/reports. I enter the data, save and close the form and re-open the record and it is not there. Previously I have been able to save all data using the form and have not altered the form.

I am working on developing a program that needs to keep the data of radiobuttons, textboxes, comboboxes, etc. and it needs to be able to save several files(one for each different user). I found a quick solution from a forum, but it will only save the data from a textbox, or a tabpage. The solution that i have came up with, is to use the data, put it into a textbox, to save,then when it opens the file, it will use the data and put it back into the controls. (EX.)

This does work but it does reduce some flexibility, and takes alot more programming than what is needed. I am looking for a simple way to save the data, and retrieve it.

Alright I have a settings form and when the user checks checkbox. When they exit out of the form that whole form will save in the app.

I created a form with 4 textboxes, one date picker, time and combobox. Now the problem I have is that I want to save all the values in these boxes in a folder which depends on what is selected in the combobox.

FormA calls DialogB where user cancels DialogB which exits via ForceTermination(), see insert.Caller FormA check for DialogResult not = OK, which it isn't, and I can see this in debug as Abort(3).However, the code continues merrily along its way until I get a 'null reference' error which I'm trying to avoid via Force Termination().This is caused by the user cancelling DialogB, a selection process to get a database (SQL) instance.[code]

I've got a form that opens up whilst data is being pulled from the database in another form (basically a box to say it's loading), the form opens when I want it to and the gif shows but doesn't run until the code on the other form has finished.

I would like to copy a chart to another form. I have a MainForm which displays several charts. However I have another form which I would like to copy some of the graphs from MainForm to this new form (GraphCompare) so that the charts can be compared easily by the user. I have an excel file that analizes the info on a SQL database. we have generated a few charts and now I want to be able to display them on a form in VB 2010I searched the web for info but the solutions I've found do not work and my guess is because they are for earlier versions of VB.I have been able to read or even write to the worksheet using this but on the graphvb.net

I am starting to learn visual basic. So far, it is quite simple and easy to use. I am liking it!Anyway, I want to make applications a little bit more complex.How do I open a new window (form)? Maybe I click a button on my main form and another form pops up.How do I"deactivate" the main form while the new form is running? (if I try to click the main form, an error sound plays)So my second form has a text field and a "OK" button. If I click it, the second form closes activating the main form again. I want to "pass" the text in the text field from the second form to the first one. How do I do that?

After saving, I get the correct message ("Saved"), and the DataGridView in the first form gets updated in real time.
But... when I take look at the data (or close and reopen the forms) the data in the database (SQL server) have not changed! What happens!

I've tried putting MyBase.ShowDialog() and .Show() and .9000+ other things The only benefit I've got out of using a seperate thread to load from the databse is i can see the screen right away (as oppose to it being a transparent box until it loads) but i cannot move it around or minimize it?is there any way to make it Movable while it loads?

I was using 2 forms, the first one has general data capture and the second one is a calendar form. On Form1 I have mulitple windows controls. A Textb ox and beside a Calendar button. When I click on a Calendar Command button, it should open calendar form and once the user selects the date, the date should be placed in the text box on the form1. Identical to this on Form1 I need multiple textboxes that needs date to be captured.I cannot use a global variable for this as I need to validate mulitple text boxes. To explain this, I have a Transaction Date and Date Received. I need to validate whether Transaction date is prior Date Received or not? I dont want to use several global variables b'coz I might need multiple validations as above. Please help me on this.

I have a chart in Excel that I'd like to use a subtitle on. There is no SubTitle Property on the chart object, so I looked in the Excel User interface and found that you can only create a sub-title by using a text box. The text box looks like its associated with the chart, not the worksheet, so how would I access that text box from code?

I have one form with a datagrid that displays a list of 'contacts' with just the minimal basic info in the datagrid.I have another form that displays ALL the 'contacts' info.I want to double-click on any cell in the datagrid and have the other form load and show ONLY the data for that selected contact on the datagrid form.I have no idea where to start but I have at least already figured out how to show only a select set of contacts by setting a filter on the contactstableadapter to "statusid = 4" (An agent).
