I'm loading HTML into the web browser control, and adding a bit of javascript that hightlights a section of html when the user clicks on the area, by changing the classname. If you know the FireBug addin for Firefox, it's very similar to that. But what I need to do after this, is take the HTML source, and find where they clicked. But when I get the DocumentText of the webbrowser control, it's the original source. Not the source with the added class name.
Is there a way to get the source code with the javascript generated html?
I'm having a problem using XML literals with a StringBuilder in VB 2008. If I use this code everything is fine.Dim html As New System.Text.StringBuilder
html.Append(<html><body></body></html>)
MsgBox("hello")
Now the problem is I want to wrap HTML around something that is generated in code.
html.Append(<html><body>)
msgbox("nothing happens")
When the HTML doesn't have the corresponding ending tag, it acts like it goes beyond the ) and keeps looking for it.
how do i transfer vb 2008 language into html?

View 1 RepliesI'm coding an ASP.NET page, with VB code behind. When the user clicks a button on the page, I send them an email with information and instructions. Rather than sending a plain text email, I send a nice, pretty, HTML-formatted one. Right now, I'm doing this in a way that I KNOW will be difficult to maintain. That is, I'm straight up writing out all of the html. [code]...

btnDym.Text = "Dynamic"
'set size
btnDym.Height = 25
btnDym.Width = 150
'set location
btnDym.Left = 100
btnDym.Top = 100
Me.Controls.Add(btnDym)

Usage: Users create pretty HTML news letters in another app. They post the newsletter to the web, but they also want to set the contents of the HTML news letter file as the body of an email and send it using Application In Question. The users understand to use absolute link and image references when sending an E Newsletter. Environment:
AIQ is a VB.Net app deployed via ClickOnce. It is an intranet app; one can be sure MS Office 2003 and the interop 11 dlls are on the target machines.
Restrictions: MAPI is out. It mangles the HTML. Since it is a ClickOnce deployment, we can't register dlls (I think, correct me if I am wrong). Therefore CDO and COM is out (again, I may be wrong.... I would be happy to be proven so).

View 4 RepliesI am writing a Windows Form program to automatically download and store generated PDF reports from a web site using the WebBrowser Control. The web site uses Ajax to link an icon back to the source aspx file which then returns a PDF file.
The problem I have is that the WebBrowser control brings up the File Save As dialog box when the PDF file is returned and I can find no way of handling this to cature and save the returned file. I have found other examples of how to manage this using the Navagating event to validate the extension of the file that is being accessed (e.g. [URL] and, if not an HTM, file then use the HTTP Web control to directly download the file. Unfortunately this will not work as the call references a .aspx page.

I have a date in string format the date is generated by VB.Net application and persisted into XML file which than I am parsing it onto iPad. The parsed content has date in string like,"Monday, 07 November 2011 16:03" How can I convert this format to NSDate object? I couldn't found any method in documentation.I thought of separating string component and than evaluate each component and convert them into numbers such as,
Monday = 0
Later I can create a date like this, i.e. by setting component.
NSDate *now = [NSDate date];
NSCalendar *gregorian = [[NSCalendar alloc] initWithCalendarIdentifier:NSGregorianCalendar];
NSDateComponents *comp = [gregorian components:NSYearCalendarUnit fromDate:now];
[comp setWeekday:1];

Lately our network is having some speed issues at certain times of day, so what I'd like to do is make a little app that will test the network speed at certain intervals, like once an hour between certain servers etc and then write the results to a text file. Is VB 2008 cable of doing something like this? I thought of maybe copying a 500mb file from 1 place to another and somehow record the average transfer rate of that file, but I am not exactly sure about how to record the transfer speed.
View 4 RepliesI will use the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) to transfer files from a client (laptop) to a shared folder on a server within our local network.The problem is a very slow network bandwith, if we transfer a file, the other clients can´t work, all requests to other clients (application) or viewing internet pages needs a long time.My idea is to use BITS in my tool to copy/transfer a file from client to server, also I hope to get more performance for the internet requests.
