How to sort items in ListView by column bound to an Observable Collection ?I've looked all over the place and I can't find anything easy enough or simple on this.

im trying to make the listview sort the listview items by column (whichever column was clicked, sort the list based on that column)
in vb6 it was done by:

I have a listview control that I have a multitude of files displayed, in addition there are 6 columns in the listview that shows information about the file in question.
I have gotten this far, but my question is this: how do I allow the user to sort the listview by clicking on the column headers. Like one can do in list view in a Windows window?
i am trying to sort the items in a collection(of T), by the start date. but i do not know how to do it. i do know that we have to implement list properties.

Whenever I sort a column and then edit a cell, after editing the column, the column autosorts so the recently edited cell is no longer in the viewable area. Is there any way to prevent this auto sort from happening and only sort when I click on the columns?

View 1 RepliesVisual studio 2005 - vb.net..I have a user control on a form containing 15 combo boxes.All contain Y, N, and blank (for Yes, No, or blank) in the Items Collection property.Each of the combo boxes have a binding source to the same table, different fields.When you select a value Y, N, or blank for any of the fields and do a save, the values save while the application is open.Once you close and reopen, the values are gone.It appears the dataset does not recognize the change, so the values are not getting stored in the database table. Is there something I can do or put in one of the events that would identify this as a change.

I bound the All_PriceList to a datagrid as DataGrid1.ItemsSource = All_PriceLists but when I do All_PriceLists=Getall() where Getall reads and gets the data from the DB, the datagrid is not updating.[code
I'm still teaching myself how to bind and use observable collection. One problem that I'm a little confused on is binding multiple classes/observable collection to one page. In other words, if I have a PersonName class and a AnimalName class, I have to create two separate observalbe collections for each? How would I set the datacontext when a page only allows one?

Now If I add another class, how would I combine the two on the binding part and collection part.
I've been working on this problem for a while and I'm clearly missing something...I create, populate and bind an observable collection like so:
Dim _ObservableWEI As New ObservableWEI

_ObservableWEI.Add(New WEI() With {.WEInum = 1, .WEIvalue = 1})[code].....
The problem is the filter effects the contents of both listboxes. I guess I need a specific instance of the collection to apply the filter too or something

I am not allowed to bring this to a newer version of the gramework until next year. We are moving from XP to Windows 7, and we have identified an issue with how the column sort image (up/down arrow) is drawn to the listview. Currently in XP, the image is drawn to the right of the column's text. However, in Windows 7, I am getting Access Violation Exceptions. Now, I know that the error is with the improper handling of memory using the unmanaged code as shown below. I am looking for a method to mimic what we have below in a safe manner using managed code.

I would like to know how to count how many times the word "ON" it is apearing in that column and same for the word "OFF". View 1 RepliesI have a WPF ObservableCollection which is bound to a ListBox and I have a Sort() method which when called will convert the ObservableCollection to a List(Of T), and undertakes a sort based on a date/time column within the collection.
The data is sorted, even when new items are added to the ObservableCollection, however the date/time isn't being correctly sorted. The data is sorting based on the date however it is very much random when it comes to the time portion. The following is an example of the outcomes I am experiencing:

Is there anything that I am doing incorrectly in this method that would cause the time portion not be included in the sort? Is there a better way of doing a sort?
I have a ListView in which the items in the first column are selectable with a mouse click. How to I make these items non-selectable?FWIW, I've dug into the properties for the ListView but not been able to find which parameter is the right one to change.
