I am having trouble with a table adapter i am working on. In the table adaptor query i am having adaptor take a sum of the data that falls within a date range in a few columns. then i have some text boxes on my program refencing the columns that are being summed together. The program then gives me an error when i go to run the function.

I have a table adapter that I use just to fill a form when it loads. I've added two new columns in the backend and went in through the "DataSources" and added them. They appaear in the XSD designer but for some reason are not filling the form when it loads. I the form is writting to the backend correctly via hand coded SQL.

View 4 RepliesI am calculating a date for employees to resume work.Now if the date for instance falls on friday, that means the employee has to reutrn to work the next day which will be saturday.This is rigth but what i want is even though the return date falls on weekend, i want to be able to shift the date to the next working day ..Monday for example.so that it will not show that the employee has to return on any weekend day if there falls one.But rather a working day Monday Date.[code]....

i'm using vb 2008 and local database sql server compact 3.5 to build a application.the problem is that i can't insert a new data to the database from the app. i'm wrote the query right at dataset and using table adapter. but when i call the query, it succeed but the data don't exist at database.why when i add data, it's not working. actually when i run it, it says that adding process is success, no error, and it shows at the datagrid. but when i look at database. the data that i add is not there.and in tableadapter, i also make sortData, seachData query, i can use both of them perfectly when i run the app.so, i really confuse why is the insert query didn't work.

I have two tables, a LP_task table and an lp_Update table. I want a complete list of tasks and only updates that were posted during a specific date range. LINQ doesn't seem to support any other join criteria but 'equals'or each task. I want all tasks (left table) even if they don't have an update. (Left Outer Join)

I have a table of data exported to an Excel file that contains a Date/Time Field. The entries in the table are formatted like 01/01/2009 14:00 (military time). Every line in the table contains unique information that is specific to that particular date/time information, 1800 lines of data (the reason that I dont want to hand sort this table). How can I identify the items in the table that fall after a particular time of day? More specifically, I need to identify which of the data fields have a time after 14:00 on that particular day.

I have a windows form program that pulls data from a sql server. That same data is being read from a ASP.NET website that sets properties for the site. The SQL server has 3 tables: tblWebPage, tblObjects, tblProperties. and 6 views for the 6 web page: vWebPage01, vWebPage02, vWebPage03..ect. When the program loads you see buttons for each web page on the site. When the user clicks on the Home Page it loads this data: [code]Now, the problem lies in updating vWebPage02, vWebPage03, ect.. I assume with the same data I can copy my form with the code and change the form name and the data set to build and update. So that's just what I did changed the form name where needed and changed "vWebPage01" to "vWebPage02".When I tested the program My "vWebPage01" form it built and updated no problem. when I went to test "vWebPage02" it built the dataset and table adapter fine but it did not update at all.

I am developing one desktop application using vb.net 2008 and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. fetching the data from database between a given range.
the date field in my table is of type VARCHAR(25) and the date format stored is dd-mm-yyyy. when I using the between clause in the SQL query then it is not giving all the data every time i.e. the date criteria in where clause is not working fine.
while my clients requirement is to keep the date format as dd-mm-yyyy and fetch the data according to the given range.
I search on the forum and found many queries to fetch the data by converting or type casting the date field within sql query but nothing worked.

I have a data table whose one column is related to a column of another table. I have a listbox in a form which shows a column (which is sorted by another column value by ORDER clause) of the parent table and other columns are in textboxes. The child table is represented by a datagrid. When I add a new item in parent table and click save, the newly created item is listed at the bottom of the listbox violating my ORDER clause. I want to connect to Sage Data, to the stock table, and select certain columns such as SKU, title, description, sales price and then select the rows I want and send these to an excel spreadsheet formatted in the style required for upload as product feeds to google shopping, shopzilla, amazon and Ebay etc.Each feed is formatted differently and I have to create these manually all the time so I want to try and automate the process. We would have much better control of our ecommerce if I could do this quickly with custom program.
So far I have managed, after a lot of disappointments, to connect to the sage data through the sage ODBC and populate a datagridview. I've only got this far by luck, with many errors due to me and system and software problems. I thought this would be relatively easy as I once used an app to create a word document programmatically with a very thorough guide, it's not looking so easy now. I have also added a check box column to the datagridview for selecting rows and thats as far as I have got.I was thinking perhaps of passing the selected data to an array and then creating and populating the spreadsheet.how to get selected rows from DGV.

When user stores a record, I need to make sure dates don't overlap.My simple code checks date ranges within a specific record (e.g. user enters 9/16/2011 or 10/21/2011, I throw an exception.)But, on the slim chance a user gets creative (e.g. 10/14/2011 - 10/23/2011 or even 10/14/2011 to 11/16/2011), now they have circumvented my check.BTW, the user could enter 10/14/2011 to 10/23/2011 if they were editing the record that contained values 10/15/2011 - 10/22/2011.So, I'm trying to solve this riddle with a linq query. However, what I have isn't working exactly right.

I am creating a project in VB.NET in which one of the reports require that the name of employees should be displayed as column names and whatever work they have done for a stated period should appear in rows below that particular column.Now as it is clear, the columns will have to be added at runtime. Am using an ODBC Data source to populate the grid. Also since a loop will have to be done to find out the work done by employees individually, so the number of rows under one column might be less or more than the rows in the next column.Is there a way to create an empty data table and then update its contents based on columns and not add data based on addition of new rows.
