Right now, I only understand that you have to define the dimension of the array, however this is shy of impossible since the dimension of the array will change due to different results from the query. Sep 8, 2011I have a datagrid control with a list of names that it retrieves from a MySql database. I can search through them until i have one result. I want to be able to Display a groupbox control when the number of results is equal to 1. Also, in the groupbox i have a button that when clicked will delete this user from the server and their information from the mysql table called "employee". when the user is deleted i'll display a confirmation message in a messagebox, and reload the table with the updated list. so far the only two problems i have are showing the groupbox when the results are equal to 1 and deleting the user from the sql server based on the name of the search result

Establish A Connection To MySQL Via VB & Display Simple Query Results On A Form?
Dec 12, 2010I have a project in Visual Studio 2008 and there is a working data connection to a MySQL database. In other words, I can query the db directly from Visual Studio and it will display the results.
I've tried a couple of approaches that I found online for writing a connection string and accessing the db, but no luck yet.
All I'm trying to do is code a button to query the db and then reset the text property of a label/textbox to display the results based upon another label/textbox value.
The pseudo-code I am imagining is something like this:

Dispatch has column 'DispatcherID' and 'TechnicianID' which are both foregn keys to EmployeeID in Employee table.I want to join these two tables using EmployeeID so that i can obtain the matching name to each id.but it only works when i make a single join to either DispatcherID or TechnicianID and not for both.

Show The Final Results Instead Of The Results Real-time
Sep 28, 2010I have a form that allows users to select file and then it reads the contents, parses the data and then executes a sql insert statement to add it to a database. What I am having issues with is showing real-time results. Currently, I have the import operation take place on the import form within the OnLoad event. The problem with this is it only shows the final results instead of the results real-time. Is there anyway to do this without creating a seperate thread and delegates?

Sep 22, 2009MySQL databases exists for saving values as strings (text only). Is there any way that i could store files with the same speed as a mysql command ? I know that it depends on the file size but lets say that the file is "Avatar.jpg" 50KB... I ve tried FTP but this is not what im looking for. e.g. You want your users been able to upload a file like the [Add This Attachment] button does in dreamincode.net and you dont have any background on PHP/HTML/Javascript/ASP.NET just VB.NET and the basics of MySQL plus you dont want to use it for a website. How do you accomplish this? Something silly that ive tried was opening an image as text then update the mysql server with that text but it didnt work backwards after i wrote the text on the file and oppened it ...it said that the image was corrupted.

Giving Effects To Buttons
Mar 6, 2011Image shows the buttons on my UI in vb.net.All these buttons are having background images. Now what i want is these buttons be shown as inactive when actions corresponding to them are not available so I am making them cmd.enable = false but still on UI there is no visual effect of this disabling them on these buttons. They keep looking same as in enabled mode. So how to give effect of disabled state to these buttons.In the same way i want effect to be visible when mouse is hovered over these buttons and buttons are clicked
