I have a listview where I can show a tooltip over each item and displays fine.However, I can't replicate for a Button.

I have created a test application to display data in a datagrid, using the Dataset Wizard per the help. All fine - data is displayed.
I then added insert, delete and update queries by selecting Edit Dataset with Designer, selecting the table and adding a query for each action via the TableAdapter Configuration Wizard. In Advanced Options, all boxes are checked, and on the last screen of the wizard it says it has generated SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE statements, table mappings, Fill, Get and update methods. The TableAdapter shows four entries: Fill, GetData(); DeleteQuery; InsertQuery; UpdateQuery. On the DataGridView Tasks page, Adding, Editing and Deleting are checked and the data preview shows data.
When I run the application, I can update, add and delete data, but this is not saved.
I've got Button and Listbox.. Now i want to know how can i code the button to show picture exactly for selected item from the listbox.. i tried:

The idea being that I want the user to know to hit the Return key after they are finished typing in a string in the cell. I have a small application in which I need to show alerts if a particular condition is met. I have an mdi form and several child forms. Now the best way to show an alert is to show a tooltip on the right side corner of my mdi form. Though this works, but the problem is I want user to close the tooltip once he has read. Now the tooltip that vb.net provide does not support click events. If I give a long time duration the tooltip would be open all the time and if I give a short duration then it will close quickly. What can I do ?

View 5 RepliesCurrently have created/extended the DomainUpDown class hoping I would be able to add one simple feature: I was hoping to be able to show a tooltip when the user mouses over the control that would show the next and previous item in the list. However the DomainUpDown class does not have a mouseenter event and overriding the mouseenter method does not seem functional. Is there something I am missing or do I just need to create my own MouseEnter event?

I am using a Balloon tooltip to show the user which characters are invalid as a filename. I use the IO.Path.GetInvalidFileNameChars array and convert each character to a string, before appending it to a "Invalid filename characters:" string.

View 8 RepliesI have a routine that has an if else statement at the else part it calls another routine. Within that routine it has a msgbox script. At the part that is actually is suppose to show the msgbox it goes back to the previous subroutine at the else statement and runs again but this time it displays. I have never seen this before.

I've been trying to work out how to change the text of a tooltip in VB .NET 2005 Express, and have read posts like this: [URL]but that doesn't helped me, because I already have a ToolTip control on my form, but I still can't see any properties for my btnJoin button in Intellisense (I've been looking for btnJoin.Tool..., but not a sausage). I can see a "Tooltip on Tooltip" property in the properties window of the btnJoin button, and that allows me to assign tooltip text at compile time, but I want to change the tooltip text at runtime with code.
